katie was due mon went out and checked on her at 8 am sunday she has had 12 and still laboring 2 had died

she had #13 but it didnt make it lost 4 best i can tell we got nine total 5 boys and 4 girls one male is huge and came with the full chrome package bumper and wheels

momma is good and doing her job very well so far

Wow...that's quite a batch of pups! It's probably just as good to lose a few with a litter that size, it will hopefully make it easier for her to keep the rest alive and doing real good.

It has been said before...can't have a hot rod without a little chrome...eh?

ya i agree tom once you get over 7or 8 pups it gets real tuff on momma its sad but is the best for the litter and momma

the chrome is fine with me this guy just got it all lol

Congrats on the litter Mark. I sure wasn't expecting to hear of her having so many but it's definitely a good thing for the litter to be 9 than 13. Hope the 9 do well, can't wait to see them start growing out.

Haze has bred Willow a few times now so she should have a nice litter also come October. This cross is basically exactly the same as the moose/hurnie cross, just reversed. Willow is Moose's littermate and Hurnie is Haze's littermate......good stuff.

Moose has bred Pigeon several times and Pigeon is still wanting more so hopefully she will have a few pups. Pigeon is 9 years old, she used to have big litters but I don't know at this age. I would be happy with 3-6 pups from this cross.

Willow is still receptive but Haze is starting to tell me that she is pretty much done. I think this morning was the last time they need to be together.

Thanks Corey, we are hoping for good success with these litters. The ones we keep will be given the right opportunity to make it for sure and with what we have seen in the past gives me full confidence that these pups will make coondogs.

I guess anytime Wendell. The ole devil is more receptive now than she was last week....

He has bred her several times so there shouldn't be any doubt on getting pups.

I would wait another week or more before I would hunt her though.....she is still standing really good.

That will be fine. But I am serious about her standing good. I will put Haze with her this evening when i get home just to see where she is, but he bred her yesterday morning with no problem at all, so I would wait a little while before hunting her with another male. I will be home until about 6 then I have to head to the church.

Sally, Willow's mom came in heat once and I put her up for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks I got her out and took her hunting with a 12 mos old male pup. I bet you can't guess what happened. Sally had 4 pups 62 days later!

That's what I am talking about.....if willow is like her mom....she'll stand for another 2 weeks.....

Same thing happened to buck. Sally had been in heat, after about 4 weeks, went hunting down at Eric's......turned the dogs loose....sally quit treeing for some reason....went up there and she was locked up with a walker.......I took her the next day to the vet and got her a shot to make sure she didn't have pups.
