Da Moose was loose in Tennessee again last night!
Moose is loose...
I heard rumors that Moose picked up a win last night...is that true? I've always said that it's about winning and not about how good they look when they lose...eh?
We got another 3-5" of snow over the last couple of days and now the temperature is dropping fast so winter has us in her icy grip...I'm glad to hear that at least some folks are able to still get out and tree some coons.
Good luck going forward Richard...lots of good nights in that young hound still to come.

winter
Yes winter is back. My wife wanted to take the handiecap taxi up town when i was at work so when i got home there is a cab stuck a pickup stuck and a county truck all stuck in my driveway. ugh So i hooked up my pickup up to the county truck and i could not belive it actually moved so poor the coals to it and got him out. Then the next two. I started at 3:40 and at 4:45 i got the last one out. My wife said they were stuck for a hour before i got home. So needless to say she didn't get to go to Walmart. Got to love Wisconsin.

Stuck
There's no such thing as being stuck in Wisconsin...just indisposed for a short time...eh? There are only a few places in the country where folks look at the situation like we do...no big deal...just hook on and give it the guns and see what moves Some folks actually pay to have that kind of fun...
I'm just getting geared up again to go out and push more snow...the only good thing about it is that it's not so deep and I think I can get it moved with the 4-wheeler instead of having to break out the tractor...more fun...how much better can it get
Hang in there Carl, spring is just around the corner...

You know Carl. Calling Aub and getting the mules hooked up to pull everything out would have made some great pictures.
Winter is what winter is. Either you like it or you tolerate it. I love the winter. Even with all the problems I had a few nights ago on the 4 wheeler. I can't blame winter for my neglect of the 4 wheeler.
Prior preperation, prevents piss poor performance.
It was an epic fail for me. Lesson learned... LOL
Hey Tom,
I'm maybe be up in your neck of the woods next Sat. You going to be around? Weather permitting anyway.

Nice job Richard...I see on another post that you got a Nt. Ch. win last night with Moose...3 more to go.
Scott, I should be around on Saturday, cutting wood or what ever else I can think of to do...if you want to drop in and shoot the bull for awhile, that would be great.
I just got in from pushing snow...started at about 11:00 AM this morning and finished at 3:30 PM but got it cleaned up good. I'm ready for football now for the rest of the day...

Congrats to Richard and Moose.
And how about them Packers

Tom all you have to do now is lay back and read the internet and magazine and listen for the phone to ring. Willow makes #20 doesn't she? That should bump Rabble up to #3 on the historical list and #3 on the all time % list. Those Rabble offspring and grand offspring are carrying on the "family tradition" now. It won't be long before you are reading about the Great Grand pups. You really have something to be proud of. "The T-Top Dynasty" has begun. They will only get better and better. Who needs frozen semen when each generation just keeps getting better and better. I heard today that one of those Moose "test pups" was running and treeing it's own coon now and might get hunted at Southern Redbone Days! Sit back and enjoy it, you deserve it. Now Dave, he is another story. Dave, you had better get that pup in the woods. A young man like you can't let a little snow keep you in. Don't y'all have snow shoes and snowmobiles up there? Carl, I might have to name my next pup, Brett!
Good weekend...
It has been a good weekend for sure...I've enjoyed hearing about how things have worked out and how they continue to fall into place.
Congratulations to Wendall, Buck and Willow on another first place win and her finish to Nite Champion.
I also see where a nice male Rabble grandpup under a year of age, got a first place win last night with a decent score.
Overall, Moose picked up a Nite Ch win with Richard at the controls, Willow finished to Nite Ch with Buck at the controls and one of those nice Rabble Grandpups, a male out of Don Barnett's Deuce male, got a first place win with Johnny at the controls...that's a good weekend by anyone's standard.
Richard, remember that Slim, our male out of Moose and Leinie, was tracking and treeing already this last fall at 8 months of age, before winter shut us down and he was holding his own on most tracks and trees. He's a great prospect from that "test" cross and you're right, he has some brothers and sisters out there that are going to also open some eyes by next fall. One other thing to mention about Slim is that he's a good looking cuss and has started growing into a real nice male...he's very dark and has great feet and legs so he may be a legitimate dual threat as he matures.
We still have 18" of snow on the ground and it was below 0 again this morning...we don't need to hunt that bad, things will fall into place come spring, just like they always do. On the other hand, Dave does have a snowmobile and he was out here with his boys yesterday making some trails up along the woods so we can at least do a little bit of training if the weather breaks even a little.
You need to name your next pup Aaron...not Brett...Go Packers!
One last thing...for years, we never worried about saving semen from a male dog because we always expect our next stud to come from our own line up close. I'll have to admit that sometimes I wish we would have saved some straws from Rat and Rabble but not to sell matings, just to keep ourselves in touch with some of that blood up close just in case something drastic would happen. Right now, I wouldn't worry a minute about it because we can get it back strong from several sources around the country and that's a good feeling. Remember also that Yank has some very nice pups on the ground right now, one of them has 2 first place wins and a few others are doing real good on coons and also on lion and bobcat out west. If you look at the pups that Woofter has out of Ace and Douke, it really is about as close as you can get to acheiving what we set out to do...put old Rat in a pedigree up close 4 times with just about every dog in our line in one pedigree, not to mention Rusty, Bomber, Bell and many others...good stuff.

