Went to an Rqe

Had fun visiting with Tommy and a few friends last night. It was a tough first dump for all four dogs. We hunted with a walker that finished 3rd in the world and two others. Nobody did any good on that dump. I am trying to get Tommy to come to the bunkhouse this fall.

sounds alot like the hunt i went to fri.night never made a tree till the last 20mins of the hunt. i havent heard from the boy that took my young dog down there yet last i heard he had a tree during time out. give me a call lance whenever u come up with a nite u want to come up.

Update

So far this year has gone totaly opposite of the last two. We just can't seem to catch a break anywhere that hounds are concerned. We found out 911 is not pregnant and Spice had surgery today to remove what appears to be breast cancer. It could be worse. The vet did get all the cancer and I am going to start hunting 911 this week. Hunting 911 was one of my favorite things to do. If everything goes well we will get Spice in the woods I'm about 3 weeks. She is a tough hound. She got home from surgery ate, drank, and had a bowl movement. Maybe our trials will stop and we can get on the right track soon.

911 won her cast tonight. Too bad the points weren't enough to get the nitech win. She did a nice job.

Thanks guys. It's friends like you guys that make it all worth it even when the going gets tough. Thanks. That was a fun cast and Mr. Carlee has a nice male black and tan that can sure get it done in the woods. I really am excited about hunting 911 in the upcoming hunts. She really did a nice job and did not score any minus.

Youth hunt

There is a non sanctioned youth hunt in lawley this saturday. Tyler says he is going to hunt Spice II. I guess Spice II and 911 will hunt there. We are planning on making a day of it. Hope many of you will bring kids and support the hunt.

Hunted tonight

Shannon Hollon and Jake brought Dan to hunt with us tonight. Jake is going to keep Dan in the wooks for now on. I expect big things from them both.

We were excited to take Spice II hunting for the second time since we got her back. Dana and I were going at it. She was hunting Spice and I was hunting 911. First drop they both did a nice job and treed about the same time. I got the best of Dana by getting first strike and tree. Second drop both dogs struck late and I had first strike. Each hound was on a different track and both put trees at the end of their track in opposite directions. They both split, held pressure, and were treed in thick leaves. I couldn't find mine and we found Dana's. She beat me and will not let me live it down for a while. Both dogs did a nice job.

I REALLY enjoyed beating Lance last night..Old girl Spice II still got it! I forgot how fun hunting her was. She threw a locate that rolled over to a chop a 2 year old could call. (I think that is why I won plus her last coon was sitting in a great spot waveing at everyone. HAHA)

I sure hope and pray we will be able to get some pups off of Spice II. That year she was stolen really pulled her down but now she is were she needs to be in weight and over all health. Thank God...

I just came in from bush-hogin. Lance saw it but did not get it then I read it to him and he laughed. Spice II really looked good she has all the right tools even if there a little rusty from all the trama over the past year.
911 looked real good too.
Coon were really moving last night and it was a fun hunt with friends and family. I liked it better because I won. I want to make sure everyone knows I beat Lance again...HAHAHA

Going to Lawley club today for a youth day. There will be show, water races, drag races and a hunt. The hunt will teach the kids on rules and how to call there dog. We are takeing 911 and Spice II T.Byrd will hunt Spice and Jake will hunt 911. Some of the other members are bring there dog so a youth with out a dog can join in. It is a just for fun hunt to try to get youth interrested in coon hunting.

Lance changed his mind on takeing 911 so we took Spice II and Tonto. Tonto got 4th with Jake Hollon handleing him. It was a fun hunt with all the kids. We had 13 kids hunting, 9 kids showing and 20+ in water race, drag, and treeing. T.Byrd had a real good time too. Tonto and T.Byrd got 2nd overall in the water race. There were 20 dogs in the water race. Not too bad for an old dog.

The Brooks family had a good night last night.

They won Champion males with Hotwire, overall tree with Buttermilk in the water race, champion win in the field trial with Buttermilk, and put a first on Toby in the hunt. They were at family fun day in Hebron, WI. The Mad Dog Psyco hounds really showed out.

Tim we had a really good time. T.Byrd got to see some of his friends he hasn't seen in a while. I really enjoyed hearing the kids tell there hunting stories to everyone when they returned to the club house. They sounded like a bunch of old coon hunters sitting around talking. It was really fun. No Dana is going with some friends to the beach and I am going to get some things done around the house, kennels, and with the boys or I may just relax. I am helping coach this year so T-Byrd and I had football pratice all week and it starts all over again Monday. Are you hunting this weekend?
