Beating back the surging coronavirus crisis is a challenging, complex undertaking. How do we balance public health with the need to keep the businesses that pose the greatest threat of viral spread afloat? How do we safely socialize when the winter cold makes it harder to do so outdoors? How do we get a vaccine to enough Americans to reach herd immunity? But in at least one way, combating COVID is extremely simple: Wear a **** mask.

Wearing a face covering in public, particularly indoors and when social distancing is not possible, has been known for months to be one of the most effective mitigation strategies, short of a vaccine. Had Donald Trump encouraged their widespread use, rather than politicizing and rebelling against them, a great many lives could have been saved and the nation’s caseload heading into winter may not have been so perilously high.


In their first interview since winning the election, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris told CNN's Jake Tapper that they plan to take a different approach. The president-elect outlined the first steps his administration will take to bring the virus under control as it works to get the vaccines to Americans: Listen to experts, and ask the country to mask up for the first 100 days of his presidency. “Just 100 days to mask, not forever,” the president-elect told Tapper. “One hundred days. And I think we’ll see a significant reduction.”

Biden also crucially promised in the interview to receive the vaccine himself in a public event to assure a skeptical nation of its safety. “People have lost faith in the ability of the vaccine to work,” Biden said. “Already the numbers are really staggeringly low, and it matters what the president and vice president do.”

“That’s a good thing,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, who will serve as Biden's chief medical adviser, said on the Today Show Friday, of Biden’s promise to get his COVID shots in public. “Having an extraordinarily efficacious vaccine, like we do have, for sure, 94, 95 percent efficacious, doesn’t mean anything if people [don’t] get vaccinated.”

While Biden and Fauci can preach common sense, convincing Americans, particularly those who will remain under Trump’s spell even after he leaves office, won't be easy. The country has already endured more than 275,000 deaths, with an uptick on the way—as Fauci said Friday, the United States likely hasn’t even hit its post-Thanksgiving peak yet. Without significant change, both in the government response and among individual Americans, things are only going to get worse. “We’re in a very precarious situation right now,” Fauci said. “There certainly is light at the end of the tunnel with a vaccine, but we’re not there yet.”

Oh my goodness, Biden's solution to the panicdemic is to ask everyone to wear a mask. Now that should end it. That is all that it will take. That Biden is on the ball. He will sure save a lot of lives.

The Supreme Court has rejected a suit from the Texas attorney general — backed by the Trump campaign as well as 126 Republican members of Congress — to overturn the 2020 election by nixing the results in four key swing states.

The last-ditch legal ploy to throw out the results of the democratic process that has made Democrat Joe Biden president-elect was the second time this week the high court rebuffed Republican efforts to undo the will of American voters.


The electoral college that will choose the next president will convene on Monday. More than 300 of those electors are pledged to Mr Biden, more than enough to clinch the 270 he needs to become the 46th president.

The nine justices — three of whom were nominated by Donald Trump over the last four years and confirmed by a GOP Senate — dismissed the case on the grounds that Texas did not have legal standing to challenge how another state ran its elections.


“Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another state conducts its elections,” the court wrote in a bare-bones order on Friday.

Texas attorney general Ken Paxton launched his legal challenge last week against the key swing states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — all of which broke for Mr Biden by thin margins — over the integrity of their election processes.

Mr Paxton claimed that the Covid-related changes to election procedures in those states violated federal law, and he was asking the court to block those states in the electoral college. Doing so would have given Mr Trump a narrow advantage in the electoral college, but not the 270 votes to become president. Instead, state delegations to the US House of Representatives would have chosen the next president. Republicans will control more state delegations than Democrats next Congress even though Democrats will retain a slight overall majority.

In the months leading up to the election and the weeks since, Republicans have made baseless claims of widespread voter fraud. Dozens of state and federal courts dismissed legal challenge after legal challenge brought by Republicans questioning state and local election processes, with judges pointing to the paucity — or, often, the complete lack — of substantiating evidence.

Seventeen other GOP state attorneys general signed onto Mr Paxton’s late challenge to the election results.

The four states whose election results were targeted in the lawsuit fired back that the results would be a dagger to American democracy.

“Texas seeks to invalidate elections in four states for yielding results with which it disagrees,” Pennsylvania attorney general Josh Shapiro wrote to the court against Mr Paxton’s suit.

“Its request for this court to exercise its original jurisdiction and then anoint Texas’s preferred candidate for president is legally indefensible and is an affront to principles of constitutional democracy.”

Now what in the world does the above copy/paste have to do with Biden?

Biden admitted at his news conference yesterday that he had no response to the Covid Virus. He said himself that "the darkest days are ahead". I guess that Biden realizes that President Trump did a great job controlling the virus but even with the vaccine he has no idea what to do besides "please, wear your mask".

Bidens people in China are still fighting the virus, Bidens only plan is to scare the libtards into complete solitude. A coward leading cowards ain't good

Oh my goodness, President Trump must have come out of his bunker to order 100 million more doses of the Trump vaccine from Phizer. I guess he thought that he had better do it because Biden is not going to do anything but ask everyone to wear a mask. President Trump also signed a deal for more therapeutics to treat severe cases of the China Virus. President Trump continues to actually fight the China Virus while Biden only says "please wear your mask" and "the darkest days are ahead" after I take over. I wonder why Biden hasn't said a word about how he will order and distribute the Trump vaccine? All he has said is, "please wear your mask".
