MASON BIRTHDAY PARTY
Mason's Birthday was the 18th and we had a little party at his house but his Daddy was working offshore so the Big Party was today at a Laser Tag place. I gave him his first little BB Gun. Would have rather been home on the river so he could have shot it but I couldn't wait to give it to him. Gave it to him in the parking lot because in todays goofy world no telling who would have flipped out if I brought it in a public place around kids to give it to him. Beverly had him a nice set of Lego's to open with the other presents. He was some proud of his first hunting gun.

BO
Took BO out for a short run tonight. Didn't leave until just after 10 and went up past Haunted House Bottom to a place I will start calling Lake Bottom. I eased the 4 wheeler down into some pines off the little gravel road and cut him down a spring fed creek. He went in a few hundred and struck a good track and moved it down the creek a couple hundred more yards and fell treed. He was on a Ironwood that went into a big water oak. He was treed hard but if he was there I couldn't find him. Could see it ok from one side but not any place else. Came on home and saw that Pepper won the UKC WORLD handled by a 20 year old young man. Congrats to him and Pepper, what an Awesome feeling it must be! Bet he don't sleep at all tonight, I know I wouldn't!

BO and ANN
Sleepy came from Baton Rogue tonight and made a hunt with me. He brought Ann and Star. We went to BO's Bottom and cut them into the swamp bottom. Ann struck followed by BO and even Star opened a few times. This was only her 2nd time in the woods at night. They moved the track on out fairly well but it blew up on them at 255yds. They located a few times in there but wouldn't settle and never did move it out. Very odd as I thought it was a decent track. BO decided to go look for another after a little while and made a big loop[and struck a track that he bumped around on a little then fell treed. We rode around and as we got into him Ann split treed about 25yds from BO. Bo was on a little tree that went up into some junk and a big Beech that we could never get to where we could get the light up in the top. We give up and walked over to Ann.. She was on a medium size cypress but same story, just couldn't shine it. We rode a little ways and cut them through some big woods towards some sloughs. They started opening on a feeder track and moved it on out. By this time we were both soaked as it had been light raining a while but conditions were so good for hunting that I was enjoying setting in the rain talking to a friend listening to two good blue hounds work a track. They fell treed a little over 350yds and we went into them. They were on a small Ironwood and Sleepy found the little coon right off. We petted them up and left the little fellow to grow up and run again. On the way out we found a Bucks Skull where someone must have wounded it but never found it. Took a couple picture and we came on in. Good Hunting!!
Scott, I'm sure Mason will make many stories with his BB Gun. I hope they are all good ones and not some like his Paw Paw made, lol! When you mention BB Gun around my Mom she still rolls her eyes at me. I had got a good whipping one day when I was young and I got mad and took my BB Gun out to the pump shed and shot all of my Moms Canning Jars. I think my Dad wore out one of his hips running me around in a circle whipping my tail! Mason is a good kid though so hopefully glass will be safe around him and that new gun.

BUCK
This is the Buck we found coming out of the woods tonight. Decent 8 point that someone was probably sick over not recovering last year.

Pebbles
This is Bogue Chitto Pebbles. She is off Zero and Fannie and I like her. I was worried that Bam Bam being a month older would be rough on the little girl and he was for a day or so but then she Had Enough and put him in his place. They get along fine now. She's got Grit and loves the river.

BO
Picture of BO's head framed against the glow of the moon while treed deep in the swamp. He got in there deep tonight and worked a bad track up and got it treed. He was between 3 little county roads that went around him like a huge triangle. I rode all 3 and closest I could get was 902yds so I hid the 4 wheeler grabbed the gun and took off to him. I hit an old woods road that went his way for half the distance then it was swamp the rest of way. 100yds before I got to him I broke out into a clear cut that looked a year old. The only tree out in the middle still standing was a huge water oak and that's where BO was treed. I had the coon looking at me from 80yds out but after I got in there I never could find him again. Took a couple pictures of BO and we made our way back to the 4 wheeler. I was gone from the house almost 3 hours for that one tree. I was in a new place up past Haunted House Bottom but we sure can't get any treed near the road. Oh well, we both need the exercise and we got it tonight!
Thanks Wendell. I like them both and they both have the kind of mouths I like. Got high hopes for them and the pup I keep out of BO and Stormy.

