treed coon in the gulf took me 3 hours to get in their to em,then7 miles back to the truck,i also had to wade a big creek and as i was wadeing it i got to thinking how crazy i really am lol.during the summer when iam hunting at night and cant get no water i pull up sassafras roots and chew on them,it will help cool you off and it will open up them sinuses about as good as any medicine.

I know yer right on that Coma blood Hillbilly,I had a buddy that had a red female,if I could find another like her she'd be in my kennel right now....& you can bet on that, not a flashy dog & not fast but very accurate. He called her Molly,my Walker female I still hunt is named after her.

Posted by hillbilly56 on 12-31-2013 08:41 PM:

yea it's hard to find a good red dog that suits me they got them bred way differnt nowdays i like the old timberchopper blood the best but nowdays it;s so far back really don't help i think the hillbilly mack blood is good to i had a young red dog i let go awhile back i hate a dog that does super 1 nite then act like a blommin idiot the next nite plus im gettin to old to fol with these young dogs anymore i always love to watch a pup progress into a dog that could tree a coon and do it right last 2 walker pups i bought was outa tim balls hickory nut harry dog they never did amount to nothing but pot lickers but i always had a red dog or 2 around

Hillbilly , back a fews ago I owned a direct son of Hillbilly Mac that was a rock steady every night coon dog . Took his tracks as he came on them , hunted out about 45 minutes and checked back in . If he was gone an hour you needed to get up high to hear him because he had crossed over a ridge . Deadly accurite dog too ,very seldom missed . Layup dog deluxe .
