Not his fault, he had some serious work obligations. Otherwise he would of been giving me the play by play from his Garmin as I stood next to him listening to the dogs.

Heckler it's good to hear the brush is being cleared where you live so you can see those snakes this spring. I had to work late due to being off on Monday for holiday. Jay was nice enough to take Slinger out. The weather is unbelievable around here. We will take all that mother nature will give us. It means that much less for snowy cold days. I'm ready for spring so I can get these pups out and started they should be ready for March. It's been awhile since I have been on here hope everyone had great holidays.

I hope you and yours had a good holiday season as well. It's been an eratic winter down here so far. 18 over night lows, then 72 a couple days later.

looks like old man winter is going to show his ugly head after this 50 degree weather. What ashame, Steve it sounds like your new dog is doing good for you.Thats great.

Leroy the newest dog I got is the one I got from Perry 2 years ago. Yes she is doing good. She would do alot better if I was making enough money to hunt more often. She turned 2 y/o on Jan 2. I'm glad to read about your little Slinger pups getting off to a good start. I wouldn't mind some of that snow, it would be fun to me. I imagine y'all would like for to not snow at all.

Steve if you really into snow load up and come on. I like snow as much as a 100 degree humid week in Flordia the only thing half the people that live up here don't have enough since to drive in the snow. Yeeppie as they slid into you.

Posted by heckler on 01-12-2012 12:12 AM:

I wouldn't make it 50 feet down a snowy road and the wrecker would be on the way. Shoot I bet I wouldn't last 50 feet walking in that mess and you would have to call for an ambulance.

Posted by slinger1 on 01-12-2012 11:12 PM:

Steve 4 inches on ground and 30 mph winds. This is when I wish I was back in NW Flordia but when its a 100 degrees there I wish I was here. got to take bad with good I guess.

We just can't be satisfied. Perry keeps saying he is going to move to FL in a couple years. I can't much blame him wanting to get away from shoveling snow every year. I would think he will start missing home and all the good hunting up there. It does become a chore for me to hunt in the hot summers. I didn't go much this past summer and I didn't miss it all. It was nice and cool laid up in the A/C.

Posted by slinger1 on 01-13-2012 02:10 AM:

You talk about cool.I promise up here after the snow today you will get all the cool you want. I just got off of my skid steer after plow all of about 7 inches of snow down the drive which is 1/4 mile long. Cool is not a word I want to discuss. I feel like a snowball.

A real rugged mountain man would of used the shovel big boy!

Rico does make a good point Leroy, it was only 7 " of snow.

a rugged mountain man cant afford a skid steer but this fat boy can.

I haven't been to Illinois, or anywhere for that matter, in over a month. Going back tomorrow for the Super Bowl and Dad's birthday, but then back here. Will let you know when I get down there to hunt.

Way to go Curt on your win. Seeing you and Erika showing off together was great. Jay I enjoyed seeing Slinger on the bench I'm not much on showing dogs but it was fun seeing slingers pups up there. I can't wait to see them winning in the hunts. I'm very excited on getting mine started this year. I really apperciate the people that have pups off of Slinger and the good words I'm hearing. From the sounds on the folks that have pups sounds like some more good times are coming. This makes it all worth it. Good friends and good dogs is a great recipe for happines in something you enjoy. Grant when you find the time I will be waiting on a phone call to go hunting. My work has been crazy also. Take care and everyone be safe.

Hey Leroy good to hear you are getting good reports back on the Slinger pups. Wished I could have got my hands on one, but thanks for the offer. You should have went to that show, I see they reserved a rocking chair for ya, lol.
