Loving Chastisement of the Father

Friday is here! oooooooooooowwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeee,Can you believe this year is almost half over. I sure wish it would slow down. As a child, did you ever get a spanking you didn’t deserve? Maybe now and then your dad or mom would just be in a “spanking mood,” and they’d spank everyone they could get their hands on? {LOL }

Talk about being indignant! There is nothing worse to a child than to realize “I got spanked, and I didn’t deserve it.”

You know what’s funny? At that point, we never stop to think about all the times we deserved a spanking and didn’t get one. Our Father is mercifully loving and graciously wise to give us what we need at all times in our lives. Sometimes we need His hand of love in comfort, and sometimes we need His hand of love in discipline.

Thank God that His hand of mercy extends to you when you don’t deserve it and that His hand of discipline extends to you when you do.GOD knows everything about us,We cant hide anything from him.He knows the good and the bad...But ya know what ? GOD will forgive you for anything ,I said ANYTHING ! Do you want peace,happyness, a smile on your face ? Do you want a better LIFE ? Uncrossable Rivers of Life

Luke 18:27

We often find ourselves bogging down in our spiritual growth simply because the challenges before us look absolutely impossible. Such frustrations are not new. Jeremiah tells us: "Ah Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You"
(Jer. 32:17).

Do you realize that whatever thing or things you're calling "impossibilities" could be superimposed over what God says is "nothing" to Him? Nothing!

Close your eyes for a moment. I want you to think about that which seems most impossible. Nothing is impossible with God. That includes your uncrossable river, your mountain, any impossibility. Is it your business? Or your school? Or your marriage? How about keeping the house clean, keeping up with the wash, having a ministry with others, or healing strained relationships with people? Will you ask the Lord to handle that specific impossibility, and then leave it with Him in a faith that simply will not doubt?

Do that right now . . . please!

Grateful--For We Are Blessed

Hello! It feels like fall here in the riverbottoms this mornin.I had to put a coat on to do the chores its 45degrees . Im not about to complain because I know those very warm days are coming. Lets geter on to to days message... Grateful—for We Are Blessed!

Sometimes we complain when we shouldn’t. We all complain about things at sometime or another., if the weather is cold we complain,If its hot we complain. I my self find that I complain about the price of gas, Then theres people that dont have a car to buy gas for.Why should I be complaining? Then after a good meal and Im full as a tick from eatin to much sitin in my recliner sayin man I ate to much,and theres people out there in this world that are hungry, little kids that would give anything to have somethin good to eat..and Riverbottom Ron complains.

I thought, “Oh, what an ungrateful spirit I have!” why should I complain about anything with all the good blessings that the LORD bless's me with each and every day.

Do you ever complain about dirty dishes? There are lots of folks that would like to have some dirty dishes. We are to be thankful in all things.

Rejoice in God’s blessings in your life. Nip that temptation in the bud to complain and grumble about your life today. 3 Habits of Happy People

Hey Everybody Its another cool mornin here in The Riverbottoms. Thats ok with me because thats one less hot day that we could be having beings its summer time. As you read todays message may it give you a little wisdom and help you with some things that you have been havin trouble with.So read and may it help you personnaly..Lets get on to it,,,,, 3 Habits of Happy People

I stumbled across a list someone had pulled together and put online, entitled “22 Habits of Happy People.” Inspired, I decided to write a few down. Then I got to thinking about Scriptural wisdom to back up the catchy phrases. Here’s what I found for the first few.

1. Let go of grudges

This piece of wisdom is undoubtedly biblical. In fact, the ideas of forgiveness and leaving vengeance up to God can be found in many places throughout the Old and New testaments. Levitical Law states,

“You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord” (Lev. 19:18).

Jesus also speaks of the necessity of forgiving each other and letting go of grudges – especially if we desire for God to dismiss our own sins.

“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses” (Matt. 11:35).

