Season opens tomorrow
Wont really change the way I hunt other than now they might get a few coon in the right situations. Im not much of a fur hunter...Im a dog trainer and the more coons left to tree, the easier it is to train young dogs so I will put a few of the right ones out and leave the rest for next hunt. Good luck to everyone this season. If we do the right things with our dogs over the winter...we should have some really good young dogs ready to make their debut in the spring of next year.....Shane

I don't kill them all eithier .But when I was young and during fur season a big coon would bring almost a days pay (minimum wage ) I would fill my tags .Don't have that to worry with any more.

Grace billy x Bree coming along very nicely doing a lot of the same things I've seen before just get under a coon as fast as she can split cover steal another dogs track and tree ahead of them it don't matter just action packed little female might even shoot her a coon out one night just to see what she does

Little Amos looked awful good Shane stretch out on that tree has any of his half brothers and sisters won anything out of there back yard

Yes, I believe he has some half brothers and sisters who have done a little winning. They accumulated those wins and titles from hunts in 7 different states the last time I counted....but the oldest of them is just 3 yrs old so I am pretty sure that list will continue to grow. That's what I like about this line of dogs.....they can win anywhere in the country that you want to compete with them.....and that's a pretty rare thing. Hope your treeing a few out there this season. I sure am having fun with these young Billy pups.....never had so many top prospects with so much potential at one time

Outlaw Infamous Amos (10 mo old) and Dual Grand Ch. Moonlight Aftershock locating a tree.

Amos and Shock Treed!
Amos is a 10 month old pup out of Dual Grand Ch Outlaw Billy the Kid semen and Dual Grand Ch. Moonlight Deana which makes him a half brother to Gr.Nt.Ch. Breanna and Gr.Nt.Ch. Britt who are also out of Deana. He goes deep, opens quick and has a big bawl mouth on track, awesome locate and flips it over to a hard chop on the tree. He is an outstanding completely natural young dog. Showed him one live caught coon at about 6 months and he treed on it and have taken him with an old dog about 5 times and twice by himself....and he has run and treed everytime out! It has been very hard for me to hold back and not hunt him alot more but I know how easy it is to set a good prospect back by over doing it. This dog is very special to me so I will try to do everything right with him so that he will make the kind of hound that I believe he can be someday. I have two other female pups out of Billy and different Gr.Nt.Ch. females that I am also training so my time is getting split up between them. I hope everyone else who has one of these Billy pups is having as good a time with there's as I am with mine

There is one half sister that i can think of that was one of the best i ever seen she won nat days one year and I be leave she reproduced a over all purina champ also

Good litters of winners produce good litters of winners and that is the foundation of my breeding program. When a line of dogs produces winners generation after generation.....that is a what makes it foundation stock.

Out if curiosity, how many of JJ and BTK pups were strategically placed in competition hunters hands like Kate pups were? And back then,I don't think they were thinking about the reproducers list.

Bree has been entered in 6 $kc hunts since their new year started Oct 1 and she's got in the money in 5 of them and with the win last night she should be squarely in the lead for the redbone breed. She is do in heat any time this month and she will be bred to her uncle Jet when that happens. Two solid winners from the same winning line of dogs....should be a recipe for some pretty special pups that will do their own share of winning in the future
How is your young crop of Outlaw/Moonlight pups doing? Are you seeing any of the traits in them that made old Kate famous? Not many people ever get to see the early stages of development of the true greats like Kate, but you did. I would think it would be pretty exciting to see some of the same things from a pup or pups that go back to her. Let us know if you are seeing similar things.
I have seen alot of old Billy in my young male I call Outlaw Infamous Amos....he sure is reminding me of Billy the Kid in alot of ways
