tonight was a kind of a bust

I loaded up Haze and Moose tonight and drove 45 minutes to a friends farm. Turned them loose.......5 minutes later they slammed a tree at 400 yards and were hammering. I walked to them and found them in a laurel thicket that we have treed in before. They were really pounding so after I looked a couple of minutes, I leashed them and took them to the creek to let them cool off before I turned them loose again. while I was standing there, my light just goes out......bam...just like that. I ended up using the light on my cell phone to walk out to the truck. I waited a while to see if the light was going to come back on but it didn't. So, I drove an hour and a half for a 20 minute drop. At least they got treed.

Pastor Mike, your light will only last a coupe of nights and then you have to recharge it. I guess that you aren't used to hunting 3 nights in a row. Are you and Buck still going up to Jason's tonight? If so, you had better check Chick before you turn those big studs loose with her.

Ha Ha....

It's a LED light.....shouldn't have to recharge it but once a week even if I hunt every night. It was working after about an hour so something is up with it. I charged my old Blazer light last night after I got home for a backup.

I have to admit, I sure was slow getting up this morning......I don't know if I can handle hunting every night....

Yep, we are heading down to Jason's tonight. Going to be in the 50's so it should be a fun night.

50's!! That's good huntin weather for this time of year! Don't have too much fun! Amber is a little stiff this morning, so looks like back to the vet is in the plans. Seems like its always something, especially when they are ready to be pounded in the timber and ur after that ntch title, eh? Haze will have to rely on the rest of them young guns all u fellas down there have, to finish out. Looks like it won't be long though! Should be an interesting fall for Haze pups to say the least!

To bad the 50 degree weather didn't last. Irene has got it humid, muggy and miserable again. We still made a couple of drops last night after the storms. Didn't have the camera, but here are a couple of pics from monday night down at Jason's.

Chic.......a nice young prospect out of Haze.

Haze tied in the background.....the ole boy has enjoyed being out this last week. He's even starting to muscle back up a little.

Well......I couldn't stand it, so at almost 2am, I went out and loaded up Haze, Moose and new female out of Haze named Ginnie. I figured I was glutton for punishment taking 3 dogs but what the heck....why not. Here is the result, all 3 dogs with the meat.

Ginnie is a nice prospect out of Haze. She is a little older, but has only had a small amount of exposure so we'll see if she can come on strong this fall. She did a real nice job running this track, was even ahead of Haze and Moose for a short distance. She'll be one to watch for this fall.

Well, allison and I are sitting at roanoke airport waiting to board our plane for vacation. Going to florida to see our new twin nephews and hit the beach for a few days.

Richard, I hear that chick will be at a hunt tonight at back creek. Oh yea, our other project, you know, what's in the oven is still looking good and I am more convinced everyday.

Haze and Reba 1 and 1/2 year old

This is Boone, he is one the Haze's puppys from Ragged Ridge Reba. He is really doing well for a 1 and 1/2 year old. He ran this track by himself 350 yds on really dry ground, up a rock cliff, and over a wire woven fence and had the coon.

Yes there is richard. We will be on the gulf side so hopefully we will have a few days of good weather. Our flight has been delayed for about 2 hours so now we are bored.

Jared, I am trying to see the video on my wife's phone. I am glad Boone is doing well. This will be a fun fall for him and you. His sister lacy is doing well too. Its to bad that there are 3 pups in that litter that are dead. I hear that one of the traits this litter is showing is great track speed. Is Boone pretty quick on track also?

There is guy in new york that has litter mate female to these pups. He is wanting to sell her. I thinking of maybe purcasing her. He said he has not messed with her much only been to the woods like 5 or 6 times and never seen a caged coon. What do you think? I would like to get her closer to Indiana so i can see if she turns out. I really dont need another dog. I try to stay focused on one at a time. Do you know anyone from around Indiana that may have some interest?
