Hellcat is from florida but I can answer that question for ya. No they are not only used on big game, they are used for anything. Coon, bobcat, lion, bear are the main things I have heard of them on. I live in south central Iowa and bought a pup last winter to start on coon. she is doin great so far.

[B]some people might say these arent big game animals but i do, i know its not no bear or lion but its the best i got lol.

I don't see how you not consider yotes big game. For those who don't -- they should think about all the game left that these bad boys aren't gonna get their teeth in!!

Nice pick, like your dogs.

thanks, ya they are alot tougher than people think, ive seen some pretty nasty fights and some pretty cut up dogs, tho i have never seen one killed by a yote after a fight, im sure if my little girl were to go near a den because they have pups now, that i wouldnt see her again, gotta get her to the pen just so she can see some more live ones, hope they dont team up on her, there are lots in that pen, but its all part of the game i guess.

One of my favorite dogs.

Me poking bear with stick when I was young and dumb.

Ouch. The two dogs on the butt have a little lightfoot in them, but not enough to call them lightfoots.

Training exercises.

Branch505 - that's outstanding, Amigo!!! I'm glad to hear that they are making ya happy! :-] Hope they grow up to make gooduns for you guys. :-) Give me a call someday when you get some time and let me know how they're doing.

Here's a pic from last week of a P.O.'d little boar bear that really didn't appreciate us very much.

This was my oldest boy's first bear. We were hunting with my buddy Cotton Tidwell and his dogs, and we caught this one on Gazelle Mountain, near Yreka, CA in the fall of 2004.

A good hound dog will give his life for you. To return the favor is the least you can do.

Damage Control

We went out last weekend on a damage control cat. The governement trapper never called the landowners back so we went up to help our friend who has a bunch of young inexperienced pups. We took Brisco, Mabel and Jack. This was Jack's first longtail... This pup impresses me more and more everytime I turn him loose... Don't they say your ugliest one is always your keeper....

Here is a young tom perched unhappily in the tree.

A few of the reasons why he was unhappy. Mabel is on the log and I have Brisco leased up and ready to pull off. The other dogs you see are half brothers to Brisco and Mabel

Here are some of the dogs pulled off the tree. Jack is the closest.

And last is the picture of the cat with 4 of the 5 animals he killled. We never did find the 5th lamb. The 3 rams were killed and left where they fell. Sport killing. We found the partially eaten lamb buried by where we started the cat.
From left to right is our friend Tim with 2 of his pups, then Brisco, Mabel, Jack and me.
