you are sure doing some great things with Red and all the hounds in your kennel. Maybe one day with all the effort from everyone working together we will see one of these red dogs with the big world trophy.

RED

Has proven he can win all over North America, he can win in thin coon, moderate populated area`s and where the coon`s are thick. After last weekend we know he can score big as well!! Even though it is tempting to go to a few of the remainding Purnia Point events, I think we are going to hang things up for the year. I will be putting RED in a few hunts next year and want to get him qualfied for the 2014 UKC world hunt. I am also going to start hunting a young male out of RED & Daisy, named Deepwoods T-Top Maxiumus in the hunts. Also looking to have RED bred a bunch more, I know he has the stuff that will help our breed!!! Need to breed another 3 females to get to a hundred pups!!!

Thanks for reading John

2 calls today

from people who want to breed to RED!!

Posted by timber hunter on 09-16-2013 09:56 PM:

Got asked

a week ago if I would take 10k for RED. I told the guy, I am not in it for the money and its hard to replace a dog you love! I also told him I want to continue to breed top females to RED to help our breed!!!!

Here`s my new competition dog

Took him tonight by himself and he treed twice did an awesome job on the second coon. Looked like an old dog doing it, in 500 and treed hard.

Max is as loud as RED and tree`s every bit as hard!!!

I like the looks of Max the very first time you posted his picture. He should make a nice one he has the breeding to back it.

Yep Buck

He is for real, he probably could go in a hunt now, but I want to shoot 30 or 40 coons down to him first.

Posted by timber hunter on 09-18-2013 08:48 PM:

I was just

thinking, I have been hunting Redbone coondogs since I have been in my teens, always have had a really good one at my house since then. Now if I hunted on average in 10 casts a year, that's 300 cast minimum. Over the years I have done my fair share of winning with these hounds. I have always felt that I have had one capable of winning Redbone Days or any big hunt. In 1995 at National Days I won my cast all 3 nights with a dog call GRNITECH WOODS RED CHOPPER, never won the whole thing though. Several times had a high scoring dog of the night at either American or National days. Truth is in order to win a big hunt anywhere you have to have more than just a good dog. You have to have a good guide, an honest judge, some luck and be a descent handler. I must say that it sure is good to have finally had all those things come together at the same time at Owen Sounds on September 6th. Scoring 1287 1/2 plus with RED is the highest to date I have scored in a cast. In the late 90's I put a first place win on my Giz dog with 1075. I have enjoyed being involved in the sport. I guess my thought is that there are a lot of good hounds that maybe never get recognition for how good they are. So if you have a good Reddog or coondog of any breed keep at it, who knows when that big win could come!!! Been golfing longer than coonhunting still yet to get a hole in one, who knows it may be coming!!! Thanks for reading, John

Nice post. Love how you put it together congrats to you and Red for you good hunting, handleing and Luck haha. That sounds like the truth in everything. Be as good as you can be keep at it and when you stay close to the goal it will eventually bounce your way. Good job and keep it up. All I have followed on You and red on here hope one day I get chance to try a pup outta him if I didnt have my first kid on the way I would try to get one now but I want all my focus on this little one I got coming. Best of luck to you and god bless.

Rig Dog

Took RED last night and put him up on my new rigging box. Worked well first drop, second drop just led him in to the woods, he threw his head in the air and went the opposite direction and had a coon treed in 5 minutes. I want you to know that this hound is the best I have ever owned. I really believe that his pups need to be in the hands of competition hunters and coon hunters like crazy. I wished everyone could pleasure hunt with him so they could see just what kind of dog he is!!! If you have a nice female or are looking for a pup, you need to consider RED!!! Thanks John

Hey Buck

Yep, going to put him in the hunts, I feel that he is a good enough young dog with good breeding that could be bred now. I think that he should grand out, but thought I would offer him as stud while he is good and young, Thanks John