BO
BO got treed over 700yds down the cypress slough across the road from the house tonight. He was on a huge cypress and I could shine it good from several spots but I never got him to look. Made it a short hunt. Going to be in the mid 50's tomorrow night so we will hit it hard then and enjoy the cool night.
Thanks Josh and Bill.
Jody, I have some nice 2" thick wide Sinker Cypress. Some with the live edge still on them just like they came out of the river and others I have edged. I will go to my shop where it is all stacked tomorrow and take a couple pictures and put on here and will let you know how wide they are. Would love to make another hunt with you and Troy while I'm there the first part of December. Take Care.

SINKER CYPRESS
Jody here is a picture of some of the Sinker I have stacked in my shop air drying. All of it has been drying for two years or longer. The quality 2" thick slabs were under a couple bundles and I will have to take my Skytrac and move them off to get to them to get you a few good pictures. I have a man coming from Biloxi this weekend wanting 1,500 Bd. Ft. of 1" boards so when I fill his order the 2" slabs will be where I can get them. I checked the width and the widest I have is 18". I should be able to haul a dozen or so 4' long between the back of the cab and the dog box. Let me know how many you want and I will be glad to bring them with me, Thanks.
Rowdy, I'm looking forward to the end of this month and making that trip to hunt with you and Jazz. Good Luck this weekend. If she does her thing you won't need much luck, she will kick their tails!
On a side note, This Country had another Horrible Shooting in Oregon where more than 10 students have been killed. There is witness's that say he lined them up and asked their Religion, if they said Christian he shot them in the head if they didn't say anything he shot them in the leg. This is being reported by Fox News right now. This happened this morning and they still won't release a name or picture of the shooter which they ended up killing. All Obama can talk about is more gun laws or taking our guns, not the fact that this sounds like a hate crime against Christians. There are millions and millions of gun owning Law Abiding Citizens in this country. Its a shame these horrible things happen carried out by horrible people. But its even more Horrible that our leaders use it just a few hours later for their on political agenda of trying to disarm this country. Drugs have been against the law forever and how many trillions has been spent trying to stop it from coming in this country? Today I guarantee there is more illegal drugs in this country than there ever was. Guns would be the same only we couldn't hunt or protect ourselves against all enemies, Foreign and Domestic. I will tell you how to stop this type shootings. Stop all foreigner's from entering the country, Stop sending aid to Foreign Country's, Take all Prisoners on death row and put them in the express lane to death. Then take all those millions saved every month and put security in every school in our country to protect OUR CHILDREN! The next time a crazy decides to shoot someone and they are caught alive take them out in the street and put a bullet in their head, on TV. Until we get as mean as the savage monsters that are harming innocent people this will NEVER STOP! I don't care how many Stupid Laws they come up with! Why don't they try to enforce the ones we have? Another idea I have would be before any new law can be adopted, two old laws have to be abolished. That way the more laws they want to make up they have to get rid of twice as many. Maybe then we could get down to a few laws that made sense and they would enforce. My Heart and Prayers go out to the family of the ones killed or hurt in this brutal attack on innocent people. May GOD watch over them.

Sad day...
Well said Steve. This country refuses to punish people for crimes committed! We need to start making examples of these pukes. But there's always someone who protects the wicked. Eye for an eye and things would turn around, sadly that won't happen.
My prayers for the families, fellow Americans, and Christians!

PUPS
This is picture of a male pup out of my litter of BO X Stormy. All the pups are the same size except one a little smaller and this one, The Giant! Look at the head on this monster, he is 20 percent bigger than any other pup. Him and a couple others have got dark quick but the others are lighter and just starting to tick up. Been giving them blended up mush puppy feed and they have started lapping it up. In a few days they will be really digging in. They are 3 weeks old today.
Took BO to BO's Bottom tonight and cut him from off the hill instead of in the swamp bottom. I like to switch up where I cut them from or else they will hunt the same route every time. He got in around 300yds and started working a decent feeder track and moved it out a couple hundred yards and hit the tree and lit it up. I rode around and pulled up within 30yds of the tree, loved that. Hit the squaller twice and he peeked at me from out on a limb high up. I popped a few rounds his way and another coon that I hadn't seen bailed out and made a run for it. I shot a couple more times and out came this coon, dead. BO worried him over then we loaded up and rode a few hundred yards and cut him again. He went down an ole dry slough bed, opened a few times then hushed. I watched him on the Garmin and he was drifting out and cutting and slashing back and forth about 50yds each way as he moved deeper. He stopped for about a minute and I knew what was coming next, Long, Quivering Bawl Locates over and over then he finally settled in and blew the top out. Went into him and he was on another water oak and I found this coon in a deep fork of a huge limb. We left him to get back to his business and we came on home. I set out in the building petting and talking to all the pups awhile. They are walking all around and starting to growl, bark and wag their tail a little. Fun to watch them play and tumble each other around.

