The pups that people claim to start early from a certain stud dog they are promoting may have gotten there brains & ability from the female side of the breeding that was made during that certain cross.I agree some dogs mature faster than others but there's a lot more behind it than just believing that a stud dog is going to throw early starting pups no matter what female he's crossed with. Only my opinion

As someone who starts pups for the public letting them run loose here at the house there are certain lines that do start running and treeing earlier than others .
You asked about Lockbox I have only had a couple here and they did start fairly early . Reezen dogs most have been early to tree as a whole are tree dogs . Many of the Bone pups have started at a early age he throws typically more trailing type dog that don't open as much as some breeds like many of the wipeout bred dogs there are some nice ones out there . I have had a few Frosted Train pups here that started early and seemed well balanced . I have started more Mafia pups than anyone for myself and others and nearly all are early starters and there are some really nice finished dogs out there .
It's more about what qualities you are looking as far as track style and tracking ability , mouth , independence or not and harder hunters ect the list goes on and on .

I've got one off Mr. Moe that was doing it consistently at 7 months old. He's done some winning in different registries. I've also got a 5 month old off a Jiggs and Moe's littermate sister that can't be bought.

I bred to Mr Moe and really like my pup. Started winning at one day over a year old. I've got a jigs pup that is running some tracks and figuring it out at 7 months old and really looking forward to what she can do. There's lots of good studs out there to chose from, but there's also a lot of studs that are blown up that shouldn't be.