2. Treat everyone with kindness

This is a beautiful, simple phrase that cuts to the heart of the golden rule. Jesus cautions,

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you” (Matt. 7:12).

God, through commands to his early followers and through his revelation in Christ, clearly values acts and attitudes of kindness and compassion. Believers are consistently exhorted to give, respect, honor, and show humility toward those around us. Perhaps the best model for kindness would, of course, be God himself. Instead of allowing humanity to perish in sin, God pursued us throughout centuries, sent his Son to walk among us, and offers salvation and reconciliation to all freely.

3. Regard Your Problems as Challenges

According to Paul,

“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it” (1 Cor. 10:13).

Truthfully, life is full of problems.We all know that. And not all problems can be solved. But I like the idea of regarding problems as challenges, because it’s a wonderful reminder that we have been given the power to do something. God didn’t make us fearful or incapable. He gave us a spirit of power and of sound mind (1 Tim. 1:7). If we looked at our problems more like challenges, perhaps we would be more hopeful about the future.

Intersecting Faith and Life: Have you been holding grudges? Have you been less than kind to others? Have you let yourself become overwhelmed by your daily problems? Remembering is important. In fact, God instructs His people on many occasions in the Old Testament to remember from whence they came and to remember His providence.

It is by the mighty hand of God that we are saved, we are protected, and we are free to live in the Land of the Brave. Never take that freedom for granted, my friend. It is a precious commodity for which the world hungers. And it is a powerful charge for you and me to protect.

Do you know of someone in your life who has served in the armed forces of this country? Make a point this week to express to them your gratitude for their service. Secure In The Arms Of JESUS

Good Mornin ! I am so Blessed ! Our Lord God has given me 63 years on this earth,It took me till I was 51 years old to realize that God was after me just like he was Jonah . I didnt get swallowed by a whale after being thrown overboard from a ship,,But Ole Riverbottom Ron ran from GOD did all kinds of things.Everywhere I went God was on my trail he knew my every move. The life I was livin wasnt a good one. My sweet wife Karen stayed with me I knew she was prayin for me ,Because she loved me with the Love of the LORD. I know because she told me that. Then one day I fell off the roof of the summer cabin that we owned up on the river some 30 some feet to the ground.I had broken bones every where,The ER doctor couldnt believe that I didnt die. I was off work for almost 2 years. One night right after I fell I was hurtn so bad as I been sleepin in my recliner.I reached over picked up a BIBLE that my wife Karen made sure was sitin beside me, I started readin it,I couldnt put it down. the first page that I opened it to was the 103 Psalms which is now my favorite verse in the BIBLE open your BIBLE to it and read it, I read it over and over and over..That night I asked JESUS CHRIST to come into my life and Ole Riverbottom Ron hasnt never been the same..GOD will do the same for you,Stop runnin from him ....All that I want in life now is that my LORD keeps usein me to spread his WORD and his LOVE,,because he gives me everything that I need as he Blesses me each day. TO DAY IS MY BIRTHDAY May 29th 1952 but my real birthday was that night in that recliner when I asked GOD to come into my life. WOW was I ever windy today. A Christian is not somebody who merely believes that Christ died for his sins. The devil believes that. A Christian is somebody who has repented of his sins and invited Christ into his heart to be his Savior and Lord.

You can intellectually believe that an airplane can fly, but in order to fly you must try out its wings. In the same way, when you give your heart to Jesus Christ, He takes control of your life and begins to make you into the person He wants you to be.

Your life doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect for you to go to heaven. At the moment you trust Christ as your personal Savior, you are eternally saved, eternally secure, and God begins to work on you.

Why Doesnt God Obliterate Evil ?

“Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine.” - 1 Chronicles 29:11

Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t obliterate the devil and eradicate all sin? If God destroyed evil, God would destroy every opportunity for choice. And if God were to destroy every opportunity for choice, then God would destroy every opportunity for love. Therefore, God would destroy the highest good. For God to destroy evil would be evil.

