Who could give me directions to do a tanned coon hide. It does not have to be soft just preserved with the hair on. If scraped and boraxed and let dry will it keep? I just want it to hang on a peg. Will it shrink up if I borax it and hang it on a nail to dry?? Or is there a tannery that could tan it if I shopped it to them?

Tanning hide
Bobby G,
There's better things to use.You can get a small bottle of "Tan it" for a few bucks from most trapping supply stores. If you want it preserved so the hair wont fall out, thats what I would do.It's real simple to use just skin it,knock off all the fat and flesh it best you can, then simply brush this stuff on and your done!Hope this helps.......Good luck......
