Hillbilly my grandpa told me at his farm auction years ago that his dairy cows were just like his boat, he was happy the day he bought it and just as happy the day he sold it.

are they amish folks

No the old man they used to call him the colonel. The crew consisted of 2 black men or women that arrived with a spray rig, they would grease them selves up with face cream to keep the paint from sticking to them. The colonel always drove a new pickup and delivered the paint and would scout jobs and bid. just an example he shot one large barn red, roof silver, did the granery and one other barn $1200 total. Done 5 years ago and still hasn't faded.

Colonel has passed and his nephew is running the show now.

that is alot of paintin for that price

Posted by micooner on 09-15-2014 06:08 AM:

I dont know how they can do it at that price but they come thru every summer thru michigan. They do a lot of the old metal roofs and grain bins..even the grain legs and downspouts. He said there main money was doing the grain elevators along the mississippi river the rest of the year.

We got some of them travelin' painters also had 'em from Missouri to Tennessee, some did a great job, others you could of used water colors & did a better job,one bunch would dicker on the price, but the lower they went the more they cut the paint.
