sounds like they have a nice ride it's hard to find a nice used car that they don't want twice what it's worth or that is the way most are here

I think they gave $7400.00 for it , Only thing wrong with it was high mileage 170,000 miles, but it was garage kept and well maintained .

if they kept the oil chaged and did all the matince like they should that mileage don't hurt these newer cars

You ain't wrong there HB,the mechanics around here say some of them motors if serviced right can get 300,000 mi. plus,I got 233,000 on my '95 Chevrolet,I'm the 2nd owner,so far the ole gal runs good.

Posted by micooner on 01-28-2015 07:51 PM:

I've got 338000 miles on my 2003 ford f150 when it hits 400000 Ill get a new one lol

WHAT MOTOR IS THAT COONER?

That is alot of miles.

Thanks Jeff

Posted by micooner on 01-28-2015 09:00 PM:

It s the 4.6 Really been a good truck,,box is rusted some along with the quarter panel. but nothing major, changed out front hubs, one transfer case at 230000 miles, then the normal brakes and tires.

My brother-in-law's brother had a ford 4x4 that hit 300,000 when he got rid of it & the body was still in good shape,I believe he liked it better than his new one.My ole pickup's body is still in good shape,I'll keep it for a spare when I get another one,got my eye on a '07 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevrolet Silverado. We cut roadside brush today at twp.,Vic come by ta check us out & gave us the thumbs up,got plenty to do, my helper does a good job as a woodsman.

never had a 4.6 best motor ford ever had was the 300 6 cyl td you better get ya a ford and be in the click lol

Posted by micooner on 01-29-2015 04:45 AM:

HB you got that right that 300 straight 6 would run an run, When I was farming I always thought if a guy could get a pickup with the 4 cylinder perkins diesel he would really have a long runner lol put ya a little turbo on it an go.

Posted by bigtimberkennel on 01-29-2015 11:48 AM:

What up holmes? Got 41 this mornin',but ain't suppose ta last.HB I can't never find a Ford that will stay runnin' for me,I like 'em but they must not like me,that Perkins diesel is what's in my little Massey 180,now that would make a run a long time vehicle.

Posted by Jeff Ashmore on 01-29-2015 02:03 PM:

Perkins makes a fine diesal.

They are a sweet motor. I knew a guy that put one in IH 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive pickup, motor was out of street sweeper. last I knew he was still driving it. I like that massey Tony has might have to own one day when the old m quits.

Jeff
