Thanks Brian

While Travis has Bad News, Bandit is here getting the hunt alone program. Last night I took him and went for a walk not expecting much out of him.

He ended up getting treed 200yds away from me. I couldn't get there fast enough. He had one on the outside of a den. He wasn't knocking the top out of it, but he wasn't leaving it either. This dog is 8mo old and has treed 5 singles alone. A few more of those and he will be rockin'

I also got a video of a littermate to Brown treed on a den tree the other day. Nice loud mouth and treeing hard.

Turkey is doing his part for sure. Sam should be proud of his grand pups. I haven't had this much fun with Redbone pups in a long, long time.

Nt Ch Jims red amber is still 2 weeks from having pups and already fat as a butterball. This will be a deep hunting style of dog. Looking forward to seeing them a year from now. Chris, take care of ol bandito, I sure like that chewed up looking pup.

If you are in the market for a pup I would defiantly look for one out of Turkey. I like what I am seeing out of mine

Kent, I saw that video of your puppy treeing on coon scent. He's gonna be a lot fun to hunt.

Gr Nt Ch Crooked River Red Turkey Htx and his 11 month old son Bad News Brown treed on the edge of Crooked River tonight. It's been a lot of fun hunting brown for a month, he's a very impressive little dog. He'll be returning to Iowa soon and bandit will be back in MO. I'm looking forward to seeing the process he's made in Iowa.

Isn't it great to be able to swap them around and expose them to different terrain and handlers. It does them a world of good in the long run when you start traveling with them. It takes a team. The "one man dogs" are a thing of the past, unless you are just a pleasure hunter.

Posted by Travis O. on 09-23-2015 03:03 PM:

You're correct Richard. Good luck this weekend.

Turkey x Amber

What a good pedigree. Should be some dandies come out of that cross. Turkey is throwing some great pups. This fall will be a great time.

I took my Turkey x Shadow pup hunting last night. I do t even know how old he is probably around 5 months old for the first time last night. By the 3 rd dump he was going hunting and even ran some track. Looks like I might have a fun coon season this year watching him progress.

Thanks Travis

I appreciate you swapping me Brown for Bandit the last month. Brown looks awesome. Im going to throw him into some nite hunts in October. I think he can win.

Bandit is going to turn into a split tree machine here in a few months. 100% capable and independent. Turkey just keeps cranking out nice pups. Keep Turkey safe and keep getting those quality females to him.

I took bandit out last night after getting him home from Iowa, he treed 2 singles. Chris, thanks for working with him for the past month. I can't remember the last time I had an 8 month old tree 2 on a dry moonlit night

Chris, I don't know what you did to bandit. The awkward little pup went hunting alone tonight, he treed at 700 yards and stayed hooked until I made it to him. I couldn't believe it. He had a double in a huge pin oak tree. I couldn't be any happier with him.

If anyone is looking for a fun hunt come watch turkey put on a clinic right now. Travis has him in excellent shape and the acorns are perfect. I hunted with him last night and made 6 trees last night and we found coons in 5 of the 6 with that that one being a very large oak tree. Thanks for a great hunt Travis! Good luck with the pups they are some fat little butter balls!

Thanks Kyle, this is definitely turkeys time of year. He's the only dog I've seen that can tree coon after coon, 30 yards apart while the other dogs leave on the run. I'm glad you came up to hunt, we had a good time as always. Next time I'll drive like a little old lady so you're not so scared. Lol

Bandit treed 2 singles tonight, tracking is rough but he was able to finish both tracks. I received a report of an 11 month old female out of turkey x Nt ch death row abby treeing her own coon. I also received a call about a 5 month old female out of turkey x Nt ch skunk creek shadow running and treeing with his old walker dog. I have 2 female puppies available out of nt ch Jims red amber.

Bad News In Wisconsin

I took Brown hunting in Wisconsin last night after dropping off a pup. This is in the SW part of Wisconsin. For those that have never been there, picture the foothills of the Smokey Mountains. It is dry and very tough hunting.

Brown turned one yesterday and to celebrate that, he decided to split tree 275yds from my buddy Jesse Bedward's nice Treeing Walker male dog, Maker. Both dogs had coon and Brown held pressure for over 1/2 hr before I got there.

Second drop they treed one together around 800yds from us and had to go through some steep crap to get there as well. It is so dry you can literally see the dust in the air with you light on.

This pup is now a year old and can get it done anywhere, anytime with any dog. He is a tribute to what Turkey and Abby produce. The other pups in this litter are turning it on as well.

Also, awesome to see El Bandito getting it done down in MO.

Tough going here

These pups won't quit on you when it get tough out. Very dry here and tough tracking but Bad News made two trees in 50minutes last night. He takes them as he comes to them and gets deep if he has to. Two dying locates with a triple chop after the second one and he is done.

I've got him all tuned up for the big $20,000 Turkey pup hunt in Missouri this fall.

Do they have to tree the turkeys or just run them down and catch them? Does the pup that trees/catches the most turkeys win the $20,000?

Travis

Kill season officially starts tonight, but my best spots are still not able to be hunted because of the stinking gators.. I despise these things..! You guys up north got it made. No armadillos either, I tell you what I have seen more of, and that's skunks, I'm sure the coon are getting nervous now that your soon to have more time on your hands, which is right on time for Bandit.

Richard, Richard, Richard...you of all people should know how hard it is to catch a Turkey.

Chris, Wendy and I tried to catch one at Redbone Days in Olney one year but we couldn't.

Bad Luck Friday Nite

I put Brown in his second hunt Friday nite and he did a nice job.

Split treed in a big oak for circle points on drop one.

Second drop split again, pulled the older dogs to him off of their tree and the coon was seen, but it was after shine time was up.

Third drop he had first and first on a coon and the hunt ran out with the last drop.

He lost by 25 points and the cast winner picked up a first. Had a nice hunt with some classy guys. Brown's time for winning is coming. Really enjoying this 12mo old dog.

Dan my pup out of Turkey just shy of 6 months old ran a coon that we squalled out of a tree about 125 yds to a den tree by himself.

Snyder if you had one of those Chatterbox coon squaller a you would've won the cast.
