visited with Lee Smith last evening and it was good fellowship as always. we talked about our similarities of going through this tick fever ourselves and our dogs as well. going to be praying for my friend and ask all my other friends to do so as well. please remember to say a prayer for me and ole Crocket too. this heat has a way of making tick diseases bring the worst out and its hard to keep a dog hunted up in these conditions.

Was so busy running the event that I forgot to take pictures of my nephew winning with Crocket. He also won the water race with one of Crocket's offspring Grace.

Crocket did an awesome job drifting a bad track away and got treed with a dying locate twice then rolled it over to that steady ringing chop. Oh I love listening to a ccoondog work up a bad track and have the meat!

Crocket made Grnitech at the age of 2 and did it in 11 hunts in 8 months from an open registered dog. Most of his wins were at big events but there were some at local clubs but always with competition. To date he has qualified for 5 world hunts , won his cast in 3 of them, has won 3 BBOA Zone 7 Championships, won his cast 2 times at Autumn Oaks, Double cast winner at the Ukc Winter Classic / high scoring dog, won the Bluetick Reunion RQE 1st place in Iowa, won runner up and cast winner at Bluetick Days in Kentucky, high scoring grnitech at Arkansas state hunt, won King of Hunt at the Texas State BBOA event, king of hunt at the Western Shootout BBOA vs Western English, king of hunt at the Bill Jackson Memorial, overall high score at the Western English spring classic, Boomer Sooner Classic Champion, and lots of other cast wins that I don't have room to put down. This year alone he has won in 7 different states. is currently tied at 1st place in the Black Gold Triple Crown Race and is only 1 cast win away from being tied for 1st in the Purina race. I didn't write this to brag on the dog but wanted give folks that might want to breed to a winner the chance to see some of his accomplishments. Like all other dogs he isn't perfect but I love this hound and what he has already accomplished and produced.

Poor fella over heated tonight so we go in the creek to cool off. This weather is hard on dogs and especially ones with erlicia.

this hound has a great nose and the brains to use it, good on layed up coon, fast on the ground, very independent, stay put pressure tree dog that you can tree at very long distances. oh yeah he is a great looking hound that is put together like they should be! the best part about him though is that he still competes and wins in the hunts at the ripe old age of 7.

He will be to himself all the time unless another dog trees with him. He is very accurate! Can't win as many hunts as he has unless your 1st on the tree and have the meat. Several folks have hunted with him this year and can tell all about him. His independence and accuracy is what Gary Uchtman said he liked the best about him. His pups are this way too. Not trying to sound like I'm bragging just telling it like it is without sugar coating things.

Had a wonderful hunt last night with my ole buddy Eddie Brizendine. We hunted till 4 this morning Crocket is getting rock hard. He did get snake bit last night though and has a swollen foot

Visited with Marvin a Kemp yesterday about the pups out of his Jazz female and Crocket. Just a few things that he noticed were their independent nature, smarts, and loud mouths. He said this was the loudest litter he has raised out of Jazz. I can't wait to get mine picked up

Man that crockett is one of the best looking males in my opinion. U are doing a good job with him...congrats on your wins! I have a bocephus female pup and if she turns out you will be the first one I call to see if they would compliment each other. Good luck in the future!

When Crocket gets treed I expect to see a coon every time. As coonhunters we know the reality is they are going to make mistakes and we won't always find the coon, but if my expectations weren't to see a coon every time he got treed I wouldn't be hunting him or offering him for stud.
