People breed too much for papers these days and not for coondogs. Bone has proven that all grand means nothing

I wish people would get rid of the all grand attitude and breed for coondogs, the breed would be alot better. The all grand attitude has put more culls in the breed than almost any other factor lately. JMO

Depends on what female u back up to him, I have hunted with some pups off him that were early starters and were doing good young with a lot of independency, I bred my female to him my pups came out kinda like she was really late starters. 14 months before they would have anything to do with a coon, but they are all starting/progressing and are prob farther along than most pups their age that did start at 6 or 7 months, dead independent teach theirselves to track and tree with a very high accuracy percentage if u can put a percentage on that. Yes it does make it hard to train them when u can't use an old dog to train them, but that should be what people look for is a pup that will show u it's ability and not the other dogs ability that it is hunting with,

Tax Collector

Bone is a coon dog bar none. Doug is second to none he is one of the most down to earth people you will ever meet and will take you hunting with bone anytime. I have hunted with several bone dogs that were nice. I have owned 2 bone dog's. The first one was a nice dog big hunter, accurate, and independent and he was 11 months old. Tax is the best dog I have ever owned he is a coon treer and can hold all the pressure in the world. A once in a lifetime hound. Tax had 675+ at the UKC Winter Classic Saturday night. No minus No circle.

That is also what I'm seeing and hearing. His bigger pups sometimes start later. That the ones that want to have a coon don't make as many trees as the Rat Gen of walker hunters would like and may sell them before they really start to trun it on. Most seem to have good mouths and like to have a coon.

Bone will be 6 years old in May!!!

Taken him off stud for a period of time to get some more seman stored. ( Hard to do with females coming all the time, only way I see to do it.)

Congrats Randy on your win!!!!!

Just like all Stud dogs you get some Good ones, A few Great ones,
and some culls ( I know what to do with them)

Thanks for all the interest in Bone, Hope I answered some of yalls questions.

I think bones offspring are going to make a positive impact on the breed. They can win without the owners having to settle for yappy mouth babblers to get it done. The only thing thats gonna hold this dog back as a producer is his location and his owner seems to be to honest to be a good promoter.

I just picked up an 8 week old Bone gyp and am looking forward to seeing how she turns out. Lovely little lady that has already let her voice be heard in the yard at my daughters cat.
