It is interesting that most of our dogs do have the same tree style......and a look about them. Who would have thought that.

I remember the hunt with sally, shadow and dixie. the pic up there with sally on the front of the tree and shadow with her head just on the other side of her.........well.....after a couple more minutes of them treeing, sally and shadow wedged themselves in that part of the tree and got stuck.......let's just say they never quit treeing....

Frog Dawg

Moose, Frog and Ruby. Ruby is a female owned by Henry Noss, she is out of Rabble and Sassy.....and a sister to shadow. we are hunting her for henry and will get her last cast win for him to finish her to Nite Ch. before we send her back up. Ruby is the dog with all four feet on the ground.

Yep, it's in the blood. The top picture is Moose and the next one is Chick. The third picture is Moose again and the last picture is Frog. Tom, you must have the names written on the back of the pictures. They all look alike on the tree. Now we can see where it comes from. I believe that they are die cast tree dogs.

I hear that Jason Gilliam's son, Andy, hunted Chick at the Va State hunt last night. Chick had 1st and 1st for a total of 450 pts on 2 den trees. His cast did not see a coon all night. Great job Andy, those momma coon will have to come out sometime. It sounds like you and Chick are going to be big time winners.

You're right Wendall, Leinie is a good looking female and she's good in the woods too. She is a very good athlete and has always been impressive to see and hear. She has a big mouth that carries a long ways and can hunt hard all night without hardly breaking a sweat.

Scott Brown owned her as a pup and put most all the hard work on her, training her alone without the aid of a lead dog and he did a real good job with her. She had more nose than brains as a young dog but when her brain caught up, she is tough on any track she comes to. We have listened to her track a long ways before other dogs would join in and she'd come up with the meat...and I like that.

Leinie is a full sister to Yank out of Rabble Rouser and Spice...that was a real good cross. Rabble and Spice were both out of old Rat...good stuff.

Those pictures are a real nice bit of history for us. We hunted old Go Man Sam for a few hide seasons up here in Wisconsin before Rich placed him somewhere else and Sam was a nice hound, nothing flashy but solid and with a good mouth. He was probably better in the bottoms than in the hills but that's where he was raised and that's the way it goes.

Going back to Sam and our old Dixie female we'd count the generations like this...

Thanks Tom for the history lesson I am lost when it comes to red dogs I am trying to get up to speed untill I got Willow I never had anything but a walker dog Buck rattles it off and like water on a ducks back

If Leinie is as good as she looks she is tuff I would love to hunt with her will maybe some day have you ever showed her

Lot's of good dogs back in these dogs history, that is for sure. they all could tree coon.

I guess I will be taking Frog to a hunt this weekend. We'll see how she does with strange dogs.
