Looking Good Tom
Last night of hunting for two month's. Here is a picture of Sally and Willow mom and sister to Moose.
The next drop Sally and Willow treed a bear. It was still in the tree when we got there.

Bear???
Did you shoot it out and give the dogs a lickin' over it??
That's some tough trash to have to break off of...it's not so easy to just drive around and shine one up so you can dump on it and then light them up
I know that Yank is taking a bobcat for a spin every now and then but that's also tough to break from when they are so few and far between. Oh well, some day...maybe I'll want a bobcat dog and you'll want a bear dog...eh?
They look good on the wood Buck, it will be interesting to see how she comes along once she gets some hard hunting on her and a pile of coons dumped on her head, but she sure looks good with momma on that tree.

Pro handler, Jason Guilliams, will be calling you this fall to get you and Sally to go bear hunting with him. It is rare to find an Ol' female and a young pup that can put a bear up, much less keep him there. Sally is a true dual purpose hound. Now if you could just get her to run rabbits.

Richard,
The thought had crossed my mind. I bet Daisy would be a dual threat as well. Shadow has also put one up before. We may be able to put a decent red pack together.

Tuesday night...
Richard Lambert and Woody Brinson stopped over for a hunt last night. We loaded up Moose and Yank and they had Montana Red in the box so it was sizing up to be a nice night...
Red looking good...on the wood...with Yank in the background
Red doing it right...
A real action shot of Montana Red...with Moose and Yank in the background
Moose on the wood and Yank up front...
Moose and Red on the wood...and Richard??
We had pretty good work on the trees until the last one when Richard was milling around He was getting ready to tree...he just hadn't decided it was right yet...or maybe he was looking for a stick to fend off cattle...or something...
We had a great hunt making 5 trees and seeing 5 coons. We had two split trees and good dog work together on the rest. I like Red a lot, he's a nice hound with good sense. Moose and Yank looked good too and overall, we had a real good time.
Dave and I enjoyed visiting with Richard and Woody and look forward to maybe doing it again somewhere down the road...we expect to catch up with them again this weekend at ARCA Days...it should be a good time, I hope you all try to make it.

We had a great time and I got to see Da Moose in action. Let me tell you, Da Moose is for real. I could not believe that loud booming mouth! I was sure impressed. If Tom Tom turns out even close to his big brother, then I sure will be happy. Thanks for taking us, Tom. Richard.........

Nice Pictures
Sounds like you guys had a great time and that's what it's all about. Great friends and their dogs Getting-R-Done. Dave
Congratulations!
I'd like to congratulate Travis Sterkis on finishing his young male from the Rabble and Music cross to Nite Ch. this weekend. I think that he won a couple nights in a row to finish him and he sounds like a real nice young hound.
It sounds like there are a few more young hounds out there out of old Rabble Rouser that have just recently finished or have 1st and 2nd place wins to need only a cast win to finish. The Rabble and Music and Rabble and Annie crosses were good ones with some real nice young hounds coming out of them, should make some noise in the next year or so.
I think there are a couple of others from this cross who also have some real potential but haven't yet been put out in front of the public...too bad we couldn't have made those again...

Back...
I just got back from making a trip to Siloam Springs Arkansas. We drove down on Monday and just got back this evening. We met some real nice folks from that part of the country but it was hot for sure...
Dave said he broke Leinie out with Moose on Monday or Tuesday night and they struck, tracked and treed quick and had the meat. He said Leinie looked real good and so did Moose. He didn't get any pictures but we'll try and remedy that over the next few days when we get her out again. I guess it rained most every day this week up here in Wisconsin so I suppose the hunting wasn't too easy with that kind of weather. I see it rained hard again today before I got home so I think we have enough moisture to hold us awhile...that's a good thing.
It's good to be back home.

