I've tried the white ones, didn't care that much for them. I was riding with a group of people and one of the gals took an orange one off a stump. I told her I always thought they were poisonous, but she said they should be on oak stump and not have stems....the ones with stems are poisonous. I read that ALL mushrooms are edible, but some you'll only eat ONCE!
Glad your grandson is doing well.
We didn't go see Chuck's mom tonight because last night, she said she was getting her hair done today and playing BINGO tonight. Her roommate is going home on Friday and she wanted her to go with her. She still can only eat/drink every thing that is the consistency of honey. Her leg is doing better, but her left arm and hand are still paralyzed.
Had Ruby and Dandy out tonight. They treed up a big pine tree 😞. I had to wake Chuck up to go so he said one was enough, we came home.
its windy and rainy here ,I had over an inch of rain last night...

HB and Rex, just saw a video on FB a guy shared from Missouri. He was hunting mushrooms and there was a BIG rattlesnake about 6" from a mushroom. Fortunately, he saw it before he tried picking the mushroom.

Old man winter never had much of a grip on us this past winter,so he's tryin' to make a weak come back this mornin'.....that'll be short lived callin' for low 70's by Sunday. I take a club or something a bit more powerful when I go huntin' mushrooms, them snakes don't stand a chance.
same here rain & snow mix all nite
it aint no sack full but its a start..

Wonder how many mushrooms look like those that aren't edible. I see something like that around here, but just keep on walking. How do u cook them? The ones we get, we fry in "butter". With high cholesterol, the dr tells me I shouldn't eat butter, but that's not going to happen with somethings, and sweet corn and fried mushrooms are a couple of them.
roll them in flour, deep fried..those are black ones, round here its the black ones, then greys, then yellow and white ones....most all are gone by the 2nd or 3rd week in May.

end up being a really nice day went to the barn for 1st time in over a week sure felt good up there brushin the horse & pony still alot to come off the pony that walk took a bit outa me still not breathin very good but feel better than i have for over a weeek
After we got home from Chuck's parents, I took the shedding blade to my horses today....they're a mess!
We spent hrs with Chuck's sisters and brother cleaning and moving things around at his parents in case his mom can come home. Have to get it wheelchair friendly. Hopefully, its only going to take another day to shampoo carpet and move her bed. Hope they pick a rainy day instead of a sunny day or Chuck can help and I'll go riding.
i couldn't find our sheding blade boy may have them inn the trailer i just use the curry comb end up over at med express they give me some high powered antiobotics this trip hope this knocks it out this time
