Angel Pups
Tom I am sure liking my Yank and Angel pup. You guys had better jump on these pups. Ace ( Show-Time ) treed split from Cherry about 22 yards between trees and looked real good last night on his 5 th time in the woods. This is the place to get you a winner. Dave
Friday night
Dave and I took Yank and Moose out tonight for a couple of drops and we had a pretty good hunt.
Moose
Yank
These two young hounds do a real nice job of getting struck and treed. Moose was hunted alone on the first dump and he had to cover some ground to find a track...he struck good and worked it out of an old corn field and then a creek bottom. We could hear that he made a miss for awhile in the creek but the next time we heard him, he was through the fence and putting some distance between barks and moving fast up the hillside. He located nicely and rolled it over and had a big den tree still steaming from the coon climbing in. He did a nice job and sure sounded good.
The next drop we turned Yank alone and he struck quick and ran the track down around a wet flat and then up to and around a pond. He drifted out in a circle and then cut back in around the pond and was soon up the hillside and locating nicely. He made a couple of real nice locates and then rolled it over and sounded real good...he had the coon on the outside.
I really enjoy these young hounds, both with how they get the job done in the woods and also their personalities. They're eager to please and do what we ask them to do from beginning to end.
Moose will have his first litter on the ground in another week to ten days and Yank will have two litters on the ground, both second time crosses, one in another several hours and then again at the end of the month.
Don't overlook these two nice young hounds...they've got plenty of coon sense and the history behind them to reproduce it again and again.

Training day...
We did a little training with some new recruits...I loved the results.
Say hello to Maggie...
This is Crook...
This is Crazy Cuz...
The Gang...
There is nothing in the world that I like better than to see a for real "good prospect" and to have the opportunity to shape his or her future.
Cuz is out of Yank and a grand daughter to Rat and Pete...he is a for real good prospect and not yet 5 months old.
Maggie is out of Pastor Mike's Dual Grand Haze and is looking like she also is a for real prospect and if so and she continues like she has started, she's the kind of female that represents a real nice line cross back but also brings some top blood on her bottom side, going back to Razor. I like her...she's got a real submissive personality in the kennel and turns into something totally different when around a coon...I really like her so far.
Crook is about ready to go...I'll give him to anyone looking for a project and who will hunt him and give him a fair chance. I don't know what he'll turn into for sure but he's willing to get after it and has some intensity so should be given a chance. He won't win any beauty contests but if someone is willing to come and get him, I'm willing to turn him over as a started pup. He is out of Yank and Val...Val's side brings Yellow River Doc and Yellow River Music behind Outlaw Jesse Jr so the cross is loaded.
This is how it always starts just like it did for all the rest...there's a common factor time after time so don't overlook it...take advantage of it when you can.

Those are some great looking prospects there Tom!
Those are also some awsome looking crosses in the soon to be litters coming up. I'm trying to talk the wife into oooone more redbone pup. Between choosing which litter to get one out of and trying to convince her of this.....I'm not sure which one's tougher!lol
Here's T-Top Red Silk getting in on the action now that the weather has turned a little better. I'll be putting her in her 1st hunt on April 2. That's our club's 1st ever redbone sectional (we've had an upswing in reddogs in the area, including mine).
Silk's looking good. Hopefully good enough to overcome my lack of experience in comp. hunting. I'll keep you updated.
Chris

She's a nice looking female Buck...she's the only one from that litter so she'll have to be a good one to keep up with da boys...
Looks like she's got it together, that's good to see. I wish we could have made that cross again but I'd bet Haze and Sally will be something to look forward to also.

"Blast" for sure! We will have to go up to Mark's to put them in coon. She went 1 mile last night per the Garmin to find one on the first drop and then treed a layup 50 yds from the truck on the 2nd drop. I just love hunting these old lazy grey faced dogs.
I just had a "vision"! We need to get them all ready for National Days in Holmesville on the 4th of July. We could hunt Sally, Willow, Moose and Son in the hunt on Thursday night. It could be a replay of 2006 when Sally was high scoring dog on Thurs night. Freddy, her half brother, was 8th place on Thurs night and overall champion that year. Blossum/Smiley her littermate sister was 9th place on Thurs night. I could also get someone to hunt Lt Dan. He is out of Tara, Sally's half sister. Tara was Overall Opposite Sex Champ at Holmesville one year. I could also get someone to hunt Ruger who is out of Freddy. We could start a "Holmesville tradition".
Friday night...
Dave Geiger came to hunt with his Clyde pup out of Yank and Val and we had a pretty good hunt. Sometimes pictures come kind of hard but last night it worked out pretty well so...
Clyde and Moose on the first drop
Clyde
Moose...
This is the coon that Moose and Clyde had...he was low enough to get a picture of...
Second drop...Yank and Clyde (Yank is the sire to Clyde...not that often that folks can get a good "Father and Son" photo like these.)
Clyde...
Clyde & Yank..
Clyde is a nice young hound and good looking to boot. Moose is a little out of shape but he gives it what he's got so it was a nice night to get pictures.
Looking forward to a good spring and summer with these young Red dogs.

