Thunder

Had a good hunt last night with Warren Wilson and Jim Garrison. We hunted GRNT Thunder, GRNT Joleen and Jim's Trax dog(he be a grnt if I owned him ). We made four trees, 3 outside and one den all by 9:00pm.

Thunder has settled in to his new home and really starting to click. I would encourage anyone with a good Plott female to check him out, Jim.

Complete coon dog

Thunder is a well balenced coon dog.From hunting with him several times i havnt seen a weak spot in him,he has it all.Most impressive male ive had the pleasure of hunting with since Duel Grand Jake.

Pete Bentley came over 10-30-13 and bred his female. This is a second breeding. The first litter has some young dogs really coming on. You Plott people that know Pete know he takes his breeding very serious.

I got to hunt with Larry D and his 1 1/2 yr old pup out of Thunder last week. He is a super nice young dog. Y'all will be hearing a lot from him in the near future if you can talk Larry into putting him in some hunts.

New to Plotts

I have been coonhunting for 15 years I tried Redbones Blue ticks and settled on House bred Walkers. I ama little predjudice against the Nose that I have seen on other breeds. I recently got a plott female and trained her as a hog dog, thinking she would not have the nose I want on coon. Hogs are only out at night so mid day if you hit a track it is many hours old. This female can find them quick she works tracks the other crossed up hog dogs i hunt with cant smell at all. She is registered and I want to raise a litter of coon hounds out of her. I am wondering where a plott is that can work a old track in deep fall leaves on a frosty night, that is the kind I want. I do not breed my walkers for tree power like the modern day walkers are going to and I want the same thing in a plott male. How is Thunders nose? Does anyone know of a real track minded plott male the type that if a track falls apart you go get him out of the truck to finish it for the others. I hope thunder is that way because he is close to me. Also what is the stud fee, if any will you take pups if you know my bitches breeding? I do not have the papers back yet so can not tell you her pedigree right know.

The stud fee on Thunder is $300, we are not taking any pups. Thunder has a cold nose and uses it to his advantage. Call me and we will talk Plotts.Ph. 816-630-7601.

Opened the Missouri coon season last night. Got to see a big ole Missouri coon rolled out with a pistol to Mr. Thunder and Jim Kumbergs Gr. Nite female. They got deep, we drove around and walked into them. Long walk back out but worth it.

Good Hunt

Had a good hunt Monday night, the Plott promoter came down and we turned loose GRNT Thunder, NTCH Trax and my little NTCH Female. Three drops, five trees, one den, three singles and one double. Talk about action packed we hit it hard.
Decided to call it quits as the moon was coming up real bright, got in the truck and the clock said 8:30pm.
The dogs did great but I think Jim and I are going to have to work on our endurance !!!!! We can probably stay out until nine or so next time !!!!!!
