Congratulations to the Brooks and Bob Tully for the cast win at Autumn oaks and being tied for the lead in the Bluetick part of the purina race hunt with Hotwire. Congrats to Chad and Grizzly for being tied with them.

Toby

We have enjoyed Toby. I hunted with him as a 1 year old and really liked his tools in his tool box and drive. He showed the ability to tree coon in multiple situations. Thanks to Robbie and Lisa Brooks for allowing us to get him. Rodney who owns Millingport Supply started Toby from a pup. The Brooks and Tony Poole had the vision to breed this litter multiple times. Thanks to Tony for his help. It is a quad grand to quad grand cross between Sid and Remmy. Thanks to Paul and Tim Vaughn for many of the hounds in Sids pedigree. Roy Clifton brought to my attention early on to the abilities that were in Toby. Roy us drawing out together helped me appreciate what I had. We are not finished but it has been fun so far. Here is Tyler and his girlfriend Annie with Toby and most of his awards. I think we have made three events on the year so far. Just wanted to share.

We are proud of Tyler's accomplishments. We decided in 2008 to go this route as a kids project instead of showing cattle or hogs like Dana and I did. Our farm had changed so much since the days we showed. The only disadvantage to Coonhounds vs livestock is having to compete against adults. The bad experiences are few and far between though. It's been fun so far.

The fun Part of that hunt was that Jacob Webb won King of hunt. They were both 12 years old. The attendance was very good at the hunt back then. I believe both of them are still coon hunting. Getting kids involved is so important to our breed. I wish I could find the pic of Jacob and Tyler we took.

Thanks Ron and Gerald. Hope y'alls year has started out good.

Dana has had a great deer season. She got a 10 point the other day.

Looking forward to Bluetick days. Retiring from coaching is going to free up some time this year that I've not had in several years.

Sally is still in Mo at Tim's and hopefully he will get her bread to Cowboy. We will see in time.

I want to thank Rance and the other officers of the zone for the job they are doing. Thank yall for putting in the time to help BBOA grow.

Tyler told me yesterday he want's to hit a few hunts before he goes to college. He has decided to play football for crown college in Mn. We enrolled him yesterday. He is really excited. We are headed to Nashville for a baseball tourney today. Toby is doing good and we are looking forward to some father son time.

As many of you know Tyler has been through a lot of ups and a down or two in the coon hunting world. I am very proud of him sticking to it and what he has accomplished. He really enjoyed the bloodline and was really bonded to Grandnitech Mad Dog Spice II. He enjoyes Toby and Sally too. Trophies seem to follow T around. The hounds had the biggest part to do with that.

Beaux is doing good and is working hard on the farm each day. Coon hunting is not as much his cup of tea but he did enjoy hunting Tonto when he was younger. He is focused on other things mostly now. We are so proud of both of them.

Update

I went to the local club this weekend and got beat in everything. Lol the winners did an excellent job and Toby and I were just not on but the cobwebs were knocked off.

In better news I got this update from a cross Tim helped me with along with Lance and Amy Myrick. It was the first cross Dana and I made with Tonto.

"Just wanted to give you an update on Remi, my female out of Tonto X Jane. She got her HTX title a while back in just three tests and won queen of show in the BBOA Indiana Championships. This weekend she was double cast winner at the KY BBOA sectional which made her queen of the hunt as well. I hope all is well on your end."

Congrats to Mark Brockman on his wins. He got Remi as a pup and has done an outstanding job with her.

I plan on going next month to the bluetick hunt, as long as its not on the 27th Our zone is hosting the BBOA national youth hunt..... Gerald

Bluetick Days

Tyler and I had a great time at Bluetick days. We visited with friends and as usual got to put some names to faces. We only hunted Saturday nite and got beat by 25 points. Gerald Parker has a nice hound and did a nice job judging. There were 0 issues on our cast and Tyler thoroughly enjoyed it. I would not have made the trek this year had it not been for Robbie Brooks encouraging me to. We are both so happy that we went and it all goes to show how God works in mysterious ways. Toby went to the Brooks for a bit and we are excited about that too.

I need a favor: I have an unspoken prayer request for a friend who will have surgery soon. God knows the health situation and I ask that everyone lift up in your prayers that all things go smoothly. Thanks for helping.
