Zone hunt

Boone won his Grand Night cast with 650+ last night in Marshall at the zone hunt. There were 3 Grand night entry's. We saw a lot of coons and and we're able to pull won out against a great English hound and a nice Walker female. Had a great hunt. This also qualified Boone for the male Zone 1 winner. Thanks to the guys in Marshall for putting on a great hunt. Met and talked to some new great people. Thanks again.

Getting ready

I called a UKC yesterday and Boone should be a performance sire within the next couple of weeks.

On another note. Hunting has been tough here for the last week or so. We were still scraping up one or two a night though. We went on Friday night and the coons are really starting to move. I beleive we are in the begining of the rut. We treed five and shot four. Three of these were boars and they all were swollen. The rut is about 2 weeks earlier than normal but this explains the tough conditions for the last couple of weeks.

Hopefully my female will come in heat soon. I am ready for a pup. But if she don't I may need to borrow someone's nice female to help me out. I would like a pup or two by spring.

I know this sound's way off but, Boone will be added back into the mix in a few year's. We have a few young gun's doing a great job. When finished out we will be coming your way.

He was just over 2 years old Richard. But yes he still did it 7 months with some pretty decent competion. I am very pround of each win. It was cool to see how he progressed in the short 7 months. Four of these wins were even done by a different handler with never a question on the card and no major arguments in any cast. We had real good time doing this and it's such a nice joy knowing what you got when you turn him loose. It's nice to see consistency and growth in a nice hound.

Boone would have finished sooner, but he was still training his first handler back then

, then he trained his family, then a guy from Tennessee bought him, Boone trained him too. What a great dog.