God doesn’t destroy evil, instead God defeats evil. How? Calvary and the resurrection! God turns every hurt into a hallelujah. Every defeat into victory!

The Lesson of Prayer

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” - Matthew 6:10
A few years ago a friend that I knew had his own small plane.He asked if I would want to take a ride with him a couple hundred miles away I didnt have anything to do so I took him up on it. We were way up in the air and he asked if I would like to fly the plane. I thought o well Il give it a try

Of course, he was sitting right next to me. He could fly the plane without me, but I couldn’t fly it without him. He had his hands on his controls all the while, and he allowed me too.It was really cool but I sure didnt think Id ever try to land that thing.. I was glad when he took back over

That’s the way prayer is. God can do it without you, but God enables you to have fellowship with Him and teaches you a dependency upon Him through prayer.

Kneel before Him today. Meditate on 1 Chronicles 16:23-36. Glory in His presence:

23Sing to the LORD, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. 24 Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. 25 For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods. 26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens. RON,MY BROTHER-IN-LAW HAD A BAD WRECK ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO AND PARALIZED FROM HIS WASTE DOWN HE IS IN A WHEEL CHAIR AND HIS WIFE TAKES CARE OF HIM I JUST FOUND OUT HE HAS HAD 2 DREAMS OF HIM WALKING AGAIN PLEASE PRAY THAT HIS DREAMS COMES TRUE.THANKS YOUR FRIEND STEVE PICKETT. Are You A religious Person ?

Good Mornin ! From The Riverbottom I would like to start this post today asking everyone to ask our LORD in prayer to touch Bro Steve Picketts brother-in-law If you read the post before this one you read that his brotherinlaw had a dream that he could walk again. We all know GOD can do anything.and we know prayer in numbers many people praying for that one thing is more powerful so lets all of us ask that Awsome GOD that we serve to answer that dream by our prayers.So this man can run a marathon..It was nice to see ya on here Mr Steve Pickett,,Everytime I walk between the two buildings at Autum Oaks I remember me and you lookin for each other the very first time that I met ya and we were almost standin side by side.{lol}...Lets get on to to days message " And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

Are you a religious person?

I don’t know about you, but I hear that question fairly often and I cringe just about every time I do. I know what most people are really asking: “Is faith important to you?” But the word religion is such a loaded word because every person has a different experience.

For some, religion is mindless obedience. For others, it’s sleeping through Sunday morning service. And yet for others, it’s a different expression of worship altogether, whether it be in a Hindu temple, a mosque, or a synagogue.

But the real difference between Christianity and religion is clear. Religion is spelled with two letters: d-o. Do this, and you’ll be a better person, receive blessings, or earn heaven. It’s focused on human achievement.

Christianity, however, is spelled with four letters: d-o-n-e. It’s centered around the finished work of Christ on the cross. It’s not about what we can do, but what Christ has already done for us. Praise God today that you’re not enslaved to mindless religious obedience, but are free to pursue a life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ! Believing In The Living GOD.

Hello From The Riverbottom ! Now summer is getin here,95 degrees here this past weekend and its suppose to be in the 90's most of this week winter is right around the corner but Im not sure how many lefts and rights we have to take till we get there. For now lets enjoy todays message Believing In the Living God

“If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which He hath testified of His Son.” - 1 John 5:9

I’ve been asked, Brother Ron do you expect me to believe in Jesus Christ just because your book says that He lived? That’s not enough for me.”

I agree. You need something else. If you want to know who Jesus Christ is, ask the Holy Spirit.

God says, “If you want to believe, I will help you to understand and to know that these things are true.”

