Dual Grand CH Moonlight Deana (litter mate to Aftershock, and Mother Of Breanna, Britt, and Amos) is in heat and at the Never gone facility preparing to be bred. The cross will be a complete outcross to a male from a long line of reproducers. Supercross???

Aren't Gr Nt Deanna, Gr Nt Big D and Gr Nt Shock all 3 littermates. That was a pretty good cross. The males sire and dam have both been on the reproducers list and were pretty nice coondogs themselves. This will be a complete outcross for all the fans of a coondog X coondog cross. Maybe one of those "hybrid vigor" coonhounds will come from this cross. Only time will tell.

That's correct Richard, and they also have another littermate who is a Nt.ch.
We have made some pretty concentrated line bred crosses and they are coming up in age now and we like what we see in many of them....but we also want to outcross and see if we can introduce a few new traits into the line we are hunting. With any luck one or two may stick in some of the offspring and then we can lock in those traits with more line breeding. It was a hard decision for Mr. Shabel on which way to go on an outcross with Deana who has already proven herself a reproducer of competition dogs that we like.....but after many hours of phone conversations with many different people getting first hand descriptions of each dogs ancestors and traits and a lot of time spent studying pedigrees and previous crosses....he chose a stud that he hopes will compliment Deana and the traits that she has shown to reproduce....and I must say that it is a good choice in my opinion as well. I own 3 pups out of Deana and like each one. Bree is from Big Time Bo x Deana, Amos is from Billy The Kid x Deana, and the youngest is Outlaw Jesse Jane and she is from Outlaw JJ jJr x Deana.....so as you can see I am a fan of Deana and what she reproduces. One of the things I look for in a reproducer is did they come from a good litter where at least 2 or more dogs showed themselves to be able to win and title out in competition and Deana is from such a litter and so is the sire of her next litter .....Moose

Look at the fun you can have with a top female that has proved she can reproduce pick a stud and if it works great then look to improve on that litter with a different stud the next time it will be fun mixing those 1/2 brothers and sisters in a few years ........
Boy will that cross have some strong females stacked in there ....

I think you can see where Bo will fit into this mix down the road when we need to line breed some of these females from the Red x Amber cross and the Moose x Deana cross to help lock in some of these traits we are trying to bring over from the Rabble line ......and there are plenty of other Rabble bred dogs out there to cross our females back to as well, like Haze, Boone, Rocky, Duece, Griz, Rage, and so on. Its nice to have plenty of options when you want to add some desirable traits to your preferred line .....

Well I like it should be a great out cross for both lines to breed back to in the future I am looking forward to seeing them in the woods

Mark, it opens up a lot of possibilities. I know where an exceptional young female off the Shock X Peanut cross is. She is in a great place and will be hunted hard this Fall/Winter. Everyone will hear a lot about her next year.

with some of the good crosses that are being made that I've been offered pups off of I have decided to wait for now

Planning on going to the state hunt this weekend with Bo will have to wait and see how the wife does with her chemo treatment this week
Liz..... Shane is in top secret mode he does this every so often then He starts sending me text with pics of win slips you know what they say a pic is worth a thousand words or in this case steps

Ugh I hate it when he does that LOL I got to sit and chat with Lisa for a while Friday night, wish I coulda stayed longer but I had a 3 1/2 hour drive home... That turned into 4 1/2 hours cuz I took a left somewhere when I shoulda taken a right but hopefully next time. Hope to hear from you soon Shane!

if Lynette feels up to going to the cabin for the weekend ill be at the state hunt if not there's a hunt just ten min from the house this weekend

Stayed home all weekend but like you Richard coon hunted by phone another double Kate pup got her first last night looks like three or four will title off this cross one has and two got wins
