A friend and I finally made it up to hunt with Trevor and The Kraken last night. What a “NIGHT TO REMEMBER ”. What I witnessed was a very well mannered hound at the kennel. Trevor was very respectful and polite. I’ve followed Trevor Blue, Jam, The Kraken and many others out of Blue for several years. I felt like The Kraken was the dog that I wanted to breed my female to. So the story goes like this.. We put my female in the kennel and she wasn’t really excited about the idea of breeding. After a little while of trying we decided to remove her from the kennel and give them a break. She came through the door like a raging Bull and blasted through the three of us. I spun and made a dive only to find myself face first in a big mud puddle. She’s been laid up in heat missing the first part of hunting season. It was a scary thought with her at large and in heat while kicking rocks at us running down the road. It was all good though because within 7-8 minutes she had found a coon that decided to stir early (before 6 pm). She was probably a few hundred yards off the road and had it treed. We gathered her back up and headed for the kennel. We wrestled around with them and tried to make it happen. We had no luck and I thought it’s just not meant to be. I stood there for a couple more minutes in the kennel with them and they quickly locked up. We then let them separate, put The Kraken in the truck and went for a hunt. Within a few minutes from breeding a female he was in the woods setting under a big coon. The wind was terrible but a nice ringing chop could be clearly heard. He handled great and Trevor recasted him. Once again..a nice locate and into a steady chop. He had another one. I’ve hunted for many years and realize they all have a bad night or two. It was a good time and I don’t see how these pups (if she took) won’t make great hounds. She is very fast on the ground, average tree dog, legitimate first or second strike, opens enough to stay out of trouble, likes to be alone but will tree with others, wind trees laid up coons, not rattle-headed, very smart, good locate and doesn’t beat/bang coming treed (usually). She is pretty accurate and bred from many reproducers. I didn’t start her. She was started by Logan Rose and I finished her. I’m sure he would tell you the good and bad that he knows about her. She will chew and hop at the tree just a tiny bit. I did have to beak her off opossum when she was young. I don’t remember her ever running anything else . (EDITED)- I’m not going to take anymore names until after she has the pups.

Kraken is holding onto the top spot for all breeds in the National performance race with over 18 points won.

There is a rumor that Kraken just sired the youngest Nite CH in UKC history. If you have a coon treeing female and think she would cross well on Kraken come see him go.

A few really nice crosses have been made this week. I have a 8 month old male off Kraken and a female named Monster that folks will be seeing in the hunts Amy day now. His sister is the one that made Nite CH at 6 months old. The whole litter of 6 have been treeing their own coon since 5 months old.

Kraken had a pretty good past week. We were lucky to win a PKC cast Wednesday night, get qualified for the UKC world Thursday night, 1st place Grand Nites Ashland Spring hunf Friday night, 1st place Grand Nites Ashland Spring hunt Saturday night to win overall hunt winner for the second year in a row.

Got Krakens 50th UKC cast win last night to finish him to the hall of fame as a 2 year old. Been a real pleasure chasing him around the last couple of years.

Kraken had a pup in the final 6 of the babystakes. Biddie was hunted by Robbie Wright and Michael Williams. They've done a great job with her. That finished her to a 10 month old PKC CH.

A litrermate sister to Biddie is a Nite Ch with 6 wins toward Grand at 10 months old. Really happy with what we're seeing from Kraken pups early on.

Kraken and I were lucky to make the Final 4 at the Ohio Top 16 of the state hunt. He treed 5 coon straight between the 2 rounds before missing a coon by 1 tree at the very end of the late round. It was a tough blow but I was proud of him.

Kraken looked good at National Bluetic Days this weekend. He was turned loose 12 times treeing 11 coon and 1 den. Was high scoring dog of the hunt Friday night and would have been overall winner for the 2nd year in a row but I missed the deadline to return the scorecard by 10 minutes for last nights cast win.

Kraken pups are starting to win despite his oldest litter just over a year old. Several pups with wins now from several different crosses.

This 10 month old qualified for the world hunt at 9 months old and picked up an impressive pkc cast win.

Clayton Stark with Stark Outdoors cane to hunt with Kraken Saturday night. His video will be coming out Subday at 6 pm on his YouTube channel. If you haven't got the chance to see some if his videos he does some absolutely stunning work! If you like coon hunting you'll love his videos. Kraken was turned loose 6 times and treed 6 coon. Was wondering if there are any females bred or with pups out of him close to North Carolina at this time been following him and his pops ole blue for a min and would loved to had one be off blue but I’ll take the kraken pups cause I really like em redtick that’s s my color and he’s all coondog as well just like old blue and his grand pappy if I get the right female I’m try and throw him over some the old rebel blood that crosses great in my opinion with that mainstreet line of dogs but let me know if there’s anything close to me here in the blue ridge please sir thanks for your time

Kraken looked good first Round at Autumn Oaks making back to back Grand 16s. He scored 700 plus on 4 coon. Drew a tough cast Sautrday night and came up short. Try it again next year.

Appreciate it! It was a tough cast for sure. Guy struck my dog on the first cut for 100 I said it was all my dog and 100% was. Judge then minused me for 75. Got to love it. I never stood a chance.

Kraken looked good at the superstakes doubling up our first try Tuesday night. He treed 4 of the 6 coon scored on between the 2 rounds. That put us in the semifinals where we got beat last night bu a nice guy and a nice hound.
