Larry and I took a couple of young dogs tonight and just could not find a coon. Wind was blowing hard and never seen anything stirring. We did manage to find a possum and get it treed lol. Oh well maybe tomorrow will be better. I'm ready for cooler weather and good tracking conditions

we got Larry's 6 month old pup he calls Crocket's Blue Whip started last night on his first trip the woods. pup had never seen a coon but likes how they taste and has tons of grit. he displayed good ability to get treed and sounded great doing so.

Whip is our of Crocket x Punkin

We had a great hunt tonight. Jr and Bill did a nice job. We got after 2 tracks and made 2 trees. Had the meat in one and came up short on the other. They passed on treeing any possums tonight and we looked at some.

Going to take Max and see if he is ready to start tonight. He is out of Crocket x Punkin. Great acting pup with a huge bawl mouth. Very houndy like I like them too. Max's littermate Whip started on his 1st trip to the woods

Tommy, I got so caught up watching them last night that I forgot to make a video lol... I will try to get one of him tonight. he seems to be all bawl mouth at the moment but I'm sure he will chop on the tree later. clear bawl mouth

I got lazy and didn't go last night. I'm going tonight and hope to get a video of Max . Glen Bivens posted one on here a few posts ago of his littermate treeing first scent he encountered at 5 months old. This could be a special cross. Either way we have a couple that we like and are going to spend the winter with.

Grace took us for a ride tonight. She got deep, worked a track over the mountain and got treed in a big draw on the side of the hill. Thank God for my polaris ranger cause we drove around and over the other side and got within 200 yards of her. I don't know exactly how long she was treed but it was a long time. I walked down into a draw where she was treed on a huge red oak. Ole Ricky looked like a bear cub lol she did a wonderful job but I was worn out by the time I climbed up to the polaris if Larry's light didn't burn out we would still be hunting

Had another good hunt with my buddies from Iowa. Got to see 3 different Crocket offspring hunt in the last 2 nights and looked at coon under all of them. They got the go power!

Had a great weekend with my buddy Mike Harward and his family. They are my extended family and I enjoy there company. I look forward to there trip down to my place this winter.

I would never consider selling Crocket even though he is old. Coon hunting isn't about how much money I can make on dog and puppy sales. It's about raising, hunting, and enjoying the dogs we raise. Sure we have pups for sale at times and even some young started dogs, but that's because we have made the decision on which dogs we will keep and can't hunt them all. When you truly get the right kind of hound it will never be for sale at any price. We love our Crocket dog! He is family to us.

I'd rather see one of my pups go to a hard hunting pleasure hunter than one of these competition computer hunters! At least the pups get the chance to do what they are breed to do.
