Are ya just spottin' in dead spots or bare ground? If your spottin' go for it all,if bare ground I'd make sure the seed took good or you might have to replant, straw over the top of the seed & put on 1/2 of the fertilizer @ plantin' then the rest @ fall time, lime anytime it breaks down slowly. If this sounds like too much work ... burn it all down w/ Roundup & put down astraturf you'll always have a green lawn yr. round & never have ta mow

Celebrated Valentine's Day at the casino with my mom. Then went out for supper with Chuck. I wanted to take the dogs out tonight, but Chuck can hardly walk because of plantar fasciitis in his right heel. He over did it today cutting firewood. Complaining tonight that his shoulders, hand and foot hurt more than usual.

Nasty windy and cold here today. I think our season goes out Saturday, but we're done shooting them anyways. Haven't taken the gun with us the last couple of times we went out. Chuck wanted to have 10 coons to sell, I think we got 6 and we're keeping at least one to practice water races. He said his shoulers are hurting so bad he doesn't want to flesh anymore. His buddy got back from his cruise, they're hoping to set beaver traps tomorrow. We got Quaking Aspen trees for bait today.

How many coons did u guys get? Did u sell any hides?

Glad ur ok, HB.
Went to a casino in OH. First time there so they gave me $25 free play. I was up $200 at one pt, but that didn't last long...still came home $65 ahead. It never got out of the 20's today and it was windy with flurries, so it was a good day to be inside.

Yep HB, sometimes we keep our guardian angels busy. I've had a lot of close calls.

Suppose to warm up here this wkend. Going to a bench show tomorrow and to the Sportsmens Show on Sunday. It's at the casino so I'll have twice the fun! Came home $30 ahead today. I was the only winner, but my mom only lost $14 and his mom $20.

Hope everyone has a good wkend.

I been busy farmin' we been puttin' on fertilizer & anhydrous, ground is dry & workin' nice.Seen 6 deer this week down south of Kansas....no coon.

Drove over 2 hrs to take the dogs to a bench show. Ruby got her first Champion of Champion Female. There were 6 in her class. They had 19 dogs there...mostly Black n Tans and Blue Ticks.
The drive up was terrible...ended up on muddy icey dirt rds. Came home the main rds, but it took longer.

Can't believe your ground is dry....its like a water soaked sponge here. We just talked to the guy that owns the field that borders our property. He said he was tired of the mud. He told me to come out and get a card from them. They've always left their ground (probably over a couple of thousand acres) open to hunting, but guess they had problems with ATV's and they're not going to be so nice anymore.

Hope u get feeling better, Rex. My friend just got out of the hospital yesterday. When they first admitted her, they thought she had the flu and pneumonia, but she has pneumonia and bronchitis. She quit smoking 2 wks ago...she's thinking maybe she shouldn't have☺

Just got a text video of 2 of Ruby's male pups treeing on a caged coon. We sold them to friends that are training them together. He said they treed 3 coons last wk and "they couldn't be happier with them!" That gives me a really good feeling....I love knowing the pups r doing what they're supposed to do and have good homes.