Don’t tell me that you cannot believe. You may refuse to believe, but I will tell you this. If you want to believe in Jesus Christ and if you seek Truth, God the Holy Spirit will speak to you and confirm to you that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Read Deuteronomy 4:29—“But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find Him, if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”

Do you want to know the living God? He is there if you seek Him with all your heart. After many years of running from GOD before I became a Christian ,Everytime I talked to someone that was a Christian I would think man those people are weired,Theres no way a person could Believe In, Or Talk and Pray to someone that they have never seen,and Only read and told about. Well,, After finally accepting JESUS CHRIST as my Savior and realizing I needed HIM in my life to lead and show me that he is REAL,and after Praying,Trusting,Believing,Reading my BIBLE and having Faith in someone Id never seen,or heard ,,,I Riverbottom Ron know that my LORD is real.Though I have never heared GOD in a voice say ,RON DO THIS OR THAT,, But I have heard him talk to me through other people as they would say things that only I knew because I was praying about it.Or I would read things in a book and just what I needed help with would jump right out in front of me with my answer.ya know GOD does these kind of things when he knows that we love him..I love my LORD with all my heart and hope someday you will to... Nehemiah was a man who knew how to get alone with God. He fasted, prayed, and wept; then God told him what to do.

Have you done that? Have you sacrificed and surrendered to the Lord to discover His will for your life? Or are you just putting yourself into neutral and letting life happen to you? Do you have a focus?

God has something that He wants you to do. You are special to God. Nehemiah said, “God had laid something on my heart.” If you’ll listen, God will lay something on your heart. are ya listening ? Working Together In Unity

Hey !! Its fixin to rain here in the riverbottoms this mornin. We really dont need the rain the rivers are startin to flood a little, I guess we will take whatever the Lord Has instore. Ive got little green tomatoes on my plants so its not to far away that Il be chewin on a big ole bacon lettus and tomatoe sandwich with lots of hellmans mayo on it . “For we are laborers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” - 1 Corinthians 3:9

How powerful it is when we work together in unity! Do you know why Canadian geese always fly in a “V” formation. Have you ever wondered why? Because the lead goose is moving the wind resistance for the rest of them. So while he is flapping real hard, the rest of them are cruising. After awhile, the lead goose gets tired and he falls back and the next goose moves up.

Do you know what scientists have discovered in the wind tunnel experiments? That geese flying in a “V” formation can fly 72% farther than one goose could fly by himself. Now who taught them to do that? God did.Just one of the many wonders in this world that shows there was a very smart creator .
What are you trying to do by yourself that could be more efficiently accomplished when the task is shared? Good Wet Mornin! Its been rainin cats and dogs here in the bottom for the last 3 days ,With having all the crops in and corn about chest high its going to flood about 200 acres the rivers a razin pretty fast. one thing that I know The good LORD above will take care of things no matter what. Train Up A Child

Its sill rainin here,The river is razin pretty fast.Looks like we will be helpin the neighbors sand bag here real soon. I use to worry about the river when it starts doin this but I havent for a few years now.I always give it to the LORD and he takes care of it.I just help the neighbors out.Lets get to todays message...rain Up A Child

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

A little boy was riding around and around the block. A man asked him, “What are you doing?”

“I’m running away from home,” he said.

“But you’re just going around and around the block,” said the man.

The little boy responded, “That’s because my mom won’t let me cross the street!”

Even in the earliest ages, there can be restraint in the heart of a child because of godly training by his or her parents. The only way I ever learned to play football was on the training field. The classroom wasn’t enough. Parents must provide training and education for the lessons of life to be ingrained in their children.

Has God given you the divine responsibility of parenthood? Then, spend some time this week to train your child in one area of godly living. Our kids dont stay kids very long ,They grow up really quick and dont have much time after they start there life like we did.With jobs ,responsabilitys girlfriends ,wives .They finaly realize what we went through razin them..Enjoy your kids while there kids ,Teach them every thing that you can,,God Loves yas ,,,We Love Yas,,,Have a Blessed day,,, Your Friend In Christ,,from The Riverbottom,,,Ro Prayers for all
