Toby is fine. We are hunting him by himself at this time for a few weeks. He is doing a nice job. When coon aren't moving he gets deep to find them. He is going north after Bluetick days then back south after autumn oaks.

It was neat

to open up the new bloodlines and see 911 in there twice. We are hoping this litter we have is really going to be something special. Time will tell but I know Hutch and us are excited for the future.

Tonto has become sick and has pancreatitis. I am giving him IV meds daily to try to get him better. He has about a 50/50 chance. I'll know more early this week. He is really sick right now. I'm glad we got this 911 litter.

This morning I feel he has a 10% or less chance of surviving. He is worse. The vet will be here in the morning for an evaluation and we will have to decide what to do. This is always the bad side of what we do but I keep thinking of the fun times we had. It is tough owning older hounds sometimes but he means allot to us. I will share his story when he passes. Whenever the time comes. His story involves much more than coon hunting. Lance

Update

Tonto passed away today. We are relieved that he is not suffering. It appears cancer spread to his pancreas and just got him to a point he could not recover. We have been treating him for a couple of weeks and got him feeling better for a short period. We really loved this special hound.

Lance and I were talking and if it was not for GRNITE GRCH 'PR' FROG CREEK TONTO we would have never gotten to know Hutch, the Brooks, Tim, Paul, Roy, the Quinn's and the rest of the Mad Dog family. Hutch thank you so much for selling Tonto and for taking the phone call from a guy from Alabama. You have been like a big brother to Lance and I. Thanks for the kind comments. We have some awesome friends in the Bluetick world. Dogs come and go but friends last a lifetime as do good memories.