Feeding time for the pups this morning! Didn't take them long to figure out how to lap these two plates up in 5 minutes or less.

pups
All 10 yesterday evening at feeding time. I will leave Stormy with them until next Thursday when they turn 4 weeks old then I will let her visit just a couple times a day for about 30 minutes. Gradually wean them off her by 6 weeks old.

They look FINE
I got my eye on a couple that jumped off the page at me. I'll keep it to myself, not knowing the sexes of the pups. But those are some lookers Steve. Make sure mine is leash broke and potty trained when you get him up here. Make sure Mason gives him a little extra love too. Nothing better for pups than kids that will romp with them.

PUPS
Chris I bet I know the ones you looking at. I was going to put them in the yard for a few minutes today and get pictures of the 5 males together then the 5 females but it was cloudy and cool all day, around 63 so I felt it best to leave them in their heated building. I also had to meet with a man that came up from Biloxi looking at my Sinker Cypress and he placed an order and give a deposit and will come pick it up in the next two weeks. He wanted a bunch of 1 X 6" for a porch ceiling on the new house they are building on the Biloxi Back Bay. Also a Pecky Cypress mantel for his Fire Place and some other Pecky for a ceiling in his Man Cave and some for cabinets. It added up to a nice chunk of change and I sure needed it. So this evening I have been putting 1 X 12" on sawmill and cutting them in half for his order. I should finish tomorrow. Right about now you probably know your cast and headed out to win the PKC Baby Stakes with Jazz and I wish yaw the best. Have Fun and Good Luck!!! Don't forget to text me when its over!

PUPS
This is a video from yesterday of pups at feeding time. They come alive when they here my big mouth. I'm not as popular as Ole Mama but I'm a close 2nd, lol! I make lots of racket at feeding time so they shouldn't have any problem with loud noises. If they don't spook from my big mouth you should be able to knock coons out with a 30-06 and they never flinch, lol! We feeding them 3 times a day now and they are eating good. Moved them out of the building today and into the pup pen. Time to get used to the outside and all the sights, sounds and smells. Click on picture to see video.

BRIAR UPDATE
Thanks guys, these pups are working me. Feeding them 3 times a day and taking them out of the pen and playing and talking to them and cleaning up their mess. Its a job! Then I have Bam Bam and Pebbles Bellowing because I'm in the yard playing with other pups and won't let them out. Noisy around here sometimes.
Troy give me an update on Briar last week and he has put about a dozen coon down to him that he has treed. Sounds pretty good to me for a 14 month old and as dry as it is in his first month in a strange place with a new handler. But, he's still bumping a little junk and last night got out of pocket on Troy and he couldn't find him with the Garmin. He thinks he floated a deer out of there. Beverly got a call from someone that said Briar was at their house today so I called them back and couldn't get an answer so sent number to Troy. He couldn't get an answer either. Told Beverly if they called back tell them I would give a reward and get their address. In mean time Troy had found the place but Briar wasn't there. Later this evening they called and Briar showed back up and was asking Troy about the reward and I told him, yea I had said I would pay 50 bucks if they tied him up. So Troy got his hands on Briar and they said he had killed one of their Ducks which I don't doubt because if it moved he wanted to run it here. He give them 40 bucks so now I owe Troy. I didn't ask Troy if he at least got the Duck so he could roast it or if Briar had ate it and just had a few feathers around his mouth, lol! Troy feels he is going to make a nice hound just like I did but he is earning his money right now. Briar can be a handful and about time you want to knock him in the head he will fall treed and sound and look so good that you forgive him for all the bad nights. Then he starts over, lol!
