An Australian drug known as Ivermectin, which is already in use throughout the world to treat parasitic conditions, is showing great results in killing coronavirus in studies involving patients, according to Sky News.

"Because I'm involved in developing these in the U.S. where all the patients are, there are a number of studies that are amazingly successful. We're talking close to 100%. In fact, we haven't seen a result yet under 100%. It looks like corona is very simple to kill," Professor Thomas Borody, medical director of Australia's Center for Digestive Disease. "It's available as a prescription medication. You wouldn't use it alone ... but you add two other things to it such as doxycycline and zinc."


Ivermectin is already approved by the FDA and is on the World Health Organization's list of model list of essential medicines.

"We had a 14-hospital trial in Bangladesh. We got [cured] 100 out of 100. In China, they tried to reproduce it. They got 60 out of 60 cured ... So I am behind the Ivermectin, doxycycline, zinc treatment because it has very few side effects and is a real killer of coronavirus," Borody said.

Borody said the Ivermectin tablet could cost as little as $2, which is likely why drugmakers haven't promoted the drug's usage. He also suggested that have a cure for the disease easily would do away with the need for people to be hospitalized, which would make doctors less money.

"There's no huge pharmaceutical company behind it to spend millions of dollars and put people in places to treat," Borody said.

The drug, ivermectin, has been used widely used for decades. It was introduced as a veterinary drug in the 1970s. Doctors also prescribe it to treat head lice, scabies, and other infections caused by parasites. According to a report published online in the journal Antiviral Research, the drug quickly prevented replication of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The study has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication, although it is not yet a "definitive" version of record.

Researchers infected cells with SARS-CoV-2, then exposed them to ivermectin. "We showed that a single dose of ivermectin could kill COVID-19 in a petri dish within 48 hours, indicating potent antiviral activity," says study co-author David Jans, PhD, a professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at Monash University in Melbourne.

Even at 24 hours, "there was a really significant reduction" in the virus, study leader Kylie Wagstaff, PhD, a senior research fellow in biochemistry and molecular biology at Monash University, said in a statement.

But experts say more testing is needed to know if it works well in people and if it’s safe to use.

'No One Should Try to Self-Medicate'
"The main way we think ivermectin works is to target a key molecule of our cells that we think helps the virus to proliferate," Jans says. "By stopping this, the virus replicates more slowly, and so our immune system has a better chance to mount the antiviral response and kill the virus." Giving this or any antiviral drug early is thought to give the body the best chance of beating infection, he says.

In other studies, the researchers say, the drug has been shown to work against dengue fever and to limit infections similar to COVID-19, such as the West Nile virus.

The drug is "safe at relatively high doses, widely available, and relatively cheap, too," Jans says. The next step is more research to find the best dose for fighting COVID-19. Then researchers can begin testing in people, he says. "It is important to stress that no one should try to self-medicate with versions of ivermectin that are for veterinary purposes or head lice." The only safe way to get ivermectin is by prescription from a doctor, he says.

U.S. Experts Weigh In
The new study "certainly piqued our interest,” says Jill Weatherhead, MD, an assistant professor of adult and pediatric infectious diseases at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Her clinic uses the medicine to treat intestinal parasites found in international travelers or immigrants.

Any lead we have should be investigated.

Saw where 77 NFL players tested positive and after a retest all were negative. All testing done for the positive results at the same research facility. Now was that research facility that inaccurate or bought off?

There are many including myself who think this virus was cooked up in a lab and have concerns over what the end game plan was/is. A fact we know is that China has a very high population and they do not value human life as we do. We also know that some of our elitist and others believe that the population every where needs reduced. Eugenics is nothing new and the global climate change has been preached under many different terms for decades. Population control is on many different levels but all roads lead to it in one way or another. One by actually controlling the populace through regulations, laws ect and the other by reducing the overall birthrate via birth control, abortion, "education", destruction of nuclear family, economics, vaccine experiments and ect.

Oh my goodness, the # of serious/critical cases in the USA has dropped below 16,000 for the first time. More people are getting well than are getting sick. I wonder what it will be by the end of October? Do y'all remember when the main stream media's favorite expert, Dr Fauci said that the daily # of new cases would be 150,000? President Trump seems to be doing a great job of controlling Carona while still improving the economy.

The number of serious/critical cases in the whole USA dropped below 15,000 today. The number of people recovering continues to be higher than the number getting sick.

I believe you had one too many acid trips in the 60's......

I finally found the numbers for Canada.
Total critical/serious cases now... 54 in the whole country...
Active cases now...one for every 3,780 people

Overall numbers...
3,749 cases per million
242 deaths per million people

It looks like y'all did a much better job at containing the virus. Would you say that y'all had the virus under control now? I would think that you would be proud of that.

I saw on Fox News today that scientists had found that Pine Sol was effective against Covid 19 virus so I tried some. Man that stuff tastes awful but it does make your breath smell good.
