Missed One!!!

Sorry, but I missed a dog that produced 2 Top 4 World Hunt (English) dogs. Merk's Singing Tapp produced Woodstock Red Man, and Little Swanging Tapp (both placed 3rd in World Hunts).

I shouldn't have missed this when I'm hunting a female that is loaded up on Woodstock Red Man, Little Swanging Tapp, and Tapp Root Judy (littermate to Red Man). But, that's probably because I look at it as "Goose" blood. My mistake!

So, the list of English stud dogs that have produced multiple Top-4 World Hunt dogs stands at:
(1) Hardtime Speck
(2) Boyd's Little Joe
(3) Merk's Singing Tapp
(4) Main Street Jack

But, the point remains the same. We're talking about a living stud dog that is reproducing at a level that hasn't been seen in our breed for about 3 decades. The other 3 (Speck, Joe, Tapp) were old or dead before they reached this level.

Again, VERY impressive! That's some good company to be in, it's the best in our breed ever according to world champions produced! I look for him to have another, but you never know when (he may be gone by then). People better get some if they want the highest percentage of producing a better hound in their program!!!

i would say

Its bc that reproducer list is based on champion d.egrees...which includes nt and grnt at local hunts...not throwing stones here but we all have seen how some of these local hunts go...one cast could very well consist or multiple cast consist of dogs out of the same stud..playing the numbers so to speak...and this goes for and dog from any owner of and breed...this post is talking about major hunts top 20 and final four and wldch. English contenders...anybody can correct me if im wrong

Jack!

My son and I own a male out of Jack. I started hunting him on coon. He loved running bear, so I gave up on coonhunting him and have been bear hunting him for the last 5 years. He is very cold nosed, and SMART. He can jump a bear when most can't go any more. He slips away alot of times and get's a bear treed alone. Travis has treed 4 bobcats with him so far this winter also. Jack can produce game dogs not just coondogs. Winners not only come from nite hunts, they also come frome the deep dark timber and Jack produces winners.

Main Street Jack

TTT.

Just learned about Jack passing. Thought it would be appropriate to bring this old post back up (surprised it was still there).

Please feel free to post updates/additions.

Lots of forsight in this old post.....I was right there telling everyone just as a few others were that could see the writing on the wall! Some got it, some didn't....

Good luck to the last females that bore pups I bred in 2014/2015 (14 months worth), they will represent Jack's last run as a live cover stud!!!

I'm sure several of us will see you down the road with a SEMEN pup

RIP Jack (or as Asa called him, Big Dummy) LOL!!!

Over the last several years dogs off Jack have provided me great memories. I have hauled 3 different dogs all over and very seldom have they let me down. All 3 of my dogs were sired by Jack with 3 totally different pedigrees on the bottom side and all 3 carried the same attributes.

They all flew on a coon track and had great independence and accuracy. Jack threw the 3 main things I look for in a dog and few studs can do that.

I Granded both my Ike and Jam dog in under 4 months both at one year of age. Ike wa sa freak of nature when it came to treeing coon he had one fault that kept him from really making waves and that was that he chewed and over heated badly.

I won the Grand Nites on Saturday night at 2014 English days with Ike.

Jam and I got in the Final 4 of last years Autumn Oaks as a one year old.

Friends Jack was a dominant reproducer. I am partners on a young male off Jack now that I just finished to Nite Ch and put 2 wins toward Grand on him in few hunts. He has some serious potential scoring near 800 plus several times.

I'd like to thank Asa and all the guys that brought there females to him. Without all you guys I would not be able to enjoy the dogs I have today.

I mentioned it a couple years ago to Asa. It's like this, Asa is so humble/doesn't like to brag or boast, that he felt a little like that was like patting himself and/or his dog/dogs on the back and that there are other that deserve credit for Jack and Asa's dogs success. So, he didn't feel comfortable doing it. I dang near asked to set it up for him but didn't feel like it was time after our discussion about it, then I never followed up with it. I'd say if several of us organized something, and consulted him, he'd show up and appreciate it.....but if we, as Jack fans, are waiting for him to do it I'd say it won't happen!

Last qualifier of the year and Jam and Blue cleaned house.

I took 1st place with Jam and my buddy Jake Carey took 2nd with Blue.

Jam was DEEEEEP on 3 coon to herself and Blue treed 2 of the 4 coon they scored on in his cast. I sure do love these 2 young dogs off Jack. Both are sill only 2 years old and Blue just needs 1 more win to finish to Grand.
