Pastor Mike,

Through some circumstances, I now own half of Vixen with Rob and Katina. I am very excited to start training and I look forward to her being a huge part of my kennel. If she has it in her, she will for sure finish out. I thought I would just let you know that she is going to be competition hunted and I am really excited about getting her.

Hey Barnyard.......did you make it to Wabash today?......without pushing that truck.....

On a lighter note......my dad and I did a little more training for Lacy (hazeXreba pup) and a little male that I call Jo-Jo (yankXshadow). I made the drag about 150 yards this time, wanted to see how lacy would do by having to work pretty hard this time. The training went good. Lacy trailed pretty good and stayed with it, Jo-Jo trailed for a little ways, came back and then went back in as Lacy was locating the tree. I always seem to forget the camera but both dogs treed nicely and I was very pleased with Lacy and her progress. They will both have another opportunity on Monday.

Sounds like lacey's doing well , well weather has cleared up looks like but looking like the heat is here to stay though went out about two hours last night but it was just so hot even though I waited til 10 pm to go out . Saw the pictures buck posted of haze in the hotel , man that dude was living it up wasn't he , lol .

hi Keith. yes, lacy is doing well for the exposure that she has had. It's hot here for this week but it may cool off some around the weekend, if it does, I will be messing with her again.

Haze is back to normal so to speak. It looked like he had gained weight from eating the buffet with buck and Delcamp.

Took Frog out for a drop last night. Never could get a decent track. She struck on cold track and moved it up toward the mountain, but couldn't get it finished. I turned on my video camera for a minute when she was starting up toward the mountain to see if I could get her track mouth recorded, it actually turned out pretty good. I will get a link posted tonight or tomorrow of that.

The pollen is in full swing now and it was rough last night. Guess its time for me to hunt in a mask again so I can breathe.

I got an excellent report on Friday night. The guy said he is doing very well. Very tree minded and doesn’t get caught up on hang-ups in the woods. He said that his partner doesn’t compliment dogs much but said he loves the way this dog trees and would defiantly feed him in his kennel for himself. He said he stands his ground on the tree and loves coons. I cant wait to get him back and try him out for myself. The guy said he is going to try to get a couple of coon or more out to him in the next couple of weeks. He said he took him out in the wild with a walker female the other night and barked twice on a track and then treed and had the coon and left the other dog hangin on the track. We are going to pick him up in two weeks, so the guy said he should progress even more by then.

Also Mike a report on the male we have here. He's hunting out real good and treed the second night in the woods. Looks like he is going to be a treeeeeee Doggggg. Hearing him is not going to be a problem he has one super nice mouth.

That's great to hear Roger. I hope these young dogs continue to keep coming on strong this year. I would say that folks will have a lot of fun this fall with them and by early spring next year they will be something to be reckoned with in the hunts. Good stuff for sure.

Last night I took my new video camera that Allison bought me. Even though we didn't have a good tree to get some video, I got close enough to Frog to try and get her opening on track before she got up on the mountain. So, lets give it a try. Here is the link for the video. The video is about one minutes and 20 seconds but all of the barking is in the first 51 seconds.

Lucky Update

Mike, we had a decent hunt last night but the tracks seem to be tough or nonexistent now. We treed one and saw it, he was one of those coons that you hate to see in a hunt. He teased me for about 30 seconds, so no reward for Lucky last night.

Lucky is still solo'ing it, and will be for the rest of the summer. Mosquitoes are back, briars are getting thick...my kind of hunting.

That's good Noah. It's tough here too. Sows are starting to lay up to have little ones I think. Not much track stuff happening right now. Did you get a chance to listen to Frog on an old cold track yet. Here is the link.

Probably so Noah. Haze is only bawl on track. He won't chop on the ground. The cool thing about Frog when she is on a track.....she is really telling a story about what's happening. It's pretty neat. Should be going tonight, hopefully we'll get a good track close enough that I can get it on the camera again......and just maybe if I can get these old legs moving fast enough to keep up, I would love to get her locate and roll over. we'll see how it shapes up. Suppose to be a little windy tonight.

Keith.....I'm not sure what brand of camera Buck uses for pictures. I have been fortunate enough to inherit my wife's "old" camera......it's a Nikon D-70. It's a great camera and I can snap picture after picture without a delay. I guess it's good to be married to a woman who does photography on the side....eh?

Took "The Frog Dawg" out tonight. After a slow start it seemed like, she finally got struck but it was another stinkin' cold track. Just can't seem to find a good track.....anyway.....she worked that old track, moved it, located and came treed. I walked up there and she was on a small tree that went straight up into a what we call a "georgia pine." It's not a white pine, but this one you can usually find places to see all the limbs. well, she had the coon, it was balled up in a fork on a limb and looked like he had been there a while. I got some video after i found the coon but she was already getting hot. Once I figure how to edit the footage a little, I will post a link to watch. good stuff.

Well, if it was season......then sure, but it took me about 5 minutes to find the coon as thick as it was, then I took about 6 minutes of video, so the file is a little big, I have to thin it out, so to speak.
