Good luck with Bull. Isn't he out of Gr Nt Ch River Ridge Willow's first litter? It was 48 degrees when I got home this morning. I almost froze to death last night but Boone and Winnie sure do tree harder when it is cold. I made one drop in a big woods where the next road was 1 mile away according to the Garmin. Guess what, they treed 150 yds from that road right between 2 houses. A guy from one of the houses came out on his porch hollering something. He sure thought that they were loud.

Maybe Boone is finally learning how to tree these Tennessee coons. It took him an hour and he trailed 1.7 miles, according to the Garmin, but he finally put one up. The coon was balled up in the fork of an giant oak tree sound asleep and would not look but his tail was hanging down where I could see it. Oh yeah, when he got treed he was only 400 yds from the truck. Now that is some trailing. Up in Indiana all he had to do was get treed. But he has had an education in tracking since he came to Tennessee.

Last night was the last practice session for Boone. We are leaving in the morning for Greencastle. He did get a little reward for all his hard work however. We will rest up for the next two nights and hopefully be ready to go on Fri night. Then I will know if all of our hard work and late nights has paid off.

I talked to Buck today. It sounds like he and Wilma are ready to go. All he needs now is a traveling companion/back up handler.

Carlos, I hope that you get to feeling better. Bond, Jason has a wedding or he would be handling her. Linkous would be a great choice. P Mike has church on Sun morning.

Bond, they are trying to figure out what female that they can breed to Boone. Or they are all congratulating John Sr for having a Nighty Night Pepper Ann Grandson in the Finals.

Well Buckaroo took Wilma down to Elkton and tried his best but Lil Wilma just wouldn't cooperate. It looks/sounds like she is ready for another round of Doxycycline. At least Buck gave it his all and tried. You can't win if you don't enter. Thanks Buck, you tried. I guess that all of that sweat and late nights might have paid off for me. I guess that I will let Boone rest up tonight and then get back at it tomorrow night. There is no rest for the weary.

Posted by Richard Lambert on 09-22-2015 03:18 PM:

Bond, are you coming to Flora? Jason, the Doxy is on it's way. I ordered it and had it shipped directly to your house. Give her 2 pills in the morning and 2 at night for 30 days. That will either cure her or kill her one. I ordered a bunch so you will have a lot left over.

Posted by jguilliams on 09-22-2015 09:50 PM:

Sounds good. I need to go pick her up.

Has the Cartel done anything while I was gone? I know that Bond was busy officiating in Flora. I haven't seen any pictures posted by Buck or P Mike in forever. I wonder what has happened to their cameras? I let P Mike have a nice young female and I think that he has just quit hunting and become a carpenter. Surely he has his house finished by now. If not, maybe we need to all get together one weekend and have a house raising. What in the world has become of Sissy/Lolly? Buck, we had better get busy if we are going to go up to Vermont before it gets too cold and the snow sets in. The bear hunters are all going up that way this week or the next. Can Wilma still tree a coon or has she just quit? Is Wendy out of heat? Whatever happened to Carlos and Bear/Wanda? What is going on up there? I want to see some pictures. On another note, Lil Sheba is back home in Tennessee now. When she dries up, I will turn her loose.

I am not worried about the runnin being good, I have a coon dog. I am worried about the walking to them after they are treed. I don't want to get any frostbite.

Posted by Pastor Mike on 09-26-2015 05:08 PM:

Olé buck actually went hunting with us the other night. We seen a couple of coon. Even buck could see them so you know the coon were there.... I took a little video with my phone. Buck didn't have his camera and neither did Jason.

My house is still in the works. All the drywall is up and 2 coats of mud. Only problem is the wet weather this week slowed down the drying process. So, looks like Monday is the sanding day, then hopefully painting after that, then finish up electrical and then finish the trim. I have meetings tonight, tomorrow night and Monday night. So I'm out of the game for a few more days. Sissy is about ready.

Thanks John. And I know that you have a couple of super nice studs yourself. I will just bring a couple of pups up to Vermont. Fall/Winter is for pup training. I guess that Bond is back home now and his females are out of heat. I bet that the woods will be ringing with the sound of hound music around C-burg this week.

How about a couple of pictures? I can go out in my backyard after dark and make a video of a bunch of dogs barking.

It looks like this will be a busy month for the comp hunters in Va. Check has a hunt on Fri and Sat night. Burnt Chimney has one on the 9th. Pulaski has one on the 16th. Roanoke has one on the 24th. Hillsville has one on the 31st.
