Well done! Most wouldn't care what it was or how big. Some up here will shoot 75 pounders, I could understand if it was a kid or a disabled person but grown men that has killed them before they're just not good hounds men.

We took 1 bear this year. My buddy that hunts with us has been bringing his sons with us and his 7 year old took a 183lb bear. He was very proud of it. I enjoy running and treeing bear with the hounds, I would rather take photos of the bear and let them go. I guess I'am old school. I remember when I first started to hunt bear and how hard it was to find a track to run. I don't want to see those days return.

Real Houndsmen

That's who the top bearhunters are. To them it isn't the number of kills,it's all about the hounds. When I was a teenager and started to hunt bear,I was proud to get to lead a top bearhound,no matter who the owner was. But,it has always been bearhunters who will kill small bear and I have never understood that. My hat's off to all the real houndsmen.

Well bear season has come to a end. We had a great year, young dogs did a great job. Now it is time to put the coon hounds back in the woods. Hope everyone had a great year.

Took a hunt on Saturday night, with some freinds. They took their 14 month all blue hound out of my Diesel dog. He is doing a fine job. Keep him in the woods Cody.

Bill

I feel sorry for you guys with all that snow. You all have had a rough winter so far. We might of had 10" of snow so far. Ill give you a call one evening and talk to you about booking a bear hunt with you next year. Maybe I could bring a few mutts along to see if they can run a Maine bear. Talk to ya soon.

Hey Tom!

I've seen several pictures of you with some good looking hounds and I bet your girlfriend is jealous. Does she like hounds? The cold temps and snow sure puts a damper on our coonhunting but,I'm staying busy with the snow shovel. I hope to meet you and your Dad in a few days, weather permitting.

The cold weather and snow has slowed down the coon hunting for sure. Hopefully the weather will soon warm up. The pups are doing great we are feeding them puppy food morning and evening, and they are eating fine. They are still nursing some . I would say in another week she will wean them. Pups should be ready to go around the 28 of this month. See ya soon.

A lot of Jake's pups went to bear hunters, and they were jam up bear dogs. Good noses, stay power, good tree dogs, and they were not ill with other dogs.

Kenneth Flippen bred to your male didn't he???? Kenneth lives close to me, and he is a great guy. He knows how to hunt, and he knows how to handle a dog. If he can't train a hound, it can't be trained. He is quite, and laid-back, but he's at home in the woods. I really like Kenneth.

Thanks Craig for the kind words I've had a rough start on coyote but trapping should be over end if this month maybe I'll have some luck I think my problem is trying to find started dogs instead of working with what I have. as of right now I should have access to bear and hog in the fall and hope to put these 2 pups on them. Have you got your male ready for the hunts

When this weather breaks I want to meet up for a hunt. I haven't forgot about it just don't want to drive that far with poor conditions to hunt in.

I believe he is. I just need someone to hunt him for me. I would love to make Nt.Ch. out of him. I'll be wide open after next week. I'll be preaching quite a bit on the road. We need to go before the season closes.

He has one litter that is 11 months old and getting some good reports on them. Some are used on coon and some on big game. If interested in breeding to him ,just give me a call.