Tom, are you and Dead Eye Dave going to bring Moose to National Redbone Days?
Mr. Solberg
Hey tom, just wanted to stop by and tell you it was nice to meet to the other day. and i will second the fact that it has been HOT here in arkansas. hope ya'll had a safe trip home.
Meeting
It was nice meeting you too and good to see that there are folks all around the country that like to follow a Red dog. We had some blood in common going back on Bomber's side, I like that blood also. Our Rocky dog and Rusy Red were half brothers at about the same time back in history. Rusty produced Bomber, Rocky produced Rat and Bomber produced Raven and the rest is history. We thought old Rat would produce well on anything heavy Hennings bred and Raven was the best of both worlds because she was double Rusty and heavy Hennings also.
I'll hope to run into you again somewhere down the road and maybe we can get out and hunt some of these Red dogs...but it will have to be winter when I come back to your part of the country...I couldn't take that kind of heat for very long

HA HA HA
Tom the heat wave only last for three or four months here so it aint all bad. Glad yall made a good safe trip to our part of the country. This heat will teach a hound how to pace himself. We will be heading to LA saturday night for an RQE I hope it goes will for us. But you are right about the heat it is worse on me than the dogs.
What we're used to
I guess it's all about what we get used to. I know I've been told that folks can't understand for a minute how we can live with 30-40 below zero weather in the winter and I guess I tell folks the same thing as you...we just kind of get used to it and it's not like that every day of the year.
It was raining and 59 today and a few hours later it quit raining and the sun broke through for a couple of hours and it was 85 and humid...yuck...I don't care what part of the country we're from...that kind of change doesn't set well.
Good luck at the RQE Don, someone said you've got a real nice male there and just a youngster yet.

peanut
thought i would let everyone known peanut finished to grand nite ch last night. I hunted her at the redbone sectional in nova ohio last night she won frist place nt ch and high scoreing redbone of the hunt with 1025+. that finished her to grand nt and makes three grand nites out of the rabble - page cross its to bad that it cant be made again.

Outstanding job Steve, CONGRATULATIONS!
You're right about that cross, it was a good one for sure. It sounds like your female is a real nice hound, good luck with her in the future.
There are some pretty good dogs out of the Rabble and Mya cross also, so maybe they'll make a mark somewhere down the road. Mya and Page were full sisters from the same litter, there's no doubt that those Pete females can reproduce and Rabble usually did his part too. It takes a good combination of male and female to make a good cross, I'm glad we were able to at least get it done once.

Who are the other 2 Gr Nts out of the Page X Rabble cross? How many Grand Nite Champions has Rabble produced now? Who are they? If Sage were finished to Gr Nt then wouldn't there be 3 dogs that could produce a 3 gen all grand?
Page and Rabble cross
Dual Gr. Ch. PR Bate's T-Top Timber Shaker
Gr. Nite Ch. PR Ice Age Rage
These dos just turned 3 this spring so a nice job done of finishing them in the hunts and on the bench, in Shaker's case.

Mark and Shaker
Congratulations Mark and Shaker. Dave
Remember Cuz??
I heard that Cuz was being hunted in the Missouri River bottoms out in Montana, this last week and after picking at an old track, he and another pup cut it hot....a little while later dogs were treed....one on the den with the kits and Cuz 50 feet away split treed...with the momma coon. Hopefully, some of the pictures he took will turn out...
Cuz just came 7 months old and is looking like he'll be a tough draw by fall or next spring...
Mark tells me he's gone on every drop and tracked and treed from day one. Looking back in this thread a page or two...I think you'd find a word or two about this pup...it pays to put some effort into starting them right and then get them in the woods.
We'll look forward to seeing and hearing about Coon Crazy Cuz and some of the other real nice looking and acting pups out of Nt. Ch. PR T-Top Northwoods Yankee and the nice females he was mated to...

Peanut...
And to think she's just 3 years old...
Folks need to remember that a good cross is just a foundation...it takes dedicated people like you to take them and shape them and to give them their opportunities...You've done a real nice job with that female Steve and it's great to think that you can enjoy her for a long time to come.
I don't know if your planning on attending NRD in Ohio but if you do...Good Luck to you and Peanut! Dave will be there with Moose so maybe you guys can hook up and meet and he can get a look at her. I think he'll be hunting Moose, who is a half brother to Peanut...
