'PR' PLAIN ENGLISH'S LAKELAND OL' BLU

Blu is a 8 month old pup out of Roofus. He started at a very early age of 4 months old. He has ran and treed every trip out. I have seen him work a track ahead of NTCH Hard Wood Pepper but he is is still slow about opening. He has treed ahead of her. He is pretty quick on the track. As he matures I believe he become quicker to strike. He is to young to judge but he continues to progress the he has he should make a dandy.
So here is a video that I finally got to upload. This chase went deep enough the only hound we could hear was Blu treeing. They were treed for well over an hour before we got to them. This video had to be cut down but it's about 7 minutes long. Listen to the huge mouth of Blu. They were a good 200 yards deep when they struck.. Enjoy, JR

this is awesome jamey and his family loved that dog we all spent alot of time with him. cant wait till they get a pup out of him. i was with maddy in farber mo. when she won best of show with him and beat alot of really nice dogs. good luck with him hope you get alot of nice pups on the ground

Terrible annoucement I recieved a phone call this morning that Gypsy had 3 blue puppies which appeared that maybe they had been born during the night they were clean and dry. So I went by there this evening and they were none... We are assuming she ate them they were to be found no where. They were crying is what brought the attention to check and were push back in the box with her outside when observed this morning. I will probably never attempt to make this cross again. I have heard of this but have never had it to happen to me. I have been successfully breeding since 1989. This is a shame. I had high hopes for this cross...

At camp getting ready to hit the woods with BLU, ROOFUS, and PEPPER. They are calling for a bad snow storm to hit this weekend up to 12" maybe more in the high mountians. At camp we are in the high moutains tonight should be a heck of a night... So stay tuned for pics. and possilbe videos. JR

Some pics from last nights hunt

We didn't get out til' late the frost had already fallen and snow was still on ground. The first drop was about 11:00 am and the first drop was the only drop that we managed to tree on. It was good to have Roofus back out. Roofus had 1st strike and 1st tree Blu had 2nd strike and 3rd tree Pepper had 3rd strike and 2nd tree...We made it back at camp around 3:30am planning on gonna again tonight if the snow storm holds off.

Tonights hunt

We made 10 drops we started at 7:30pm and got back to camp 3:33am. Not all three were dropped together on each drop nor were the same dropped together each time it was a mix up night for us and the amigos. Kinda of an exiting night Blu seems to progress more each time out we hunted some rough county we treed on two high walls. We had 2 different pack of coyotes working us.. Blu and Pepper caught a coon in a old culvert. We managed to make 5 successful trees 3 holes and one in the culvert. The last drop nothing... Learning new hunting ground makes it rougher sometimes but hey in order learn it you must earn it... Very pleased with tonight's hunt. Below are some pictures....

Thanks CJ... I am excited about this cross it should make a great one.. I really like her breeding. Should produce huge bawl mouthed ones. Keep a close eye on her and left me know just as soon as she shows sign of coming in heat... I like to breed them 3 times by skipping a day in between. Usually on the 11th,13th and the 15th day of her heat cycle. Keep in touch, JR

Kennel expansion plans.

We maybe relocating this year depending when our house sells. We are already building a new kennel at our new planned location this move will enable us to house more female hounds. With that said we will be buying some female pups over the coarse of the year that we are hoping to be able use in our breeding program. We are commited to at least a couple for now. We also have a couple older female pups under 2 years old that we are trying to get as well. As this happens I will be posting their informaion as I get it. We do intend on keeping a pup from every cross made on Roofus.
We are hoping to bring back some traits to the breed that in my opinion have disapeared in the last few years. Todays lines are competive but in my opinion they have lost their accuracy, nose, mouth, comformation etc. Our goal is to keep the English Coonhound a hound. We have done alot of homework on pedigrees trying to choose what we think we help the bred the best. However some of them may not be loaded with big titles but they will be loaded with bloodlines that helped several years ago. I sure hope to get an A+ on my homework.
Roofus is very competitive acurate, loud, cold nosed and we want to use him to help keep those traits alive. I want to thank everyone that takes interest in Roofus. God Bless, JR

Junior, when I get time, I will send you a video of Woody on a DVD, he was an impressive dog. Woody certainly had the traits you described. He was very similar to Roofus in all ways.

I also have video of Pine Knob Crystal.

Here is the first pup we have purchased

'PR' PLAIN ENGLISH WILLOWCREEK LILY

Plain English Kennel proudly introduces our latest addition. We would like to send a special thanks out there for some guys for making this possible... First and foremost I want to thank Mr. John Anderson of Nebraska for giving me the opportunity to own a fine pup out of his strain of hounds of many years of breeding... I promise to do my part in making her the best that I possibly can... The second guy I would like to thank is Mr. Key Anderson also of Nebraska for doing a fine job of hand raising this whole litter of fourteen pups and being successful... Job well done and a tough one at that... The third guy is Mr. Billy Wilkes of Alabama for setting up the return of her to NC.. With out his efforts I am not sure I would have been able to get her here... And last but not least the man that made it worth my while Mr. Clyde Miller of NC he brought her back to his kennel for me all the way from Nebraska... And he patiently waiting on me for a week while I was Deer Hunting... All four of these guys are true houndsmen and have earned my respect for life... I can't say Thank You enough... Below I have included a picture of her and her 4 generation and the remainder of her 7 generation pedigree... We mailed her papers out the very next after receiving from John and finally got them Yesterday.
They were mailed out 12/31/11 received on 02/17/12. I am very pleased with the pedigree she is loaded with the old stuff that was used as many foundation's. Thanks for your efforts of keeping these older lines as close as possible job well done. And thanks for allowing me to own part of it. Here is a copy of her 4 generation pedigree, With in her 7 generation Cujo 2 times, Turkey Ridge Racket 8 times, Vanzants Sam 2 times, and Oneys Drum 4 times. I am big on these lines probably my all time favorite which over the years I have strayed away and now trying get back. We have plans of using her in our breeding program for years to come. Lily should cross very well on our Roofus hound. Thanks again to the Anderson Family... JR

Very impressive pedigree I hope she works out for you and your breeding program. It sure seems you have done your homework thats for sure. What major city is close to Oakhill? I will be coming through WV soon I may stop by if its along the way. Maybe we can go for a hunt.
