Kandy second night in the woods.

Just a little training time. She went 679 yards with old dogs and was at the tree when we got there. She is not afraid of the dark.

Hunted with Earl Howell with Dozer and Jim Stacey with his Gr Nite Zip male off Scarr.
Jim is all fired up now to hunt Kandy this coon season.

Made it out first night of season

Kandy is doing fine. She made both trips to the trees and treed some. When those coons hit the ground with full life she never backed up. She is a coon killer for sure. We made a drag and tracked quiet but did tree. It won't be long now. Good mouth on her. We had a video but Earl had it pointing towards him instead of the coon fight. Ha ha. I'm going to have to train him as well :-) Jim stacey is having some fun helping us out. I'd say by the end of Dec. She will be running and treeing her own coon at 7 months old. I'm thinking baby stakes possibly.

Jim thinks Kandy is going to make a top cooner. He has turned a few turnout coons and she has done well alone and getting them bushed. She is treeing on wild coon and going every step of the way. Now I hope she opens on track. I hear her whimper so it won't be long on the right track. She did tree a possum alone but that's okay for now at 6 months old. She is showing she can do something on her very own with dogs out looking.
You guys made the right cross from what I see so far. Time will tell.

Thanks Elmo for feedback on Kandy I’m liking everything I’m hearing about all the pups out of the liter is showing interest in hunting. The one I got is also trying to tree at every tree and tryed to tree a poussum but got down off the tree and came on behind me. That’s another reason why I’m trying to sell the other female i have to many female in my pen. If u no anyone looking they won’t be madd if they buy this other female i call fly.

I love the video of Kandy's littermate doing her thing. We just might have some good ones brewing. You made the right cross in my opinion.
Goes to show a dog doesn't have to be titled to produce a good litter when your breeding great coon dog to great coon dog. Titles are nice for sure but I like winning when the leaves are off the trees. Too many circle tree dogs win in the spring and summer when they should have out of the hunt.

Thank you Elmo for taking a chance on Kandy and it will all work out long as they get hunted. I think we put our heads together on this cross after hunting dogs from many different studs the last 10 years it’s not much I’ve seen different out of magazines stud dogs or backyard studs. And I’ve been around a lot of them here in the south. I’ve been around to some of the older stud dogs ever since I was a kid and learn to put my ear in a lot of conversation and kept my mouth shut and eyes open to see if my elders make them or cull them. From Carl Stewart getting started and local great trainers like James Banks to Troy Rankins and others and I still do the same thang listen shut up and speak when spoken to. And hunt what I buy or go get something I think I would like to see if I can continue. So I like to thank a lot of the older Coon hunters who posted their story of coonhound stud and training over the years. And I have read every one that have posted their story.

Sleepy you being Mighty Quite, lol! Are you working hard at night developing that New Secret Weapon on 4 legs?! You better work hard on it cause when I'm healed up from this Surgery I will have next week, me and Rose are planning on Showing Out, lol! I think I have Mr. Jack talked into hunting Blue for me while I'm down but I'm Scared I might not ever get him back, lol. Just a chance I have to take. He's gonna like him a Lot. Hope you been having Fun treeing a few and that 2018 is the Best Year Ever for you and your Family. I'm going to hunt the next few nights, me and Mason going to try and tree the Ghost Coon or Ole Rocket. Take Care.

Thanks for all the congratulations on the win. Also thanks Elmo for the post. This lil female is way off from her potential and looks like she will turn out to be a lil bit better at getting off to her self and having a Coon. Even though she is only 18 months old she was a very late starter but now she has put it all together she is all about getting a Coon treed somewhere. Thanks again and hope to post more on her soon and often.

Steve I really like her as a dog in the pen that for some reason I just like her and the way she acts. Now this female I tryed to give my honest opinion on while I was trying to sell her some months back because she is tight on the ground and so many guys questions me about y I’m selling her if i thought she was going to make a nice hound. Well I no it’s hard to trust guys about buying young dogs but if you looking it’s all about taking a chance if you buy it and hunt it but to buy one and leave it in the pen and won’t your money worth not going to get it. I gave Johnny Brown 650$ for her last March and was asking less at one time and stood behind her that she could tree a Coon but was still young. Now she has her win and to me she will still make a good one but not sure if I’ll like everything about her but me and her will open up some eyes and make a mark just to prove a point. Thanks again for the congratulations.

Took my Ann pup and Fire gyp on a hunt last week my fire dog got treed and on my way into her my Bojangles /Ann pup ms. Louisiana stop took a hot track and split treed for the first time and this lil girl treed so hard that her eyes were roll back and I was so nervous she was going to make my fire gyp leave her tree so I went to the pup and didn’t shine her tree very good. She showed me something so I’m not worried about her. Now that Fire is progressing well i should be able to hunt them two together. I’ve been hunting a few dogs out of boseph and two grand pups off boseph and I have to say I’ve been in the woods with others like Sheba 2 and it’s not one that was not extra loud hard tree dogs that I’ve seen take and put pressure on a few. I Took my Redstick Ann female and breed to boseph the first week of the new year and later this week I’ll be taking her to get a altura sound done to check and see if everything went well so I’ll no how to handle her. According to the pups and young dogs I’ve hunted with and drew out with I think this cross should be just as good as any. Right now Ann first liter of pups is out of a son of boseph and they are coming along well if they go to the serious hunters they will get the job done.

She is doing good. She still squeaks on track yet and is a little tight but will get on the wood and good loud mouth. Not a trashy bone in her so far. Happy with what she is doing. She goes every step of the way every drop. Bojangles and Ann was a good cross. I'm sure Ann on Bocephus will be excellent as well.

Bojangles x Ann is like a second cousin cross. Flo crossed on Bocephus produced some really nice hounds. Ann x Bocephus should be an exceptional cross.

Slam hunt

Well made it back from the slam hunt and it was one hour and it went quick. I hunted Fire she had 4 strike and first tree and split. We got almost to her and she got down and took a minus and boy was I hot but she didn’t go cove the others but went five trees over and went back in for 125 the others dogs tree was slick and fire tree was a den. Now some of y’all that no me no I will get madd and get rid of one. I have had thoughts about getting rid of Fire because she is tight on feed tracks and now some of these coons are rutting and covering some ground. But if I tell y’all I won’t to sell her will you help me and please don’t buy her. She is going to be a very good dog if she stay here and I finish her my self.👌👌😁

Dennis I agree with you. Get her while he is mad at her. Ha. The bluetick guys are cheap but the want a world champion for free and be PKC , Super staked and all that then they still won't buy the dog after many calls and tire kicking. All I know is the pup that Earl and I have together and Jim Stacey hunting her is red hot and we are pleased.
Darren is a straight shooter and he gets in the woods. He knows a coondog and he wants what he wants just like the rest of us. That dog being a little tight on the ground is driving him nuts I bet.

Elmo/Dennis guys y’all about right but I can tell you if someone else gets her they won’t finish her if they don’t hunt her and let her learn. I’m looking for her to be what I won’t instead of letting her grow. I have my mind made up to finish her out. Then I’ll make a decision. The coons are rutting now and she is still getting under them but still just 4 months from not even barking up a tree. And I still like to thank Link NASON for letting her run lose in his pen until she treed her first Coon. I believe when the coons stop rutting she will tree more coons quicker. Jmop: I got up tell Ann have her pups and I get them up to pick out what I won’t before I make up my mind. 👍
