Jarrod, the pup I got from Preston off of Jack is doing great. Won't be a year old until the 18th of this month and has treed twice by himself (with the meat). Good mouth!

That's great mr Copland. We have jack pups off 6 females that are already treeing coons.....your pup is special cause its of Joes Melton's lady dog and she's a nice reproducer. Lady is the momma to Mr Terry's Speed Queen female and joes bad boy billy dog. Ur male pup is just getting started Gary u will have many years of great nights with ur HAXKSAW JACK pup!!!

Glad to hear he is getting going, I bet that sucker is a tree dog, and he had one of the best mouths Ive ever heard on a pup when he left here. Im glad your enjoying him.. Keep him in the woods and you will have a dog anyone would love to breed to. He is bred right to throw big mouth coondogs!

Jack pups

It seems that there are going to be quite a few "good ones" I really enjoy the calls and texts from good folks who got a pup raised it and to hear that they are treeing, several split treeing with the coon holding pressure. Thanks for all the updates and support.

Jack Bred a good old country coon dog last night.. Also there are some very nice Fireball bred females scheduled to be bred to him as they come in. There will be a few pups available from Jack later on..

Jack finally got up on the wood the other night and done it solo. I couldn't find a coon, but he sure made it sound like there was one there. I have been laying him up and hunting him about twice a week on short hunts. Preston where does he get him large size from. His head is twice the size of my old male dogs. He probably going to be an 80 lbs plus size dog. His litter mate sister is a small type dog.

There's not much telling to be honest, that pup is family bred but not really "linebred" my female will prolly end up being in the 50 to 55lb range. Jack is a 60lb dog, mollyB prolly 65lb with a huge block head. but with Doc being in there on the bottom and Twister I'd say it likely came from there. I made that cross mainly because of where Meltons little girl is in that pedigree on the bottom and Fireball 3 big john being Jacks grandpa. That cracker jack sounds like he may be a prospect to use in a Half bro/sis cross off old Jack. My willie pup off Jack and Girl is a 45lber. Most of the tighter breeding I did produced a smaller frame dog. Send me a new pic of ole Cracker Jack I'd like to see him!

Going back 1 more generation would pick up old Fireball 2 more times Once on Rocky and 1 more time on Butler and Scharfs sadie. Notice the slight "Pull" from Big John, not bad for a dog thats been gone a awhile. Lots of Directions a person can go with a pup like these.. I kinda figured this way on this cross, no matter where the "throwback" came from it would be coming from a good hound, I think linebreeding from a foundation of the best crosses made on this strain "The family breeding" will help to strengthen the results in the very near future.. Moving forward after these pups finish out will be fairly easy,

Pups

Jack is currently bred to Girl. This the same cross that Willie is from. Its a repeat cross. Willie is the only living pup from the 1st cross. Illness took his littermates b4 6 weeks old. Willie was born with all the natural tools to make a nice coondog. He will be 2 in late June, and I look forward to hunting him in the night hunts down the road..
