And now the rest of the story...
When Obama took office, the country was in a deep recession. There was nowhere to go but up. The DOW slowly recovered in the 8 years that he was in office.

There was a dramatic increase in the DOW from the time Trump was elected in Nov until he took office in Jan. You are adding that to Obama's numbers when you use 12/31, but it had nothing to do with him.

After Trump took over there was the most dramatic rise ever with the DOW hitting an all time high even with inflation at it's lowest ever. Then Covid hit, the world economy was closed down and there was a dramatic drop in the DOW. It has slowly recovered since.

Your numbers are giving Biden credit for the recovery from Covid and not subtracting the 7% inflation. You are also not taking into account the big drop in the last month.

Now I don't have an MBA in anything and sometimes have a problem adding and subtracting but 2024 can't get here fast enough.

Besides, if the Dems Stole it once and made it look so easy to do.....they shouldn't have a pro

Soooo, just who will be Republican nominee?
Trump is already 40 points up on Rep. side.
Dems must be worried!!
Left keeps talking crap,digging and making up more lies...BUT his numbers keep going up.{Biden sure is helping that too}

Hope Your not thinking Elf On a Shelf Pence? lol

As I said......IF they stole it once , then a 2nd time shouldn't be a problem.
I don't think it will be Pence......not sure who it will be.
Doesn't matter to me if it's Trump, Pence, Manchin, DeSantis, Etc., Etc., Etc..........it really won't make any difference.
It's out of our Control.

If your son/daughter came home and told you they got a 100 on their math test=A, would you be proud of that? But, what if your other son/daughter told you they got 100 on their math and history tests (50 on math, 50 on history=2F's) would you be equally as proud since they both got 100?

If you own a 1$ share and it goes up a 100% on the first day and a 1point every day for 100 days, not considering Biden inflation, are you depressed on the 100th day because it only went up 1%?

Posted by Richard Lambert on 02-16-2022 02:51 PM:

It doesn't have to keep going up. I only get depressed when it goes down and I am very depressed right now.

Judging from this analogy, we know who made 50 on their math test.

What do you expect from a guy that voted for Biden with his open borders and socialism. Honey believes in Biden economics.

Or the same thing other than on the 100th day it went up 2 points, 2% of the the value. Which is more profitable the 100% it went up the first day or the 2% it went the 100th day?

I'm happy with your first scenario, that's a 36,500% A.P.R. I'll gladly take that. Not only does that blow away Clintons 28+% and Trumps 13+%, it blows away the percentage increase in the stock market since its inception. Warren Buffet would jump at this kind of deal.

Scenario 1: Focusing on numbers (what you are throwing out there), would you rather receive $100/day for life,

or

Scenario 2: Focusing on percentages (what I've put out there), would you rather start with a penny (1 cent), and double your money each day (100% increase each day) for 30 days?

Scenario 1: After 30 days, you would have $3000. At $1000 per day, that's $30,000.

Scenario 2: After 30 days, you would have $8.053 million. Divide that total by 30 days and you get $268,433 per day.

Note: You can verify this very simply in Excel (using very basic math formulas).

Remember: A penny, doubled each day for 30 days is over $8 Million Dollars. Hopefully, this helps you, and others, to better understand the value of percentages and compounding.

I'll remember, thanks for the help.

I already knew the math part of that. Now all I need to know is where to put that penny to make it happen.

Don't even think about checking your IRA or 401K now. You will start crying. Because of Biden and his energy and big spending policies, everyone is going to have to work 5 more years before they can retire. Those already retired are just SOL.

follow the market breadth

follow the market bread

52 week highs versus 52 week lows. pretty much the main thing of the market

Posted by Richard Lambert on 09-14-2022 02:24 PM:

Check your 401k today. The democrats are not only bankrupting our country, they are bankrupting anyone with a 401k. They have destroyed everything that Trump built up in his 4 years in just 19 months.
