Sam did win the SS. He was owned and handled by Wesley Hamby from up in the mountains of SC at the time he won the SS. Hatcreek Little Sambo is what they used to call him. Sambo is 100% COONDOG!

I'm pretty sure this is correct. Some of it is coming from memory. Might have missed a title or name just a bit. Gives you the general idea of how he is bred anyway.

on a side note...Smokey and Knothead were 7/8 the same cross as Phydeaux that made the final four of the ukc world in 96

I'm lucky enough to hunt with Sam and Robbie several nights a week. Sam is all coon dog. They don't make very many like him.

So we got a black dog and a walker dog and thx UKC for finally allowing a cross bred/ Xbreed to be legal ....Blue/Walker dog and just look where he is ? In The Final 3 of the World Hunt !!!!!!.... GO SAMBO ....

I owned the mother to Sam. I bred her to my buddy's Bad Habit male. By far the best litter out of my female. My female died last February