Young dogs
There will at at least two that show up...Yank and Moose. We would have hunted Leinie also but she'll still be trying to wean pups at that time and won't have the woods time to give her a fair chance.
There are some others around, we'll see if they make the trip.

A Couple of Rabble Females
Hey Tom,
Haven't been on the board for awhile so I thought I'd upload a few pics from a hunt we had down here tonight with a couple of females out of Old Rabble.
Here is Gr.Nt. South Skunk Sid and PR T-Top Flirt knocking the top out.
Same dogs, only one (Flirt) in "Mid-Jack" mode.
It's good to see all these T-Toppers doing well. I'll get some posted on Clyde (Yank and Val) when I get him going. The way he is going, it won't take a whole lot.
Take Care
Great Pictures
Tom the dogs look great. Bet they even sounded better. Dave
Good to see
You are still Kickin' there Chris. Haven't seen you on here in a long time. When is aaron going to breed Sid and who will be the stud?

Saturday night
We took Yank and Clyde for one more drop last night and we had a good hunt.
This is Yank
Clyde
Coon
Sometimes it's easy to get a picture of the coon...some time it's not. I tried a new, stronger lense last night and it worked pretty good even though the auto focus tried to grap small branches in front of the camera a couple of times. I finally got it to focus and was pleased to see that I could actually see the coon because it was easily 60-70 feet up in the tree and hard to see.
Clyde is a real nice young male owned by Dave Geiger. He is out of Yank and Val and is a good looking son of a gun as well as doing a really nice job of getting with the program at night in the woods.
We made only one drop last night...that was enough. The dogs covered a lot of ground up a long valley and never made a bark. They swung back past us and headed up the other direction along a good spring and pretty soon Yank struck up the hillside. It was only a couple of minutes and they were out of hearing and moving away fast. The Garmin beeped treed and we couldn't even hear the dogs, they were about 870 yards away so we started walking up towards the top of the hill. When we hit the top, we could hear them treed way down towards another valley and creek bottom so we headed in and found them treed up another hillside with the coon. It was a tough walk and they went a long ways with that coon. We ended up walking the road back and it was 1.7 miles round trip by the Garmin so that was enough for the night. It's amazing how much ground they can cover while hunting and how quickly they can drive a track a long distance.
We also did some training yesterday afternoon with Crook, Cuz and Ruger. Ruger is a brother to Crook and he did a great job overall. He has been out of circulation for awhile but I was very impressed by how he got with the program based off so little formal exposure...I'm thinking he also has a chance to make a dog. We should have taken some pictures because it was a hoot seeing Cuz up around the tree with those two big males...he was giving it all he had and looked good doing it just like his older half brothers...he's going to be an interesting pup to watch develop I think.
I enjoyed Dave's visit for the last few days and look forward to seeing his nice young hounds again at some point. Both Clyde and Ruger are very good looking hounds with good mouths and a real interest in the coon and in training. Clyde is ahead and will track and tree at night but it won't be long and Ruger and Crook will be doing the same.
Val has 5 pups on the ground that are 9 days old today. 3 females and 2 males. Price is $200 picked up here.

visit
Tom-
Thanks again for everything. I had a great time this weekend, even on that long track last night....lol. Yank and Moose are both fine hounds and are get-r-done type dogs....Its just awesome. I will be putting in a lot of time in the woods with Clyde. Along with training with Ruger, it will be busy to say the least. I will visit again soon, I just haven't decided yet if its for the hunting or the breakfast....lol. Thanks again.
Can't wait for a pup out of Leinie and Moose. I can't believe she hasn't had 'em yet.

Here is a shot of Rico or, "Clifford" as Aaron calls him.
He is a big boy and looks a lot like ol Lexus in my mind. Especially in the face. I've never seen Rowdy before though so I don't know.
From what I've heard he is 100% independant, hard headed, goes hunting good and has a huge mouth. It's funny hearing about AWade training on this monster. He's used to those little docile females.
Hope you guys are doing well down there.
Rico
Now that's a picture! You're right Chris, it has been kind of interesting to hear Aaron talking about his hunting expeditions with "Clifford". He has the tools but he for sure is a hard headed hound dog. He does remind me also of Lexus in his body style with those long legs and sporty body but I also have never seen Rowdy so he might just be taking after his daddy too.
It's good to see Aaron working a dog on the bench just before loading him up in his JD Gator in the background there...and heading for the timber I'd pay to see him hauling ol' Clifford to the woods and him in the driver's seat with his head light a blazin' now if that doesn't bring a smile to your face...nothing will...eh?
