Many centuries ago there was a Roman emperor named Diocletian who was known for his hatred of Christianity. He hated the Bible so much that he took a Bible and burned it. Then on top of that burned Bible he erected a monument.

Chiseled on that monument were these words:

“Extincto nomini christianorum” — “The name of Christian is extinct.”

Over the years many like Diocletian have sought to eradicate the Bible and Christianity, but for naught. The Bible is the incorruptible Word of God, and the foul breath of time and the gnawing tooth of decay cannot destroy the Word of God!

“But whoso keepeth His word, in Him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him.” - 1 John 2:5

The word “keepeth” in 1 John is a derivative of a word that sailors used years ago to refer to their practice of steering their course by “keeping” the stars.

This did not mean, of course, that a sailor would not be blown off course or that he might not over-steer. It didn't mean that he might not nod at the wheel or somehow be distracted, or fail to keep a perfect chart. But the goal, the aim, the desire, and the controlling principle in his life were those stars. He knew that in them he could find direction to his destination.

In the same way, John says God’s commandments are to be the standard by which you and I chart our courses in life.

Do you know what the problem with many of us is? Our faith is something tacked onto our lives. Jesus said, “No man can serve two masters…” (Matthew 6:24). Do you believe that? You are to have but one goal in your life, and that is to know Jesus Christ personally, powerfully, passionately, and preeminently. Everything else will flow out of that.
You say, “But wait a minute. I’ve got other things to do! I’ve got a job. I’ve got to rest. I’ve got to have recreation. I’ve got to have friends. I can’t just narrow my interests to one.” When you bring your life into a burning focus, all of these other things will contribute to the main thing.

How Do I Get More Light

Is God righteous? Yes! How is the righteousness of God revealed? “From faith to faith.” How does that work? God gives you truth…you believe that truth…God gives you more truth.

The more you obey the light, the more light you get.

The reason some of us don’t understand the Bible any more than we do is because we have not been living up to the light God has already given us! If you want to understand the part of the Bible you don’t understand, begin to obey the part you do understand and you’ll understand what you didn’t understand. Do you understand?

There are two mistakes people make about the devil. One, they get into demonology—always studying, wondering, and talking about demons. Their focus rests on Satan rather than on the Lord Jesus. The Bible says we’re to resist the devil; it doesn’t say we’re to chase him.

On the other hand, there are those who are flippant about the devil. They have nicknames for him and think he’s a cartoon or fantasy.

The truth is, we have a powerful adversary, the devil. Peter likens him to a roaring lion! A mature Christian recognizes that he has an enemy. He respects the power of the enemy. Then he clings to the power of the Lord Jesus Christ to overcome this great adversary.

Is the lion prowling around your life? Take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and break free from his jaws of destruction. The Trying Faith Works Patience

Good Mornin All ,,Well the river has goten back down in its banks but theres about 300 acers of crops that was distroyed from the water. O Well thats part of livin in the Riverbottoms. All ,I know is GOD is good no matter what the situation and always makes things work out. I love him ! What does God want out of you? He wants you to experience the fullness of Christ. And the way to this is through trials and tribulations. Can you be patient during this process? If you’re like most people, probably not. We become like children who don’t know the difference between “No” and “Not yet.” If you say, “Wait a while,” to them that is, “No.” They want it now. But God is interested in maturing you. A Danish proverb says, “Give to a pig when it grunts and give to a child when it cries, and you will have a fine pig and a bad child.” Tribulation brings patience, and patience makes us mature.

What are you waiting for? What are you struggling with? Give it to Jesus. Trust in His timing and His provision. I heard about a prayer meeting they were having in an old country church awhile back. It was one particular woman’s turn to pray, so she sat up somberly and said, “God, please help all those people who are out there right now having such a good time.”
It’s true that in many Christian communities today, people have an “us versus them” mentality. They think, “We’re the serious ones in here with sad faces and angry scowls. How dare those people out there have any fun!” And in the end, all it does is create bitterness on both sides.
But what if instead of just staying in holy huddles, more people got up out of the pews and really engaged the lost? It could be something as simple as hosting a neighborhood get-together or being intentional with people at work. It’s not hard; it just takes a little bit of effort.
God’s love is for everyone. And as believers, we’re the channel through which His love very often flows. So don’t close yourself off from the world. Engage with the lost, show them God’s love, and pray their eyes would be opened to the truth of the Gospel!

Ya Everybody ! Its great to know that GOD is with us . Whats even better is he will save us from our sins. A little boy had a jigsaw puzzle that on one side had a map of the world and on the other side had a picture of a man. His mother asked him to try and work it and before long the little fellow had put the puzzle together. The mother was surprised to find that the little fellow knew so much about geography. She asked him, “How on earth did you do that?”

“Oh,” he said, “I worked the other side first. When I got the man right, the world was right.”

How true that is! We will never fix this world until we get the man right – the man Jesus Christ, that is.

Are things in your world confusing you these days? Turn to Jesus and trust Him to make sense of what you don’t understand. I’ve always found airplane flight amazing. They are so heavy, yet they fly! The pilot gets behind the controls, moves the throttle, and those great engines begin to roar. And the first thing you know, you’re flying.
Has the law of gravity been canceled? No, but there’s another law that comes into effect called the law of aerodynamics, which is a greater law than the law of gravity. When you get right with God, the law of sin and death is still there. But there’s a new law. It’s the law of life in Christ Jesus that sets you free from the law of sin and death. As long as you abide in Jesus Christ, then you are free from the law of sin and death.
Have you been set free? Then, it’s your turn to set another captive free with the Good News. Go out and share this free gift with someone today.
