this is probably a dumb question. Are the Leopard days held at the same location every year? I would like to go one year but I need to plan in advance.
I'll be there! Leopard days was held at the Wayne county coonhunters club fir a few years I think but this is the first year it's in tell city.

Leopard Days...
I wish I could go but I'll be flying back from AZ. that Sat. If I had a little more time I could motor down there but I can't make it happen. I had a good time last time I went. Of course that had a good deal to do with the crazy people I shared a hotel room with. HA!
Good luck to all of the competitors!!
For the record, I'm FOR a very limited, well thought out single registration that is designed to help the leopards and avoid passing up the few dogs that can truly benefit the breed by showing the traits that further the current qualities while reinforcing the soft spots in the overall gene pool.
It seems like the discussion scheduled for the meeting there will certainly draw a higher attendance this year and I'm really bent that I can't join in on it. Hopefully this meeting will inform the many people that believe single registration is completely controlled by UKC. The truth is that single registration can be structured by the ALBA and limited in any reasonable way that the ALBA chooses. This can be a great tool for the breed if the membership chooses to exercise it's authority to use it in a responsible and limited way.

What is the hunting like ther?.. Lots of coon? Or thin? Flat? Hilly?
Just curious? Plan on hunting regardless ,just like to know what I'm getting into! Thanks
My understanding is its got some good hunting and some hilly hunting to and as for the coon I hear it depends on where you go to. Sounds like most hunts I got to go to when I was chasing those titles with my old English dogs.

This is the same club who had the Squirrel Dog World this past weekend. You won't find a bunch of guys who will work harder than the Perry County Coon Club. They do a great job.
Hunting will be good for everyone I'm sure. I'd say their coon population is in the high medium range. Not as high as Michigan or northern Ohio, but every cast will score on coon if you're packing a coon dog. It is a little hilly, but not too steep like in other places.
I was just down there this weekend and I'll be back for Leopard Days. If you are looking for somewhere to eat, let me know. I think I've found about all the little mom and pop joints that have the best food. Go downtown to the Freezer Cafe for breakfast. They are open through the week but from Friday morning they are open 24 hours a day through Sunday night. They have some pretty awesome food and it's cheap as well!
See you guys in a little over a week!
