Great news about your wife, hope all continues well for everyone.
On your second point. People are funny, when I witness some of the stuff I see happen at the hunts and on the board I just keep a little mental file , I call it "file 13" and it's for those folks I just decide that I won't have any dealings with. I admit there are not a lot of names in it and I hope it stays that way. lol . I'm sure I'm probably in someone's file 13 myself . Just goes to show we all can't please everyone all the time.

Shane buddy the info I was forwarded had nothing to do with you or line I think your still his main squeeze but he is cheating on you with some others he definitely isn't line blind on that

I found a coon frozen to death on the side of the road. I hung it up for my young Bubba pup and he treed on it . Does that count. LOL

Whether its about me or my line of dogs this time...or last, its a pattern with this guy to target particular people and certain lines of dogs in the redbone breed and talk bad about them. I guess it would be different if it were criticism in a way that was useful or helpful to the breed...but its more like a vendetta against people he doesn't agree with and the line of dogs they hunt. Most people already know how the guy is and I see very few people who ever post on any of his threads....but I worry about new people just coming into the breed having a very bad experience with this guy or having their first redbone ruined at his hands.
It bothers me a little to think about that, but I got it off my chest and I am on to more important things.
One of the best things we can do as a breed is try to help one another to produce better redbones, but also represent our breed with integrity. Working together to help those with less experience in our breed to learn what those of us who have been in the breed for many years have learned is an important part of this breed growing and improving.
I see a lot of people from other breeds wanting to make the switch to redbones. I think this is a good thing. If we can put a well bred pup in their hands that will make a good dog someday, or give or sell them a really good prospect...they may be hooked for life like most of us are.
I do have some good news on Breanna, as Mark hinted to, I take her for walks everyday to try to build her muscles up in the leg she had operated on. Every day we go a little further back across the field behind my house and yesterday we made it to the woods. Bree took off through that woods and got about 300 deep before I knew it and I heard her open. It was about noon and I had to get back to the house soon to get ready for work so I headed that way to see what she was doing. I heard her open a few more times and as I got closer I could see her trailing in an area that had several beech den trees and a lot of big old growth maples and oaks. When I started searching the tree tops I saw a coon laying out about half way up a den tree in the bright sun light. As she trailed over and got closer to the tree he was in I took a few steps and a limb I stepped on cracked and that coon looked right at me. Then Bree located that tree and I watched as the coon walked back down the limb and crawl into his hole. Bree flipped over to a hard steady chop like she always does and I listened to her tree for about 5 minutes. I have been very worried that having her hip removed may prevent her from ever being much of a hunting dog again...but aside from standing at the base of tree instead of up on the side...she looked and sounded like the same old dog. I am very happy for her, because she loves to hunt and now it looks like she will be able to do that in the future.

Mark, Ryan and I were talking about that hunt at Lisbon. We used to always kick off the year there. That was back in the day, you remember.
We might just come down . Should we bring some sun tan lotion , just how hot is it suppose to be sat. night.

Richard, you have it partially right. It was back when I had a lot more dog on the end of the leash. I still hunt if I figure I can win. Never know I might just show up at Lisbon this weekend.

Kelly I was just informed the kids and some friends have a party planed for sat night at the horse track and casino across the river in wv for the wife so I won't make Lisbon
In the day Bessemer pa LisbonRQE beaver pa RQE and Ashland blue tic hunt started the year after those three straight weekends you knew if you waisted your time on the wrong one that fall

My coon hunting buddys had my wife signed a contract that was witnessed and noiterised the day of my wedding that I could hunt any time or place I wished with no time in the penally box

Got another Moonlight bred dog here at the house to check out while I am helping his owners get some semen stored on him.
Dual Grand Ch. RipSaw....direct son of C.D. x Pepper Ann and I gotta say...he is one of the best looking and best put together dogs I have ever seen. I can also tell he has a heck of a good mouth on him. He is a littermate to the mother of Jared's Boone dog. I was given permission to unleash this beast so later this week I intend to do just that!
I have been very impressed with his half sister Toadie after hunting with her many times last year. I think Kieth is planning a half brother/ half sister cross between the two so I will try to get some video of Rip while I have him here and put it up on the this thread for those who might be interested in him.

Back when I was younger, I would hunt anything. Now I have to conserve my energy so I am a lot more selective in what I hunt. Mark, I have a contract like that. It is one of the few things that I got to keep in the divorce.

Breanna is recovering quickly from having her hip removed. still not using that leg very much in the yard but when I take her for walks in the daytime she is having to use it more to get around and over down trees and branches in the woods. She has even treed a couple of those daylight coons....not the kind in a cage...but real live wild ones.
So I think I will take her for a couple drops tonight after work and see how she handles it. She needs to build those muscles up...but just dont want her to go too hard and have a set back....and after being laid up for the past few months...she seems like she is stuck in overdrive!

Well, I was pretty happy with Breanna last night. it was 13 degrees by the time I got out after work and we still have about 6 inches of crusty snow in the woods. I only cut her once and she went through a good sized woods on the road and never made a bark....then left out the back and went about a half mile and treed a den in a woods on the next road. Did not seem sore today so I may make a couple of drops our next go round.

I don't think it will. Vet says all the internal puppy producing parts look fine and that she should be able to produce pups with no problems.

I don't have anything I want to turn loose of at the moment...but maybe someone else on the board does. I usually keep a couple of good dogs and 2-3 pups that are coming up and thats about all I can hunt right. Good luck and I hope you find a nice female...Shane

shane i was wondering when u plan to have some more pups out of the billy the kid semeni bred my female to rocky hollow pepper and would like a pup out of billy the kid i know im thinking to far ahead but with that kinda blood how could u go wrong best female i ever had was a grand daughter to billy the kid i put down 58 in 4 nights to her when i lived up in indiana she was 9 months old then i sold her to paul and allen gingerich worst thing i ever did as far as coonhunting

Not for sure when the next litter will be. I will only use that semen on the very best females. I don't believe in making repeat crosses and all of our females have either been bred to Billy or are daughters out of Billy...so if someone has a top Grand Nite female (or a Nt.CH. who is on the way to grand...let me know and maybe would be a cross worth making

ok i dont blame for holding out for just select females i have a nt champion female but she is not to flashy she was bred to after shock before i bought her and i have bred her to rocky hollow pepper that other female i was talking about was one of the last to breed to yellow river rocky have u bred any females to a pepper bred female
