A BDL that is in good condition, operates correctly, clean is worth more than 250-300, look on gunbrokers as a frame of reference....

Groundhog day HB,use that 700 on him, gonna go loaf today at the farmstore, got rain comin' today ..... better than snow.

Remington 700

Rex,
The bdl has a black piece on the forearm, older ones have better wood-walnut with checkering, lined buttpiece, there are several variations of the 700, all are good guns, but the older ones are made better than the newer ones, especially the ones with trigger problems, nice guns, I still have an old 788, basic gun, but a tack driver....

Only thing left ta do is lick your wound & go on I reckon,or do like a buddy of mine does every mornin',he traded on a junk gun once & got took,he kept the gun & set it next to the back door of the house so every time he leaves home he sees that gun to remind him to be careful on what he trades for that day,he says it's worked so far.

Posted by chuck west on 02-03-2016 12:02 AM:

Hillbilly,if I lived closer to you ,I'd buy that gun off you . I'd order me a new Douglas or Shilen barrel and a new Timney or Canjar trigger ,then you would have a dog that would hunt .