names
I do need to come up with a male name for my pup. I let my pups out to play in the snow. But frist i hid a coontail in a tree and them litte guys didn't take them long to find it. Was funny watching them standing on there hind legs smelling and barking treed. I think they will make it.

Rabble female
Hey Tom
I finally got to take the female out. She was a little rough on track, but she treeded good. I guess it was ok , first time out
in 3or4 months.
Female
Hey Tim, that's good to hear...rust doesn't usually just fall off, it has to be hard hunted off...eh?
I hope she is what you're looking for, it looks like nice tree style and she's a good looker so with some hunt time, she might be something to reckon with down the road.
The other thing is that she's a real nice bred female that will give you a bottom side line cross for any of those male pups out of Rebel or Yank or any of the others that might take your fancy.
That generation should be able to contribute real well as reproducers and especially if you can line them close.
Keep me posted, I'm real interested to hear how she does.

Just thought I'd make a shout out to everyone and say hey! been awhile since I've been on the thread, but I like what I'm seeing out of the T-Top crew! Hoping to get down to hunt with Moose sometime this spring if I can! Managed to get out last night and tree one before curfew with my Rabble Rouser grand-son, Rock. Hope to see some great things out of Da Moose and the rest of the T-Top dogs as 2011 progresses! Look's like ya'll are off to a good start

Hunting
Hey Corey, it's good to hear from you, nice job on a short night.
We're pretty much shut down for the winter but it's nice to see that someone is still getting out and about.
We've got a few youngsters in the works that we'll be breaking out this spring and it will be interesting to see how it all shapes up through the spring.
Moose will be doing his thing throughout the late winter, spring and early summer so if you get the chance to visit Buck or a hunt where he's at, check him out...he'll make an impression on you for sure.

For Tom.
Here's a little vid. I put together for Tom and Rabble. I personally feel that both have made huge contributions to the redbone breed. I also consider Tom to be a great friend. Who has always helped me out.
Also wanted to thank everybody for your help and sending me pictures.
Hope you all enjoy it.

Thank you
Thank you Scott, I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed the video...it was a pleasure to see...and I'll have to say that it stirred my heart.
Sometimes, especially this time of year...when the moon is bright and the landscape cast in sharp contrasts of black and white...I find myself caught, as if somewhere in another time and place...whispers of voices long past seem to well up in my head and I'll remember the mournful sound of a hound long in the distance. Although it's only in my imagination, I'm sure I've heard it before...What I've come to realize is that there is only one constant in this sport...dogs come and go, sometimes all too soon but good friends stay with us forever.
These hounds are but vessels that connect us over time to each other, whether in person or in memories or because of common interests, but how fortunate are we all that those connections were made? They have allowed us to share a common thread with folks all over the country and I'm extremly grateful to be a part of that.
Thanks again Scott...and to you all, I look forward to many more good years and to good friends, old and new.

pups
Hey Tom,
Went up to Daves today to pick up Hustler and found he had a whole bunch of ttop pups.I think that was a trap, because nobody could drive off with out picking one of them little devils out. So yes i did pick one out. Put some pics up soon.
Thanks Tim
Yep...
I know how it goes Tim...it's hard to see 'em and not want one to take home. I'm guessing that the cross you're talking about is going to be a good one, can't hardly miss by the way it's put together.
Scott did a nice job with this video...lots of memories in there, past and present...and some real good friends.
