memory fails me as to who saigons mother was.
saigon was bred to a direct daugher of pacman to produce psycho.she was a littermate sister to awesome annie and charlie manson.their mother was a direct daughter of old shep
psycho was then bred to another direct daughter of pacman to produce ajax.ajax was 3 in march and psycho 7 in feb.i dont have ajax here anymore but i do have psycho if anyone cares to see him go.
there are several reasons i hunt this line of dogs.they seem to be more personable than most.they try real hard to please you.when you take them off a tree and scratch their ears and give them a pat on the head they respond much better than any amount of coon you could kill to them.you cut them again and they just cant wait to tree another one to get that praise.
most of these pups ive fooled with have had one thing in common.they start early and from the very first coon they tree, they take pressure.when they tree they stay.
most have decent mouths and good noses and will go hunting.they seem to be real smart and when you have a pup with a head full of brains, everything seems to come easy.
i have been hunting a pair of 15 mnth old females that are off an old male from the pacman/dusty(shep)cross and a nailor/handsome harry gyp that have got me excited about coonhunting again.they are unbelievable.
Redtick I have drawed pac an several of Russ dogs in the hunts over the years an you can bet the farm on one thing IT WILL NOT BE A ME TO DOG.

I live in Indiana and I have saw some exceptional Bellar Dogs. They are extremely fast and accurate but, they go a little too deep for my liking. Isn't there a dog still directly out of ole pac-man named something like Virginia Power Pac. I believe he was studded in C.B. a year ago or so. If my memory serves me right, he was clover bred on one side too. What happened to Snac-Pac years ago?

Making them Walker Dawgs Nervous..........
I have a grandson of Pac-Man. His is thirteen months old and is going good. He will go as far as it takes. He is out of Chuck Clivers hawk dog and Grand Nite bitch out of Babes Stylish Banjo. He has never offer to run junk.
Thanks Elvis. Where in Indiana do you live? How is the rest of that litter doing? (of the 15 month old females) Will the cross be made again?
RiverRat....I remember the Snac Pac dog from the magazines. Wasn't he the youngest Gr. Nt. Ch. (13 months) at that time? I don't know what happened to him, though.

Shadow was out of Yadkin River Champ X Shaw's Judy ..... Sound familiar?????

Just for the record, the win on the dog that didn't know was Saigon or not was credited to Saigon. The point is that there is a big question on how many wins this dog had was legitimate? I know of one that wasn't. And another point is why Russ Bellar would have a Hells Angel handle a dog for him? Those folks don't have the same reputation as say, an Eagle Scout would have.

I sure wouldn't get on the internet and bad mouth the Hell's Angel's.The whole world can read this stuff and some folks might not like what you said.
I liked the deer pictures in the article. That was a whopper buck he had!
He's had a lot of nice dogs. He must be doing something right with his dogs.

Same old song just a different day, Redtick you posted false accusations of the English days hunt, (a breed hunt of the breed you hunt) and now you post about getting beat and another mean dog accusation. You better watch out this man don't play your games, you may find that he has the backbone and money to make you back up your statements.
Most of us wish we'd been in as many World Championships as this man and his hounds, let alone win that many. The article was another outstanding peice of work by the "Lady with the Visor".

Thanks Elvis, this certianly should establish a "line" of hounds. I am still not clear on how many generations establish a "line".
My inquiry was to hopefully add to the subject. Not to imply anything negative. Jest trying to "git educated"
Jim, your probably right, that guy was probably just one of Russ' handlers and Retick probably started his stuff and the guy figured he'd do him one better and made the Hells Angels his club and it worked. LOL
Redtick, do you have that hunt on video?

Pic-Pac Pickles is a Platinum Ch. with over $55,000 won in PKC and is a Nite Ch. in UKC. She is a granddaughter of Pac-Man. At 10 years old, she still hunts HARD every night she is turned loose. She won the 2000 PKC Nationals and finished 2nd one other year. I'll take all of the Bellar line I can get.
Thanks to Vickie Lamb and Russ for their article last month.

Snac Pac..assuming there was only one was down here for a couple of months. I hunted with him several times. Lee Weatherford bought him at 13 months old as a Nite Ch with 4 wins. He had 5 win slips but one was thrown out because the MOH had let his license lapse. He was a real hard tree dog at that time (Lee ran an ad on him stating that the 1st hour he was treed, he would bark over 5000 times, which you would think of as a boast but was an understatement) but I don't think he could trail a coon. If I remember right, we looked at exactly 1 coon in 31 nights of hunting. I believe he was part of the deal that brought Piney Hill Sam back down here.
OK..back to why that was an understatement. Snac was a 140 bark a minute tree dog for about 30 minutes and then slowed down to about 120. Do the math.
Sorry about bringing this one back from the archives.

I think Shadow was off of Champ. She had a tan head , all white body with one small gray spot on her side.

Every one needs an excuse for being out classed. Don't feel bad redtick ur not the first to have there breaks beat off by a bellar dog. Wont be the last either. My theory is if u can't beat'um join'um that's why I keep a bellar bred on the end of my leash.
PS : I have met and hunted with Russ and Elvis both and they were first class in every way!!!
Is this article in the July Cooner? Back several years ago, I hunted with several of Bellars dogs, Deamon, Striker, Pac, in Pkc hunts and the old acha hunts. All they did was tree coons and beat me most of the times. What most hunters dont realize and do is that these dogs and handlers were like athletes. They trained hard and came prepared to beat everybody else. I used to wonder how some dogs and handlers are always winning; it took a while to feagure it out.
