I ran into a man yesterday that has an 11 year old direct son of Boone. Are there any other dogs around that are direct out of Boone that could still produce pups?

I have not seen a direct decendant of Boone for several years, and this guy is a pleasure hunter....dog has never been in a hunt, but is as healthy as a horse.......

Good question and it doesnt hit a nerve with me. I have hunted as close to Boone as I can get. Until recently there was no Boone semen available and all of Boones pups are old or dead. I will have some Boone pups in the future but you can bet the farm it will be out of the finest female I can find. I have been looking for over a year to find the "right" one to breed to Boone semen, at $1500 a straw you dont want to breed Joe Bobs brood gyp down street just because she comes in heat and I dont care what there pedigree looks like..if they arent a coondog I dont want nothing out of 'em. I just havent been able to find the one that satisfies me just yet. But when I find her, whether I have to lease beg borrow or steal I will have some Direct sons and daughters of ole Boone...you can also bet the bitch wont be out of Rat Attack or Harry. I also agree the breeding of our breed has continuously gone the wrong way...IMO the dogs of today couldnt hold a candle to the old dogs of yesterday. BALANCE is what has been lost over the years and its hard to find a dog anymore with natural coon treeing ability. The closest I have found as far as that goes lies within the descendents of ole Boone and Minklers Kansas Dancer. They are more of the old style of dog that you can hunt all week and tree coons and still win at the hunts if you want to compete. My dogs are all at least 3 times ole Boone in 3 generations and thats as close as I can get at this time. You ask why "powered by Dohoney's Boone" ? Because in my opinion ...no matter what else is in the pedigree on my hounds....I think this is the driving force behind my dogs. Hope this answers your questions.

Well the week is over, much to my dismay.....I have seen some of the best dog work this week I have ever witnessed. The tracking was rough and the coon seemed like they moved early all week. However between Dizzy and Clay Scotts Dual Grand Son's Missouri Dancer dog we treed some serious coon. Here are the pics from this week....

Guys we had a blast. I am so wore out from this past week I cant even begin to tell you how tired I am. Gonna start hunting again tomorrow night and get this pup back in the woods. How is everyone elses dogs doin?

Aaron, You are right he is a very nice bred dog being double boone up close and being directly off of Sackett. It looks like they have had some good results from him in the brood pen. I have a female on the page before this that is a grandpup of Lynches HOlly which is Money's Mother. Money also has some good brothers and sisters I think Chad Carter has the "BIG DOg"

Hobo, I was looking at an old Ad on LOBO and I guess I never realized that he had another shot of Boone Creek Mike at the bottom! It was a nice ad.

David Clodfelder in Indiana owns him...he was supposed to have him at the Boone hunt last spring but was a no call no show....

But seein' as how you done went and exposed me,I really like her.One of the most sensible acting pups I have ever seen.
Aint shy or spooky in any way.The kids have been having a ball with her.
Don't bark a bit in the kennel.Fat and healthy.
I just can't get over how mature she acts for her age.

I know Mike didn't hunt on Friday night of the Boone hunt due to he wasnt feeling well... though I left early Saturday evening I know he went hunting just dont know what he hunted. I think he hunted with Hobo and Clint Smith though ... they might be able to elaborate on it more than I could.
