We had another successful week in the deer woods with the boys from North Carolina/Tennessee. The freezers will be full again, and it was a blast having them here all week, even tho I was on call at work we made the best of it. We got some rain so it was too muddy to drive back in the fields. Dragging one 800 yards to the road will make a man out of you real quick, and make your legs and back ache the next morning lol.

This is our latest project, AFTER DARKS INSANE BELLA, owned by myself and Elmer Stoltzfus. She been hunted very little, but her natural ability has helped not set her too much, despite the short straw she drew for owners lol. A little more attention and she'll be showing up in hunts after this kill season I'd say.

My ol buddy Joe Lueke sent me an old throw back pic of me when I was a senior in high school 😂😂!! My, My how things have changed in that little time gap!!! This pic was a bunch of us that'd got together to go see WITCHDOCTOR in action. Joe sure wasn't scared to show ol WITCH and I had a blast taggin along. It was guys like Joe and some others that took the time to answer questions and listen to stories of us youngsters, and include us like one of the boys, even when they didn't have no obligation to. They may or may not have known at the time, they was lighting a spark in this young coonhunter that's now a fire that I don't think I could put out if I tried lol. Connhunters and this whole sport can get a bad rap sometimes, and there's still negativity but there's still plenty of good too. This pic reminded me of the good night we all had that night, but also how much I appreciate all those fine men in the generations ahead of me that's helped me out along the way and paved a road for those next in line. That's what it's all about, and I plan to pay it forward myself to those coming up behind me.

I knew you would like that buddy !!!! But, I also knew that you could use it to share with your son, and with the young hunters up there. I know you like taking them along, just like I did with my son and my nephew. You know I’ve had a lot of bad luck with dogs the last 2 years, but old pictures and good Coonhuntin buddies keep ya goin !!! I wish I could remember everyone’s name in that picture. I know in the red shirt that’s Berle Shoulders from over in Illinois, and behind him to the left is Max Berg. That was in his garage, he is the one that set the hunt up. Good times and good memories for sure !!! Hope to have Kate back up and running soon. We will be heading your way to take more pictures, and tree even more coons !!!!! I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas !!! Thanks for sharing buddy !!

Nice lookin hound!

I spectated on a cast one time with Wildcard in it.
There was 3 other winning dogs along with Widcard in this cast, Wildcard dominated the cast,Rickleffs quit and with drew the Rowdy dog he was hunting for Strickland that they had just gave $15,000.oo for(Bad Habit had just recently gotten killed),Wildcard treed 3 raccoons in this 1 woods while all the rest of the dogs were running around lookin stupid!
That always impressed me,and when I see Wildcard name in a ped., I always think of that night!

Mike, that's the kind of storys you like to hear from a stud your pushing one from. Hopefully ol Gun can give me a few nights of glory like that his self lol. He's got things to work on for sure, but he hunts good, nice big mouth and locate, and don't have no problem treeing a coon.

I pleasure hunted with Card 1 time and he treed a couple lay ups that the other dogs never did tree on and they were all Grand Night Champs! That is how cold his nose was and that impressed me that night!!

The cast I saw him go on,all 4 dogs were Gr.Nite Ch. dogs as well, it was a PKC hunt,1st drop, all 4 split,2 had raccoons,1 had a den,1 had a slick, Wildcard had a raccoon in his tree.
Second drop, 1 dog was across a road running wide open,and never left that patch of timber,and never treed,another dog was behind us across another road running, Wildcard and the Rowdy dog were in the woods together and Wildcard made 3 trees and had a raccoon everytime, Rowdy just kept running, and locating and moving,and looking bad,they were never together,Wildcard just kept his mind on treeing coons!And when he treed he stayed and we looked at coons,then all the handlers just quit,nobody could beat him that night!
