Creative juices
You seem to have stumbled onto a fountain of new and creative juices Richard...Ever ready kennels...Tommy Rabbleseed...holy cow...where to do you come up with 'em?
Lots of stones to turn over yet in the next several years...I'm getting older and now I start to see that it becomes more and more difficult to plan, execute and then see through, new and exciting crosses. I've got very strong, line bred blood sitting here in the yard and it's enough to see me through for a long time to come I think.
Folks like you, Dave Woofter, Pastor Mike, Buck and others are putting together some nice crosses that will carry forward into the future and I sure hope I'm around long enough to see how some of it turns out. In the mean time, we'll keep messing with a cross or two and we'll start a dog or two...or three...and see how long we can keep enjoying this great sport and these wonderful hounds.

Chance
Hey Carl, that's great, I hope the kids had a really good time with her. Nothing creates excitement like winning now and then so it was nice that she got some wins while they were holding the lead. It's fun to hear about her progress Carl and the fact that you are able to enjoy her in different ways like you are, is even more satisfying to me. With fall just around the corner, we'll hopefully see her continue her learning process and that she'll make a nice dog in the woods too.
Congratulations to you, the Schmitt kids and to your female who has truly gotten a second "Chance"

Wilton Kid's Day
The Schmitt kids had a ball handling the coon dogs provided by Carl Gudgeon. Chance was a great dog for the kids to handle and Rabble blood is working well. They kids are looking forward to next year's event.

Quite a pair
Now that's quite a pair...I think it's great to see a dog and a youngster like that, all primed up and looking for action...good stuff.
It looks like you've got plenty of help with the dogs Carl, I'll bet it's all the more fun when you see that kind of light in a youngster's eyes.

Don and Deuce
I heard from Don Barnett Sr this morning and he is surely on a roll with his nice young hound Deuce. In his words...
"Deuce picked up his first nitech win last night at Hattieville AR. Jason handled him, when he called me after the hunt he was excited. He said Deuce looked more like a coondog than ever."
Deuce is a 2 year old male out of Rabble Rouser and Machine Gun Annie and he's coming into his own with 3 first place wins in a row to finish to Nt. Ch and now picking up his first Nt. Ch. win towards Grand Nite Champion to make it 4 in a row.
Congratulations to Don and Deuce and Jason, who handled Deuce last night!

Duece
I saw him last weekend at a hunt. Long legged hound. Nice handler also. I bet he can cover some ground.

Nice pictures
Hey Carl...those are some nice pictures. Good to see she's keeping you interested...and fall is just around the corner.
Sometimes we don't know what's in a package when we get it but it sure is fun to be surprised in a good way...eh?
I'm thinking there's a couple of good ol' boys wishing they had given Second Chance more of a first chance

Moose
Dave took Moose to a hunt on Saturday night and did OK. He ended up getting a first place win on a single coon treed where Moose got on the front end track and tree.
Here's a nice picture of a real nice young hound...
Moose is by way of
Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top Rabble Rouser
and
Gr. Nite Ch. PR Long Tall Sally
We'll be breaking Moose, Yank and Leinie out again in the next week or so. The girls have all been in heat but by the first week in September, they should be done so we can get that distraction off their minds...and then to the woods we go.
The pups are all ready for step two in their training and we'll hopefully have some nice stories to tell in the next few weeks.

That sure is a handfull/armload of pup. I can see where he got his name from. How old was he?
This were the pictures I took of the litter @ 5 week's old.
This is the litter sister,

All grown up
Hey Buck, it's neat to see how a big dog today, looked as a pup starting out. He was a big pup at that age and he's a big dog now at 2 years old.
Moose has a good future in front of him and it will be nice at some point to look back at how it all started out.

Deuce
I saw in another post that Don Barnett, Jason Goodwin and Allan Gullet are still winning with their nice young hound Deuce.
Deuce got another win towards Gr. Nt. Ch. last night making it 2 wins in a row. He also got a PKC cast win this last week so he's doing real good. Deuce is only a 2 year old dog so has a bright future ahead of him. It also sounds like he may be able to get it done in the stud pen because he's got a few pups on the ground that seem to be putting it together at a very early age.
Deuce is by way of...
Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top Rabble Rouser
and
Gr. Nite Ch. PR Machine Gun Annie.
I wish them all the best of luck in their quest to finish Deuce to Grand Nite Champion.

Greataful Dead Red
Congratulations to Randy Ficken and his nice young male dog, Greatful Dead Red. I see on another post that he got a first place win last night to finish Red to Nite Champion. I know that Randy puts his dogs in the woods and that's what it takes to make a top dog.
Red is a litter mate to Don Barnett's Nite Ch. Deuce dog so it seems that the cross produced at least a couple of nice young dogs that can get it done in the woods.
Red is by way of...
Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top Rabble Rouser
and
Gr. Nite Ch. PR Machine Gun Annie
Nice job done with another nice young male from this cross.

So does that make 12 Nt Ch and 7 Gr Nt Ch's out of Rabble now? I guess that puts a little more pressure on Willow, Moose and Cherry to get going. Is Chad Cartright going to put his Ruby female in any hunts after she weans her pups?
NO PRESSURE
There Richard Willow should be NITECH by year's end. Da Moose, well no pressure, two more NITECH coming soon out of ole Rabble.

Cooler weather
We've got cooler weather moving in and it's looking like maybe we'll get some training done this weekend. I'll be going out tomorrow night or Friday night to set the live trap...coon got away again...
The females are just about done with heat so we'll be getting more back to normal around here and we'll be able to fire up Moose, Yank and Leinie pretty quick. There's a young dog we'll be dragging along so we'll see how it goes as we work to get them back into shape.
Moose shouldn't be much longer now that we'll have some hunts coming up on a regular basis and the weather cooler so we can get them back in shape.
We'll be looking forward to a good weekend for training and maybe even hunting.
Good luck to everyone going to Autumn Oaks, Buck and Mike, I hope you guys draw some good casts and get into coons.

Weekend work...
Spent a little time in the woods last night with Dave Geiger and his Katie female. We took Yank, Katie and Maggie. It was Maggie's first trip to the woods at night...not bad...They had at least 3 kit coons scattered above their heads so did a real nice job with this.
Yank, Katie and Maggie. It was the only shot where I had all 3 in the frame
These 3 are Maggie in style with Yank in the background.
Yank hadn't been to the woods in over 2 months and although he showed his rust, they made two trees and held up pretty good. Maggie has to learn to bust brush yet but when she gets on the coon track and around a tree, she shows extremly good instincts. Dave's Katie female is a green dog but moving in the right direction so should be a fun fall.
