-- Grand Nite CH. Post Oak Thunder (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928331675)

Posted by Ben Ross on 12-28-2013 03:15 AM:

I have hunted with thunder

He can flat get under a coon
I wonder what Larry is hunting now

Posted by James Garrison on 12-28-2013 02:33 PM:

Larry is hunting a young dog out of Thunder. He was out Christmas eve, 17 degrees, with a ole boy that had a grand nite ch. walker male. The walker never got a bark on a track when Larrys young dog come treed with an 18 lb. boar coon.

I really enjoyed spectating when Larry hit a few hunts

He treed coon each dump and was sure sharp about doing it
I hope he comes back to penfield with a young dog outta thunder I'll gladly guide the cast again

thunder

Jim, What kind of mouth does he have, I owned Hooker and she was all chop mouth track/tree, super fast on track and a good solid tree dog.(littermate to sarge 2). Thanks Mark

Posted by James Garrison on 01-27-2014 02:45 PM:

Mark, he has an average bawl and chop on track, but he is the hardest treeing plott I have ever heard when he is treed right and knows hes got him.

Thunder

I took Warren and Thunder out for a hunt Friday night. Old Thunder looked real good, treed the first dump with my female and got one by himself on the second dump.
We didn't stay out long as I didn't want to tire Warren out, of coarse he said " We need to get out at least once in the middle of the week". That old man is tough and he's leading a good hound!!!! Jim.

Posted by James Garrison on 05-13-2014 01:32 PM:

I'am glad your keeping them both in shape, I'll be down one of these nights.

Is anyone going to hunt Thunder in the Grand Nites at Autumn Oaks? I would love to see him win it all.

Posted by JKumberg on 08-10-2014 08:42 PM:

Oaks

I think Jim has him entered, if his (Jim's) old back and crippled knee can hold up !!!!!

Just kidding Jim, Warren told me you was in a lot of pain at Plott days. Hope you get limbered up, Jim K.

Posted by James Garrison on 08-11-2014 02:57 PM:

If I take enough pain pills I can make it unless we go on one of those " He's in there a mile" hikes! Ha! Iam going to take him by himself tonite for a pretty good hunt. This wheather is pretty good for this time of year.

That is great. But he has been known to get on in there aways. We may draw out together. He has hunted with my female before.

Posted by James Garrison on 08-12-2014 02:08 PM:

Thunder and I went last night under the fullest moon I have ever seen, actually it was very pretty. He struck an old cold track that went through a large corn field. He struggled to get it out of there but when he did he picked up steam alittle across a bean field and treed on an old two hundred year old looking maple tree. I was standing down in the creek and gave a small squal and it lit up like a Christmas tree. He has at least three different mouths on an old cold track when he is working one. We will try to get back out Wed. night.
